Aiko's POV:
I never thought I'd say this but.
"Can I leave?" I asked my cute looking spider-golem ancestor.
I'm not entirely sure how long it's been since I got here, but it feels like an eternity.
"Hm? Dear child? You seemed so eager to learn just a short while ago? Why the sudden change of heart!"
I braced myself to mutter the complaint I have been burying deep in my heart since what I think was a year ago.
"I want to build golems!"
"Hm? And how exactly are you going to afford the materials to build zed golems?"
"I'll mooch of the boss or go scavenging!" I said.
"Pft! Hehe! I wonder what your master would have done if she heard you say such a thing? Regardless, you cannot rely on your master forever, and there is a limit to what you can acquire on your own! That is why it is important for every enchanter, especially golemmancers like us, to have a solid grasp of economics, to build up our wealth! Just look at this body of mine!" She said as she pointed out the various gemstones decorating her spider body.
"But it so boring!"
Initially, this was meant to be my inheritance trial, to see if I was ready to inherit my family's legacy, but I passed it in a single day, setting a record for shortest trial period. Then while waiting for the Boss to come pick me back up, I was having a conversation with my great, great, great grandfather when I made the biggest mistake of my life. I don't remember the exact details, but the topic had suddenly shifted from golems to the current market price of different metals and various materials. Shortly after, I was forced to take a bunch of classes on boring economics amongst other things I didn't really like.
"…"
"Now, let's go over answers to see what your test scores say! Hm? *sigh* Come on, you didn't even try this time!" She said, showing me the questionnaire where I had circled the first option for all the questions.
"When is the boss getting here?"
I never thought I'd miss taking her classes, but at least I got to make stuff with grandpa while in her class, even if I had to do it while covered in spiders and snakes.
"Can't I at least see little grandpa?"
"Hehe! Sorry, but he is busy with something!"
