Chapter 217 - Chapter 217: Magical Alchemy Girl Su!

Nox's POV:

When I left in defeat, I never thought I would get another chance, but I will not fail this time.

"THAT PRIZE MONEY IS GOING TO BE MINE!!!"

I was so bummed out when I couldn't get the prize money cause longbeard and beehive ambushed me right before the finals, but little did I know I would get another chance so soon. Apparently, the sheep that ruined my business was supposed to compete for a place in the next moon tournament and as an apology, the wife-beater gave me the chance to take his place if I quote: 'Stop, ruining public morality', which I didn't really understand, since my bdsm club has been nothing but a good influence on his punch-happy town.

"Candidate Su!"

I wonder what I should use the prize money for.

"Candidate Su!"

If there is enough variety, I could probably make the jump to the greater spirit core almost right away, but I would get more benefits out of-!

"Candidate Su from straw city! If you are not going to participate then please leave! The other participants have already finished their pills!" The nerd in glasses shouted at me.

Oops! It seems I got lost in thought, counting my energy chickens before they hatched. Unlike last time, I don't have an official sponsor to get me in the tournament, so I have to do a bunch of preliminary stuff to get a spot on the moon. Another thing different from last time is the theme of this tournament, which I was told was alchemy. That is why I'd decided to go incognito as the rainbow-haired magical alchemy girl Su. I took advantage of the mountains of outfits the granny had shoved into my closet to make me a magical girl outfit complete with a rubber wand with a glowing yellow star glued on. I even made a new mask that shows my real face which had rainbow colored star stickers at the corners of my eyes.

"Okey dokey, karaoke!" I said as I threw all the ingredients in a pot along with some of my aura before closing the lid.

"You only have a minute left! You can't possibly think you can finish in time, so g-!"

"Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo! Here are some drugs for you!" I said, interrupting glasses-kun as I threw a pot of pills in his face.

"WHAT THE! Where did these come from?"

I was going to wow the audience with the magic of chemistry, as I made a battery out of two metal lollipops, a piece of paper and some acid and base solutions. If that wasn't enough, I was prepared to show them how to make led into radioactive gold without a philosopher's stone, but I was disappointed to find that alchemists on this continent are different from the ones on the magic continent. They care more about turning plants into drugs than turning rocks into gold, which I find deeply disturbing, but that won't stop this magical girl from winning that prize money.

"HEY, YOU!"

As I was leaving the stage after another demonstration of my drug making skills, I was approached by one of my sad competing magical idols. She wore a pair of bland shoes with no decorations, her kimono was the same bland light-gray color with no glitter, and her brown hair was tied behind her head by a boring hairpin that I suspect is actually just a chopstick. Seeing this travesty, it is my duty as the best magical girl to help this poor girl.

"Sup, sad girl! Want to borrow some glitter to turn that frown upside-down?" I asked while posing as I winked at her.

"Go tell the judges you quit and never show your face around here again!"

"Quit? Magical girls never quit! Even when we should, but just because you're a junkie now doesn't mean your dreams can't come true!" I said as I peppered her with some glitter.

*Slap*

*Slap*

She then had an outburst as she slapped the glitter out of my hand before slapping my holographic face.

"This is a serious competition to decide who is the best alchemist on this side of the Dark Empire! Not some silly game for a cheating bitch like you! So, quit while I'm being nice, or you'll regret it!" She said, obviously feeling down from not taking her happy pills this evening.

"I hear you loud and clear!" I said as I suddenly had a great idea.

"Hmph! I see you have at least some shame left!" She said as she walked away.
