Chapter 337 - Chapter 337: The Self

The counter-spike effect of the Purple-Gold Dragon Armor was practically nonexistent—because in truth, that property had never been part of it. However, after Gu You's Destruction Power evolved into Divine Destruction, the energy that used to radiate in small-scale destructive bursts now fused into the dragon armor. When struck, that force would reflexively be unleashed in retaliation.

It was similar to a thornmail effect—yet the concept was both akin to and far beyond it.

As the glowing word "Victory" flashed before his eyes, Gu You's aura gradually calmed and he was transmitted out of the battle arena.

Just like during the elimination stage, the battle had ended swiftly—the clash between both sides lasting only moments from start to finish.

Exiting the Star Battle Network, Gu You had just regained his senses when his Blood God Ring lit up with an incoming communication.

Upon connecting, a familiar voice came through—Long Yuxue.

"Congratulations. Another win. Round-robin stage—you're off to a great start." Her tone was laced with complexity. She had just watched the livestream broadcasted across the entire Federation, and she recognized Gu You's combat techniques and the evolution of his abilities instantly. As soon as the match concluded, she had known who the victor was.

"Thanks. Something on your mind?"

"Not really. Just... I'm a little jealous after watching you win so many matches. Make sure you take first place! I've already been eliminated."

"Don't worry about it. You gave it your all. At this stage, most of your opponents are Soul Sages with two-word battle armor—you really can't be expected to keep up. But I believe you'll break through to Titled Douluo one day. Then beating them will be like swatting flies."

"Thanks…"

She ended the call.

Gu You then made his way to the Blood God Battalion's main hall and ran right into the former Blood Nine.

The previous Blood Nine looked at him with a slightly awkward expression. "I watched your match, Gu You."

At this moment, he was wearing the uniform of a senior colonel with two stripes and four stars on his shoulders. Meanwhile, the stars on Gu You's shoulder gleamed—he was now a general.

Gu You chuckled. "Didn't you say you wanted to fight me? What now—scared?"

"Scared of what?" Blood Nine grumbled. "Next time, I'll definitely beat you!"

Anyone who could become one of the Blood Gods had a fierce fighting spirit. The former Blood Nine was not discouraged by Gu You's improved strength—on the contrary, it only ignited his competitive drive.

"Alright." Gu You nodded in agreement.

After leaving the Blood God Battalion, Gu You stretched his limbs and began walking toward the highest peak of the Blood God Legion's encampment.

The frigid wind, sharpened by sub-zero temperatures and the mountain's altitude, felt like icy knives against the skin. Any ordinary person would've frozen solid in minutes. Yet Gu You only felt a refreshing chill—it was oddly comforting.

He climbed the snowy mound easily. With his Blood God Ring acting as identification, none of the Legion's internal detection devices responded to his presence.

Gu You turned around and gazed toward the Abyssal Passage. Faint swirls of dark gray mist were visible in the distance.

With a slight leap, his wings unfurled behind him as he glided straight toward the Abyssal Passage.

His powerful strength and intense blood energy distorted space around him, rendering the turbulent mountain winds meaningless to his flight.

The entrance of the Abyssal Passage soon came into view. Gu You retracted his wings and dove directly toward it.

A wave of oppressive, murky aura unique to the Abyssal Plane slammed into him. Soldiers of the Blood God Legion stationed at the passage were routinely rotated out to avoid prolonged exposure to the abyssal aura—which could deteriorate both body and spirit.

After thousands of years of experience, the Blood God Legion now had a comprehensive database on the Abyssal Plane.

With his Blood God Ring as proof of identity, Gu You passed through the perimeter unhindered and entered one of the larger tunnels. The defenses inside were tight, but his Blood Nine status granted him free passage all the way through.

Once inside, Gu You summoned his battle armor and held his Golden Dragon Spear. Given the current depth of his descent, the spear was more efficient than the Purple-Gold Dragon God Halberd.

The tunnel was wide and dry. If one didn't know any better, they wouldn't believe it led to an alien dimension.

Perhaps because the abyssal tide had only just receded, Gu You encountered no abyssal creatures during his twenty-minute descent.

He kept his focus and continued forward.

As he ventured deeper, the temperature within the tunnel began to rise. Flickering lights danced along the walls, creating an eerie and otherworldly atmosphere.

With his spiritual power nearing the threshold of the Divine Origin Realm, Gu You could clearly sense a rapidly increasing density of space-attributed elemental particles in the air.

'So this is what the Abyssal Passage feels like.'

He couldn't fathom how the Abyssal Plane had managed to link itself to another world and begin an invasion.

The richer the spatial elements around him became, the more curious Gu You grew about the Abyss. He subconsciously picked up his pace.

The temperature continued to climb. Though the tunnel's width remained unchanged, the spatial fluctuations grew increasingly intense.

At this point, Gu You could feel it clearly—the entire tunnel was subtly pulsating, like a giant vein throbbing with blood. It gave off a profoundly strange sensation.

He stabbed the Golden Dragon Spear into the ground and quietly focused.

No energy fluctuations responded to his probe, which meant the tunnel itself wasn't alive—it had no life energy.

However, the spatial element structure within the Abyssal Passage was incredibly peculiar. It felt like a glimpse into the very source of a world's creation.

He continued onward. After a while, the concentration of space elements seemed to stabilize. But the tunnel stretched on endlessly, with no end in sight. After walking for nearly an hour, Gu You finally stopped.

In that moment, a voice whispered in his mind—telling him not to go any farther…

He paused and scanned the area. Spatial fluctuations still danced thickly in the air. The walls of the tunnel had turned a deep, translucent orange with flickering halos. The temperature had risen to over forty degrees—significantly warmer than outside. So far, this heat was the only tangible indicator of his descent into the Abyssal Plane.

Just then, his dragon core suddenly contracted. A wave of intense blood energy burst outward.

Gu You instinctively turned around. Without hesitation, he swept out his Golden Dragon Spear.

A shadowy figure darted back with lightning speed, evading the sweep and landing further down the passage.

'An abyssal creature?'

When Gu You focused on it, he froze.

That silhouette… looked exactly like a human. More precisely—it looked like him. Same height, same build. But it was pitch-black and semi-transparent. Its face was a blur.

Gu You's heart trembled.

'What the hell is that?'
