----------------------------------------------------------
In front of the courtyard, sunlight filtered through the lush, leafy trees. Skadi sat on a thick tree branch, golden specks of light falling on her. As the wind rustled the leaves, shifting patterns of light and shadow moved across her body. She raised her hand, and a speck of light landed on her palm. Her purple hair swayed with the gentle breeze.
Watching the light speck move slightly on her hand, Skadi's mind once again replayed the events of last night. Originally, when she returned, she thought about enduring it. However, after going back last night, the more she thought about it, the more annoyed she became. Unbelievable, truly unbelievable! Simply unforgivable! She never expected Asher to be that kind of person!
Next time she saw him, she would definitely freeze him into an ice sculpture. Teasing a goddess came with a price!
"Miss Skadi, what are you doing in the tree?" The voice of a young man came from beneath the tree. Skadi looked down. Asher was standing under the tree at some unknown point, looking up at her. How dare he speak to me so casually? Skadi's gaze grew increasingly hostile, and she snorted, "Before saying hello, don't you have something to say to me first?"
"What do you mean?" Asher asked, puzzled.
"An apology, an apology!" Skadi raised her staff, her gaze growing even more hostile.
"An apology? Why should I apologize?" Asher lowered his head, looking utterly bewildered. Asher genuinely didn't understand the situation. Why would he suddenly need to apologize to Skadi? Was it about not using the staff to guide his mana much these past two days? No, that's not right... there shouldn't be any need for an apology for something like that, right? After all, he'd been quite busy these past few days, so it was understandable that he hadn't guided his mana.
"Did I do something?" Asher looked up again, asking in confusion. But when he looked up, he paused slightly, then quietly averted his gaze. Skadi was wearing a purple long dress with a high slit, along with thigh-high boots. The skirt swayed with the breeze, vaguely revealing a beautiful sight. This angle... was not good.
Skadi clearly didn't notice Asher's subtle change. She said angrily, "How dare you even ask?!" Last night, that guy tried to kiss her! And now he's acting like nothing happened... simply unforgivable! Asher tilted his head in confusion.
He racked his brain, but he truly couldn't recall doing anything that would require an apology to Skadi. After all, Asher was in Morgan's room last night, so how could he know that Morgan had transformed into Asher last night and thoroughly teased Skadi?
Asher scratched his head again and then said, "If there's nothing else, I'll be going." Asher figured Skadi was probably just in a bad mood and wanted to pick a fight for no reason. It was like a street thug intentionally bumping into someone and then saying, "Hey, you bumped into me, pay up." In short, she was just looking for trouble for no reason. Asher felt that Skadi was probably in this situation right now.
"Stop!" Skadi's voice came from behind. But when Asher turned around, Skadi remained silent. She didn't know how to bring up what happened last night; she just felt a bit embarrassed. She was a goddess; it didn't seem right to quibble over such things, did it?
Asher stopped, glanced at Skadi, who was biting her lip but still not speaking. After a moment's thought, he finally kindly reminded her, "Oh, by the way, Miss Skadi."
"What?" Skadi asked subconsciously.
"From this angle, I can see your underwear, you know?"
"Wh.." Skadi hurriedly covered her skirt, then suddenly looked up and glared at Asher. Probably because both her hands weren't supporting the branch, as soon as Skadi covered her skirt with her hands, her feet immediately became unstable, and she fell from the tree. She immediately raised her finger, about to use magic, but at that moment, someone embraced her first.
"Are you alright?" Asher asked, holding Skadi in his arms.
Skadi froze, her gaze instinctively darting to Asher's lips.
Remembering last night, she twisted her body forcefully and loudly said, "Let go of me! Or I'll turn you into an ice block right now!" As she spoke, a faint blue light truly shone from her fingertips.
Asher blinked and immediately placed Skadi flat on the ground. Actually, he had originally intended to just let go, but he was afraid of the goddess throwing a tantrum, so he decided to obey her words in a gentler way.
"What are you doing?!" Skadi glared, asking furiously.
"Oh my goodness, didn't you tell me to let go? I swear I didn't do it on purpose." Skadi's eyes grew cold, "If you use that tone again, don't blame me for being impolite!"
As she spoke, a thin layer of ice immediately formed on Asher's right hand, melting away in an instant. Clearly, this was Skadi's warning. Does that mean your previous threats were all fake? Asher mumbled inwardly, stood up, and said, "Then I'll be going. Lily is still waiting for me at the administrative office." After saying that, he didn't give Skadi a chance to speak and fled the courtyard as if escaping. Clearly, Skadi was angry now, and Asher didn't want to provoke her.
"This guy..." Skadi stood stunned for a long while before getting up from the ground, a look of annoyance on her face. He really was teasing her, wasn't he? Suddenly acting like that last night, and then acting like nothing happened today. Wait... Could it be, is he waiting for me to speak first?! Skadi's pupils slowly widened, then a cold smile appeared on her face. Even if she truly wanted to fall in love, it was impossible for her to actively pursue someone, especially a little brat like him. Just wait, what you did to me last night, I will absolutely repay a hundredfold tonight! Skadi clutched her staff tightly, secretly making up her mind.
...
Meanwhile, Asher, on the other hand, was naturally unaware that he had inexplicably become someone's target. As soon as he arrived at the administrative office, he looked through the window and saw several people working. Artoria was among them, and so was Morgan le Fay today.
"Sir Gawain and Sir Agravain seem to be in low spirits...?" Asher glanced at the two, who were bowing their heads and looking dispirited, and muttered to himself with some confusion.
"They're probably just exhausted from work or something. Let them rest a bit today," Morgan le Fay said, smiling at Asher as she emerged from the administrative office at some unknown point. But Asher merely glanced at her, then averted his gaze, silently turning to look at the scenery outside.
"What's wrong?" Morgan blinked, asking in confusion.
"What do you mean, 'what's wrong'?" Asher asked testily.
"What's wrong?" Morgan asked again.
"Last night, you told me to come find you, right?" Asher
asked.
"Hmm... it seems that was the case," Morgan tapped her palm, showing a look of sudden realization.
"Then why was Lily in your room?" Asher asked.
"I don't know, how would I know such a thing?" Morgan turned her face away and started whistling, though no sound came out. Frankly, given Morgan's age and her usual cold demeanor, such actions were quite unsuitable, but perhaps because of the contrasting cuteness, she looked unexpectedly adorable, so much so that Asher's resentment in his heart significantly diminished.
"Oh, right, what's with the ice on your hand?" Morgan suddenly grabbed Asher's right hand and asked. Asher's heart skipped a beat. Sister Morgan can even see that?
The ice on the back of his hand had already disappeared.
"Tell me the truth!" Morgan asked again, probably because her voice had risen quite a bit, so much so that even the attention of the few people in the administrative office fell on the two outside. Asher had
no choice but to roughly explain what had just happened.
Morgan was speechless for a moment, not expecting that her teasing last night would actually affect Asher.
"Do you know what's going on, Sister Morgan?" Seeing Morgan's speechless expression, Asher couldn't help but ask.
"I don't know," Morgan recovered, her eyes flickering slightly as she shook her head. Then, after a slight pause, she continued. "Oh, by the way, Ash, you'll sleep in my room again tonight." Asher was stunned: "Huh?"
"Just listen to me," Morgan said.
"What about you?" Asher asked subconsciously. Morgan smiled, "I have something to do tonight."
