Chapter 303 - Chapter 301: Boys Need to Protect Themselves When Away From Home

At the border of the Land of Demons, a valley—or what used to be a valley.

A group of attendants stood in shock, watching the valley collapse before their eyes.

"That's terrifying. This must be the power of a Divine One, right?"

"Hard to imagine—could this really be something a human is capable of?"

Even Shanchuan, who had also been rescued, felt bewildered. Could the Divine One really go this far? Had he been too quick to betray his own people like that traitor?

Seiki asked nearby, "Lord Shanchuan, would you mind telling us something about that Divine One? I'm quite curious."

Shanchuan hurriedly replied, "That puppeteer…"

An attendant glared at him, "Weren't you calling it the Divine One just now?"

Shanchuan answered defiantly, "That was just to trick the enemy! If I hadn't lured the Stone Statue Puppets here, how could Lord Seiki eliminate all the enemies at once?"

Everyone stared at him in shock. Could someone really be that shameless?

Seeing everyone at a loss for words, Shanchuan nodded contentedly. "Actually, I've never seen that puppeteer's true face either. But one thing is certain—Lady Miko's palace has already been secretly taken over by that puppeteer!"

Upon hearing this, everyone freaked out.

"What? Does that mean Lady Miko is in grave danger right now?"

"Damn it, we must hurry back!"

Seeing everyone's expectant gazes, Seiki hesitated for a moment before turning to Shanchuan. "Any other intelligence?"

Shanchuan chuckled nervously. "No more enemy-related intel, but what about info on Lady Miko?"

Seiki nodded. "Go ahead."

Now, Shanchuan seemed energized. "Lady Miko is 170 centimeters tall, her vital measurements are 90…"

Suddenly, the group's gazes turned dangerous. "Why would you know such things?"

Rubbing his palms together, Shanchuan replied, "I just have an eye for beauty, that's all. Those numbers can totally be guessed just by looking. Speaking of Lady Miko…"

Pfft!

Before he could finish, Shanchuan was pierced through the heart by a gray streak of energy.

Seiki lowered his finger and said to the embarrassed crowd, "Let's go. Lady Miko is waiting for us!"

Nodding continuously, everyone followed him.

...

The sky had just begun to brighten, light blue dotted with a few remaining stars.

Outside the palace, groups of soldiers were patrolling back and forth.

"These palace guards must all be Blood Puppets!" Seiki whispered, hiding in the shadows.

"Then should we find a weak point in the defenses and quietly take down the guards before storming in?" one attendant suggested.

"No." Seiki shook his head slightly. "When I destroyed those Stone Statue Puppets earlier, I could tell they were being controlled. As soon as one is defeated, the controller will instantly know."

"Then what do we do?"

"You just need to protect yourselves. I'll sneak in quietly to save her."

Everyone was well aware of Seiki's abilities and knew they'd only be a hindrance if they followed. "Then we leave it to you, Lord Seiki!"

Seiki nodded and summoned a small Katsuyu. He inscribed a technique onto its back, letting it crawl along the eaves and into the building. Then he vanished in a flash, teleporting to the Katsuyu's location using the Flying Thunder God technique.

After dismissing the summoning, Seiki glanced around cautiously.

"No wonder this is the prestigious lineage of the Lady Miko—the entire place is filled with chakra barriers and seals!" Seiki thought to himself as he stealthily moved through the palace in search of his target.

At this moment, in the main hall…

Miroku had her long legs stretched out over the coffee table, lazily snacking, until she sensed an unusual chakra fluctuation. Immediately, she straightened up and corrected her posture.

With a gentle wave of her right hand, a mirror appeared in front of her, reflecting Seiki's every move.

Looking at Seiki in the mirror, Miroku slightly licked her luscious lips with a hint of eagerness. "That guy finally showed up. Now, I just need to figure out how to subtly expose my weakness without arousing suspicion!"

After a moment's thought, Miroku glanced at her ample chest and chuckled lightly. "As for the weakness, why not let that woman help me again?"

Meanwhile, in a side hall…

Miroku, who had been pacing anxiously, suddenly stopped in her tracks as a water mirror abruptly appeared before her.

Seeing the scene reflected in the mirror, Miroku's expression drastically changed. "Could that demon possibly be trying to…"

Realizing a terrifying possibility, she could no longer remain still. Miroku rushed out, actively breaking through the barrier.

However, just as she had run halfway, an invisible barrier blocked her path. "This must be the demon's barrier. Damn it!"

Clearly, she wasn't the only one skilled in chakra barriers.

"Never thought that demon would learn our techniques too! Fortunately, this barrier isn't that strong," Miroku mentally reassured herself. "I must break through it quickly!"

...

In the corridor.

"This sensation… have I been discovered?" Seiki raised his eyebrows but hadn't yet reacted when he heard a whisper coming from within the wall: "Lord Seiki, please walk straight ahead. When you reach the fork in the road, turn left. Then, at the third crossroads, turn left again—you will reach the main hall where I am."

"I understand." Seiki responded and followed the instructions.

He wasn't concerned about traps; with his current strength, no ordinary trap could possibly contain him.

Following the path without obstruction, Seiki finally reached the main hall, where Miroku was sitting in the chair looking deeply troubled.

Upon seeing Seiki, Miroku excitedly stood up. "Lord Seiki, you're really here!"

[Lady Miko, what exactly is going on?]

"Please come in first, Lord Seiki." Miroku opened a small gap in the barrier to let him in.

After Seiki entered, Miroku explained, "The demon sealed within the Land of Demons somehow managed to escape, and I've barely kept it outside by relying on the barriers left behind by generations of Mikos."

Seiki nodded thoughtfully before asking, "Then where has that demon gone?"

"I don't know either," Miroku lightly shook her head, her expression filled with concern. "It secretly took control of the palace guards before leaving, although it returns every night to attack the barrier. I suspect… that the demon's power becomes stronger at night!"

"I see!" Seiki suddenly understood.

"So, I've got an idea," Miroku said. "Lord Seiki, you can hide at night and secretly follow that demon once it leaves. Then when daylight comes, we can completely eliminate that demon!"

"Sounds good in theory… but—" Seiki frowned slightly. "It seems there's no place here for me to hide."

Miroku said bashfully, stuttering slightly, "W-well… there actually is another place we could hide."

"Where?" Seiki hurriedly asked.

Miroku shyly touched his burning cheeks. "M-my bed."

Seiki: (...)

Miroku continued, "We could both hide under the covers and… press a bit closer together. We might just fool that demon."
