There was no option but to take it head-on!
Clang!
Gu You's purple-gold dragon armor wasn't made of paper. That attack was completely blocked.
Dai Yun'er was forced back more than ten meters.
She landed lightly, her delicate face showing a hint of smugness. "So that's all there is to it."
Gu You looked at her with a slight frown. "Even with all that gear, you're still no match for me. I advise you to leave the field while you still can. If something gets broken, I'm not paying for it."
"Hmph!" Dai Yun'er didn't waste words and launched another fierce assault.
A faint smile appeared on Gu You's lips. He extended his right hand and hooked a finger at her.
That slightly provocative gesture immediately enraged Dai Yun'er. Like an angry little kitten, she activated her inner motor, her speed skyrocketing until she seemed to vanish from sight.
In the waiting zone, Dai Yueyan's previously smiling expression stiffened, his brows furrowing deeply.
'It's over… That sister of mine…'
Once again it was the Nether Thrust. But this time, the light in Dai Yun'er's eyes suddenly intensified. The previous blue glow abruptly transformed into a pair of icy blue spears of light. Gu You only yawned lazily, seemingly indifferent to her strike.
As she approached, Dai Yun'er slid under him with a quick step, reappearing behind him. Her feline claws slashed out in reverse, aiming for both sides of Gu You's waist.
"Had enough fun?" Gu You casually dodged to the side, a smirk curling his lips as he reached toward her.
"You can't break through my defenses!" Dai Yun'er declared confidently.
"Is that so?"
A flicker passed through Gu You's eyes. His hands turned into dragon claws, shrouded in the power of destruction.
The ninth-grade soul tool shield was instantly corroded by the destructive force and vanished.
Without any effort, Gu You grabbed Dai Yun'er by her left leg and hoisted her up like a kitten.
Gasps echoed through the entire arena.
They weren't discussing the fight—they were shocked by how Gu You dared to grab their princess like that.
"You—how is this possible? My defensive shield is… Wait, let me go! What the hell!" Dai Yun'er's face flushed with shame and fury.
"The power of destruction ignores all defenses." Gu You answered plainly, releasing his grip.
"Ow!" Dai Yun'er fell with a thump.
"You jerk! Can't you be a little more gentle?"
"Not even a little."
"Do you… do you have a second martial soul?" Gu You suddenly asked.
"How did you know?" Dai Yun'er blinked in surprise.
"Your spiritual power is too strong. I don't believe even with a ninth-grade soul tool boost it could reach my level." Gu You replied.
"My second martial soul is the Spirit Eye!" Dai Yun'er pointed to her own eyes.
In addition to her Nether Spirit Cat, she had awakened a second martial soul called Spirit Eye. It might sound ordinary, but it was one of the legendary twin martial souls once wielded by the Spirit Ice Douluo from ten thousand years ago.
The Spirit Eye was a purely spiritual martial soul that greatly enhanced one's mental power.
Boos rang out from the stands as Gu You returned to the waiting area. Ignoring the noise, he sealed off his hearing with soul power and simply began reviewing the battle in his mind.
Another member of Monster Academy had been eliminated. So far, only three remained.
Gu You had advanced smoothly into the Top 16.
With the end of the round of sixteen, Gu You, Yuanen Yehui, Xie Xie, and the three remaining Monster Academy elites led by Long Yue all entered the Top 16. Between the two academies, they held six of the top spots.
There was no doubt that the All-Continent Youth Soul Master Elite Tournament's individual competition was reaching its peak.
The upcoming round of sixteen to eight would mark a crucial showdown between Shrek Academy and Monster Academy. Whoever seized the advantage here would likely dominate the rest of the individual competition.
"I refuse to accept this!"
Smash!
That was the sixth porcelain vase Dai Yun'er had shattered. Her beautiful face was filled with rage. If she could, she would've gone to challenge Gu You to a rematch on the spot.
But two elderly figures stood calmly outside her chamber door. With them there, not even a single step beyond her quarters was possible.
"I was tricked! That guy is so devious. Gu You, just wait! Once I find a way to resist your destruction power, I'll make you pay!"
"That's enough, Yun'er. Don't throw another fit." At that moment, Long Yue and Dai Yueyan entered the room together.
"Brother, even you aren't on my side?"
"You forgot what methods you used…"
Meanwhile, in her own quarters, Gu Yue sat calmly on a sofa, her eyes distant, fingers crossed at her abdomen, as if lost in thought.
Suddenly, the light in the room dimmed slightly. A figure silently appeared inside.
It was a woman in a flowing purple gown, breathtakingly beautiful, her long purple hair cascading down her back. Even her eyes were violet, a striking rarity.
With a wave of her right hand, a purple glow rippled through the room before she approached Gu Yue, kneeling on one knee.
"Master."
"What did you find?" Gu Yue asked flatly.
The woman in purple spoke solemnly. "According to our investigation, Long Yue's Mountain Dragon King martial soul wasn't innate. It seems to have been inherited or infused, likely through a kind of bloodline transfer. We're currently searching for the source of that inheritance. There are several formidable experts hidden within Monster Academy. If we force our way in, we can overpower them, but we'd definitely attract too much attention. Remaining undetected would be nearly impossible."
"Don't alert them yet." Gu Yue waved her hand. "Wait for a better opportunity. We'll soon see more of Long Yue's strength in battle. I don't sense the inheritance site anywhere nearby—it must be hidden within some spatial rift. If he carries the Mountain Dragon King's bloodline, it's possible my lost artifacts are there too."
"My power is slowly being restored. I've rebuilt it step by step, and the initial process is complete. I still need more time. If I can recover my lost artifact, it will greatly accelerate everything."
"Understood, Master. I'll continue to look for the right opportunity. During the final stage of the tournament, that Monster Academy headmaster is sure to show up. That might be our best chance. I'll investigate thoroughly then and see what I can uncover."
"Good. Go."
The woman shimmered and disappeared into a streak of violet light.
Gu Yue rose, stepped to the window, and looked out, unconsciously turning her head in the direction of Gu You.
