Morning sun had barely touched the sky when Elyria slowly sat up in the bed. Her back ached like hell, and her legs felt weak. Her body was too warm.
She touched her lower spine and let out a quiet breath, trying not to wince.
'Fuck!'
Then she looked beside her after cussing and there he was.
Auren.
He lay there like a corpse... pale, exhausted, not even twitching.
Well... almost a corpse.
She leaned closer and slipped her finger under his nose, checking for breath.
"...Still breathing," she murmured.
A small sigh escaped her lips. "Good. I didn't kill him."
She pulled the blanket off herself and slid out of the bed. Her dress was on the floor, thrown carelessly during last night's chaos. She picked it up and pulled it over her sore body.
Her eyes drifted to her skin.
