Chapter 344 - Chapter 344: The Dragon-Slaying Saber

"You think this kid can win?"

Blood One replied blandly, "Just watch. Who cares if he wins or not."

"Huh?" Zhang Huanyun's mouth twitched. "Aren't you being a little too casual?"

Emotionless Douluo Cao Dezhi looked utterly unconcerned. "If I weren't this casual, do you think I'd still be Blood One in this godforsaken Blood God Legion? What do you think I'm even here for?"

The words made the people nearby stifle laughter, their expressions turning odd. He wasn't wrong.

"Cao Dezhi!" Zhang Huanyun gritted his teeth, but quickly relaxed into a smile. "Fine! Let's just enjoy the match."

All eyes returned to the large screen ahead. The seats around the semifinals arena were already packed. As long as one had a Star Dou pod and was willing to pay the steep ticket price, they could watch the match in person. Despite the cost, tickets had long been sold out.

Compared to the other semifinal, this match was clearly more exciting. Blade Demon versus Gun King. With one ranked third in betting odds and the other first, this was the match everyone had been waiting for.

Gu You sat calmly in the lounge, eyes closed. The Golden Dragon Spear lay across his lap. He quietly felt the deep connection between himself and this divine weapon.

To combat blade intent, only spear intent would do.

In a clash of wills, brute force wasn't enough—even if you won physically, you'd still lose in spirit.

Only when staff arrived to summon him did Gu You slowly open his eyes. Grasping the Golden Dragon Spear, he rose and walked out. A faint rainbow light flickered within his eyes, and deep within him stirred a hunger—not to lose.

The Dragon-Slaying Saber…

A deafening cheer erupted from the stands, the force enough to make one's blood boil. But Gu You remained unmoved. The external noise was shut out—he was as serene as a mirror, his focus locked on the surging dragon blood flowing through his spear.

The Golden Dragon Spear had changed significantly. Its golden hue had lightened, replaced by a faint, multicolored glow that shimmered from the red gemstone at its core. Mysterious and divine.

Across the field, the Blade Demon Sima Jinchi emerged, shouldering the colossal Dragon-Slaying Saber—his martial soul. Though the blade was already manifested, it didn't violate competition rules so long as no soul rings were released.

Seeing Gu You approaching, Sima Jinchi's eyes lit up with fervor.

The two stood far apart, but intense fighting intent exploded from their weapons the moment their gazes locked.

In Sima Jinchi's eyes, Gu You was like a slumbering dragon, poised to strike. In Gu You's eyes, Sima Jinchi resembled an executioner, cold and merciless.

Sima Jinchi was surprised. Never before had a dragon-type martial soul user stood before him so calm, so unaffected.

The Dragon-Slaying Saber wasn't truly meant to slay dragons. In truth, it was a divine weapon created by the Dragon God himself, entrusted to the Bright Dragon King, the most favored of the Nine Dragon Kings. Within dragonkind, the Bright Dragon King served as the arbiter of punishment.

Thus, the Dragon-Slaying Saber only executed guilty dragons, not the innocent.

During the Divine Realm War, the dragon race suffered defeat, and the Bright Dragon King fell. The blade vanished from the God Realm, later falling to the Douluo Continent. As a divine artifact, it lay dormant in energy form for years—until one day, a righteous human, in a self-sacrificing act to uphold justice, awakened it. The blade fused with his bloodline and revived him.

From then on, the martial soul known as the Dragon-Slaying Saber passed down a single line of succession—for there could only ever be one.

And now, Sima Jinchi was its current inheritor.

Those who bore this martial soul were all known for their unwavering righteousness and intolerance for corruption. The Dragon-Slaying Saber was undeniably one of the strongest weapon-type martial souls.

If Gu You still had the former Violet-Gold Dragon Emperor bloodline, he might have been affected by the blade's innate suppression. But now, possessing a bloodline equal to the Dragon God's, the blade could no longer restrain him.

The referee glanced at both men and, without further ceremony, announced the start of the match.

From the beginning of the tournament to now, this was arguably the most intense battle yet.

The Blood God Legion was watching. So was the Southern Legion—and most of the Federation. Anyone with access to a soul screen was glued to it.

Gu You and Sima Jinchi didn't act immediately. Instead, they raised their weapons in unison.

As the Golden Dragon Spear lifted, a radiant multicolored light shimmered across Gu You's body. Twin dragon wings unfurled behind him. Points of violet light flickered across his limbs—his second-tier battle armor, Violet-Gold, fully activating.

His body swelled in size, reaching three meters tall. The spear grew with him, and an overwhelming spear intent began to surge from its tip.

Thunderous dragon roars echoed from his body, and his body became wrapped in dazzling, prismatic diamond-shaped dragon scales.

With a powerful roar, Gu You lifted the Golden Dragon Spear high. His wings spread wide, and he floated into the air. His momentum surged, rising higher and higher.

Opposite him, Sima Jinchi gripped his enormous Dragon-Slaying Saber. Four purple and four black soul rings rose from beneath him. His pressure expanded outward like a black storm cloud, causing the air to tremble and warp with faint cracks.

A layer of black mist spread across the Dragon-Slaying Saber. Echoes of dragon souls, mournful and haunting, resonated from the weapon's edge.

Though it was a blade of justice—righteous, grand, and glorious—it carried the cries of countless condemned dragons whose souls had been sealed within for centuries. These cries could shake the hearts of the weak-willed.

To the spectators, it was as if two massive mountains had risen before them—one black, one multicolored—growing taller and taller. The entire stage quaked under their might.

Blood God Camp.

"The Star Dou Battle Network supposedly can't handle three-word battle armor or above…" someone murmured.
