Naruto was upstairs in the Hatake household and was thinking about someone who he could not stop thinking about lately: Hinata. Hinata had grown to be gorgeous. However, he found other gorgeous women unremarkable and did not think about them at all. He had a hard time not staring at her when she smiled so beautifully while talking with her best friend, Ino. When Hinata would be with their little brother, Minato Hatake, she would play a game called "Protect the Princess." In this game, Hinata would wear a tiara and act as the princess while young Minato protected her with foam swords, as Naruto or Kakashi playfully attacked. It was adorable to him how easily Hinata would play with their younger brother. Naruto once casually mentioned that Hinata would make a wonderful mother, causing her to pass out with a huge red face. Naruto saw how delighted in love Kakashi was with Anko every day. He saw how Kakashi would surprise Anko with dango sticks. He saw how the usually stoic Kakashi would smile so largely when he surprised his wife. He saw how Kakashi would always want to be around Anko. How Kakashi always told Anko how good-looking she was. Through watching a happily married Kakashi, he could not help but wonder if he felt the same way about Hinata. He had a feeling that this was the case. He believed that he might be in love with Hinata. But he really wanted to chat with his father figure to find out what his emotions meant. But he obviously could not do that in this house. Because Anko and Hinata are such elite ninja, they would immediately understand what he was discussing with Kakashi. Kakashi sometimes had to use silencing seals to plan surprise birthday parties for Anko because she loved to eavesdrop. So how would he possibly talk to Kakashi about this and have nobody find out? Naruto's eyes went wide; he could lie about wanting to go camping with Kakashi to get away from the house. That would be such a wonderful idea. Naruto walked downstairs and looked through the rooms in the house, but he did not see Kakashi. He saw Anko in the kitchen. Anko, do you know where Kakashi is? Yeah, Hinata wanted some pointers on the jutsu Kakashi taught her. She used it in the field for the first time. Anko realized that Naruto had a specific facial expression indicating he wanted to discuss something important. The only thing she could think of was that he wanted to talk about Hinata with Kakashi. Kakashi and Anko were not blind; they saw the blonde staring at Hinata a lot. Kakashi and Anko actually had developed a codeword for whenever Naruto would want to talk to them about it. The aim was to ensure that Hinata would not notice, as all Hyuga were extremely observant. Anko looked back at Naruto and said, "One second, I will get him." Anko walked outside and said the big blonde needs your help, Kakashi. Kakashi immediately recognized the codeword "big blonde" and knew that Naruto was ready to talk about Hinata. Kakashi eye smiled at Hinata. Looks like Naruto needs something. Hinata smiled back at her father figure. "Thanks for your help, Kakashi." "Ma Ma, any time, my Hina-chan." Kakashi walked back into the kitchen and saw Naruto's nervous look. Having raised Naruto for many years, Kakashi recognized that Naruto's hand behind his head indicated he was nervous about discussing something serious. Naruto said, "Can we go camping?" Kakashi, knowing that Naruto did not want to have this talk in front of Hinata, eye-smiled and said yes. Kakashi and Naruto packed up to leave. Hinata gave Kakashi a hug and said, "Be safe." Don't worry, Hina-chan, I am still a jonin-level ninja. Anko gave him a quick kiss. See you later. "Ma Ma, I will see you later," he said. Kakashi walked to his kid, who had a wide smile and said, "When you get back, can we play protect the princess again!?" Kakashi genuinely smiled at his kid, who looked like a clone of him and said, "Of course, Minato." Ma Ma, have a good day, Dad. Everyone in the room started laughing because it was the first time Kakashi's mini-me used his verbal tick. Kakashi and Naruto left the house and Kakashi felt fulfilled. He had a wonderful wife and had a kid that he loved both dearly. And he is a father figure to Naruto and Hinata; he was thrilled that Anko had healed him, which allowed him to have so much joy in his life.
