A massive, pitch-black hand slowly stretched out from the vortex. Then, a terrifying abyssal energy wave surged outward like a geyser.
"Di-di, di-di, di-di, di-di..." Piercing alarm sirens began to ring out in every corner of the Blood God Legion, just as their thunderous cheers reached a peak.
Zhang Huanyun, Xue Yi, and all the powerhouses of the legion had just been watching the match. For the Blood God Legion, this had been a momentous event.
The abrupt alarm shocked them all. In the next instant, Zhang Huanyun, Xue Yi, and others flashed away from their locations, racing toward the Abyssal Passage.

"Raaaahhh!" The Demon Emperor roared at the sky. Waves of dark red energy burst from its body, imbuing the bats, making them swell in size, their eyes glowing blood-red. With frenzied bloodlust, they charged forth.
At the passage exit, all soul tool turrets activated. Beams of soul energy and volleys of soul cannon fire formed a net of destruction, bombarding the rushing abyssal creatures.
Many of the creatures were shredded under the barrage, their bodies exploding into clouds of energy and being reabsorbed into the channel. But more continued to surge forward at frightening speed.
By now, the Blood God Legion warriors stationed at various branch tunnels were only just reacting. But their heavy weapons were positioned inside the tunnels and couldn't be retrieved in time.
"Quick! Get outside and defend the main exit!" Orders were issued rapidly. Glowing mechas charged toward the passage exit, forming a defensive line under the cover of soul turret fire.
The abyssal onslaught came so suddenly that there had been no time to prepare. Just moments earlier, all the warriors had been celebrating Gu You's double crown victory—then, in a heartbeat, catastrophe struck.
A mecha was seized from behind by a six-clawed bat. Its bloody claws tore madly at the mech's shield. Over a dozen four-clawed bats swarmed it.
"For the Legion!" a voice roared in anguish from within the mech. The next moment, its core detonated, erupting into a blazing fireball and consuming the surrounding abyssal beasts.
Every Blood God Legion warrior was prepared—falling into the hands of abyssal beasts would mean being devoured and turned into energy. That's why all their mechas were equipped with self-destruct devices. If defeat was certain, they would rather perish than be taken.
One mecha after another exploded just before reaching the tunnel's mouth. Their heroism, paired with the soul turret defenses, bought precious time for others to survive.
The Ironblood Regiment's deputy commander's eyes turned bloodshot. As more and more comrades perished, consumed in the chaos, fury blazed in his heart.
"Hold the line! I said hold the damn line! We cannot let these bastards break through!"
No one could understand how the seal that had held for thousands of years had suddenly failed—how so many abyssal beasts could erupt from the main passage.
This was, without a doubt, the largest Abyssal Tide in history—comparable even to the descent of the Abyssal Plane six thousand years ago.
If they failed to hold the passage, the human world would face utter devastation. No...
