Chapter 371 - Chapter 371: The Unexpected Strike

As Dragon Tianwu's thoughts churned amidst the chaos of battle, his expression suddenly tensed. A strange and indescribable chill had crept into his heart without warning.

This wasn't a normal sensation. As a titled Douluo-level powerhouse, his perception of his surroundings was extremely sharp. The moment that chill emerged, he instinctively sensed danger.

'Something's wrong!'

He didn't know why or how, but something had triggered his sixth sense. His eyes turned sharply toward a specific direction. At first glance, there was no abnormality in the battlefield. Everything seemed orderly—until his gaze fell on a particular Blood God Legion soldier.

This soldier was positioned by a soul cannon platform, responsible for firing long-range energy blasts. His movements and stance were practiced and steady. On the surface, nothing seemed off.

But Dragon Tianwu's martial soul was of the ice and snow element, and in this icy world, his perception was far stronger than most. In this moment—perhaps due to the fact that he wasn't focused on the central battlefield—his spiritual sense caught something subtle. That soldier felt... wrong. Out of place.

He didn't immediately raise an alarm. Instead, he subtly moved toward the figure, quietly channeling his soul power, preparing for anything. He trusted his instincts.

And then—it happened.

The man, as if aware of being watched, suddenly stopped operating the cannon. He stood upright and turned to face Dragon Tianwu.

Tianwu's gaze locked on the face of a youthful-looking man—smiling. But there was something deeply unsettling about that smile. That slight upturn of the lips seemed filled with malevolence.

'This is…'

Before the thought finished forming, the man burst into motion—his body blurring into a cloud of smoke. Not just him. In at least eight other locations throughout the base, eight more figures activated simultaneously. A total of nine people erupted with overwhelming force, hurtling straight toward the core of the Blood God Array.

They moved with astonishing speed, and in a blink, their battle armor flared to life—each of them wearing three-word battle armor. Without exception, they were all titled Douluo-level powerhouses.

What was even more horrifying was the intense, corrupt aura that burst from their bodies. The impact of their sudden presence caused the previously stable Blood God Array to visibly waver, disrupted by the unnatural surge of evil energy.

There was no doubt about it—the Blood God Array was one of the most powerful formations on the entire Douluo Continent, designed specifically to suppress foreign plane invaders. But therein lay the problem: it was tailored to suppress otherworldly beings. It did not react the same way to invaders from this world.

These nine infiltrators were not from the Abyssal Plane.

They were from this very world.

And yet, in an act of desperation or devotion, they charged toward the Blood God Array's nine coordinators with complete disregard for their own safety.

The suddenness of the ambush shocked everyone.

Even Unfeeling Douluo Cao Dezhi hadn't anticipated it. In this remote and heavily fortified snowy mountain, who would have imagined so many enemies were already hidden in their midst?

Mirror Douluo Zhang Huanyun, commanding the battlefield, was the quickest to respond. The moment Dragon Tianwu passed him a warning via spiritual transmission, he sprang into action.

But even then—it was almost too late.

The attackers surged forward like shadows in the storm. One of them grinned as he lunged at Blood One, while simultaneously activating a device strapped to his back. A light flared, golden and fierce, as an object shot skyward.

Zhang Huanyun's eyes widened.

A ninth-grade fixed soul cannon shell.

One of the most devastating weapons known to mankind. A single one of these was enough to level an entire mountaintop. With hundreds of soldiers and key figures of the Blood God Legion gathered here, the devastation would be unimaginable.

He didn't hesitate.

"Mirror Domain!"

With a roar, Zhang Huanyun expanded his domain of pure white light, swallowing the cannon shell into it before it could detonate.

It was a decisive move, showcasing the poise and courage of the Blood God Legion's leader.

He didn't even spare a glance for the nine blood gods holding the array together. As soon as he absorbed the projectile into his domain, he teleported into the center of the array.

With a flick of his wrist, he hurled the fixed cannon shell down the Abyssal passageway—straight at the cluster of approaching Abyssal emperors.

He had made his choice. He couldn't defend both sides at once. The external battlefield, chaotic as it was, still had the Legion soldiers and their high-tech weaponry.

But the inside—where the passage connected to the Abyss—was far more fragile. If Black Empress and her fellow emperors broke through here, the war would be lost in an instant.

This was no time for half-measures.

The ninth-grade fixed cannon shell shrieked through the air, blazing with brilliance as it descended toward the Abyssal elites. Even among limit Douluos, few dared to take one of these attacks head-on.

The Blood God Array was under assault from both within and without.

Dragon Tianwu had already engaged his target. The intruder reached Blood Eight's position just in time to be intercepted by Tianwu's snowstorm barrage. The battlefield erupted in elemental chaos.

But this enemy wasn't weak.

A puff of gray smoke burst from the figure's body, instantly staining the pure snow with shadow. Harsh screams and echoes of terror surrounded Tianwu as spiritual energy clashed with dark power.

"Evil soul master!" Tianwu shouted.

He thrust a hand forward.

A pale blue ice spike burst from the ground, shooting upward. The moment it emerged, a strange resonance occurred—nine streams of elemental essence from the surrounding world converged upon it, fusing with the ice.

The spike rapidly expanded, shimmering with terrifying force.

All the dark aura in its path froze solid.

This was the strength of the Blood God Legion—warriors who had stood against the Abyss for six thousand years, passing their sacred duty from one generation to the next.

Against regular soul masters, evil soul masters had the edge in deception and unpredictability. But in front of a master like Dragon Tianwu, their tricks crumbled.

The enemy's expression shifted. He swiftly retreated, realizing he'd badly underestimated his opponent.

When the elemental ice had surged through him, it was as if his soul had been frozen. His power was being stifled at the source.

Tianwu didn't give chase. Instead, he quickly shifted his awareness to the rest of the battlefield, preparing for the next threat.

Black Empress moved.

From the shadows of the passage, she and six other Abyssal emperors surged upward with terrifying speed. This was the moment she'd been waiting for.

An internal betrayal combined with an external strike.

That was the plan.

It was why she had waited. Her allies in this world—evil soul masters—had played their part well. Now she and her kin had a real chance to break through the Blood God Array.

The once-stable battlefield was now on the verge of collapse.

Cao Dezhi hadn't foreseen internal betrayal—not here, not now. And not with nine simultaneous infiltrators.

Zhang Huanyun, meanwhile, had acted with complete decisiveness, fully aware that if the Abyssal emperors reached the surface, everything would end in catastrophe.

By choosing to stop them with a fixed cannon shell, he risked everything.

As chaos reigned, the other evil soul masters clashed with the defenders near the platforms. But Blood God warriors were no ordinary soldiers.

They had spent their lives training for this. They held fast.

Tianwu's freezing elemental domain expanded rapidly, suppressing nearby evil soul masters. Some fled, realizing their ambush had lost its element of surprise.

And in the eye of the storm—one golden figure stood like a divine spear.

Gu You.

Now glowing brighter than ever, empowered by the Blood God Array, his golden spear trembling in his grip, and the light of the heavens shining through his soul.