Once Kakashi and Naruto started walking towards the camping site, Kakashi brought out his famous Ichia Ichia Paradise book. Naruto smiled at the memory of Hinata and him finding Kakashi with Anko on one arm and Minato on the other. Naruto remembered watching Kakashi create a clone that retrieved his favorite smut book and placed it in front of him, allowing him to read without moving Anko and Minato from his arms. You always read that thing whenever you can. Ma Ma, once you have a child, you will understand how fleeting it can be to find time for the things you want to do. Once Kakashi and Naruto made it to the campsite, Kakashi and Naruto started a fire late at night. The sky was filled with stars, and trees encircled them. Kakashi still had his prized smut material in his hand. Kakashi could tell that Naruto was having a tough time bringing up what he wanted to talk about. Kakashi turned to Naruto and said, "What do you want to talk about, Naruto?" Naruto responded with a hand behind his head. "Um, well, Kakashi, I wanted to know how you know that you like a girl more than a normal friend." Ma Ma, that is a very deep question. I would say the answer to that question would be intimacy. Kakashi could tell that Naruto was confused by what he meant. For example, regarding Anko, I want to know everything about her. The sad moments she has had. I am interested in learning about the joyful moments she has experienced. I want to touch her intimately. I want her to trust me intimately and feel safe with me. Those are things you will never want to do with a friend. Naruto could not stop thinking about wanting to do all the things Kakashi explained with Hinata. His face went red just pondering the possibility of holding her hand and kissing her. However, Naruto felt a bit uneasy about whether starting to date Hinata would make things awkward in the household. Even though he knew they were not blood-related, they had a very brother-and-sister-like dynamic. Would it even be worth ever telling Hinata that he loves her? Naruto "I have been waiting to talk to you for a while about this," Kakashi said. Anko and I have noticed the way you have been looking at Hinata. Naruto's eyes went wide and his face went red. You guys are not siblings by blood. I will not fully reveal Hinata's secret, but let's just say that before you became siblings, she was aware of you. Naruto's eyes went wide. Well, yes, I was in the same class as Hinata, but we barely spoke. Naruto I cannot explain the details because it is Hinata's story to share. However, I want to emphasize that Anko and I fully support your relationship with her 100%. It would be different if you two did not have a history before we took you both in. But because of Hinata's secret, you do not have to worry about our approval. Kakashi put down his book and sternly looked at Naruto. "However, please remember that she is like a daughter to me; if you hurt her, I will allow Anko's snakes to have their way with your balls." Naruto's eyes went wide, and his hands covered his family jewels. He nervously nodded his head. Naruto could not figure out what Kakashi meant by "she was aware of me before we became siblings." But he knew that there had to be a good reason, and it felt like a weight lifted off his shoulders. He was so anxious that he would not be able to date the girl he loved since they were technically siblings. I will ask her out when I get back. Naruto had a giant smile on his face and said, "Thanks for the help, Kakashi." Ma Ma, any time, Naruto.
Kakshi woke up, his years of highly trained senses screaming out to him. Throughout his many years as a shinobi, he had never relaxed his guard. But Naruto and Kakashi were in the woods in the Land of Water, still in their home village. So they doubted that anyone would attack them in their sleep. So they both went to bed at the same time without one person keeping watch. They both slept inside a tent. But what was very odd was the smell. The smell of his homeland, the hidden leaf, was wafting through the area. Kakashi tapped Naruto awake. Naruto was going to make a groaning noise but Kakashi immediately put his hand on his mouth and put his finger to his mouth, telling him to be quiet. Kakashi could immediately tell that Naruto was aware of the enemies outside. Kakashi and Naruto both got out of his tent. Kakashi drew a kunai and assumed a defensive stance. And Naruto got out his Hiramekarei blades and went into a defensive stance. "Kakashi Hatake, it has been a while since I have seen Sakumo's brat." Kakashi's eyes widened in recognition of the voice, but he was in complete disbelief. Two people with black robes and red clouds walked towards Kakashi and Naruto. One had blond hair and blue eyes with a black diamond tattoo on her head and was a woman who looked to be in her 30s. The other one was a tall, long, white-haired man with broad shoulders with red straight lines going down his face. Jiraiya and Tsunade of the Sannin? What in the world are you doing here? "What? I can not see my godson? "I had no clue your godfather was one of the Sannin," Naruto said to Kakashi. No, Naruto, he is your godfather. Naruto's eyes went wide. Why did you not tell me I had a godfather, Kakashi? Because that man has known who you were since you were born. With your parents dying due to the nine-tails attack, he should have taken care of you. But he never came to see you. Jiraiya pointed to Kashi with a sly smile on his face. "You, of all people, appreciate my research." But that is beside the point. We are here today because we need to take Naruto. He needs to be a sacrifice for our plan. "What plan is that, Jiraiya?" Kakashi said with a stern face. Jiraiya had a crazed grin on his face and replied, "The moon eye plan." The plan is to capture the Jinchuriki to activate the moon eye plan. A powerful and gallant genjutsu will be placed on the moon that will allow everyone to live in their dream world! Everyone gets to be their ideal selves without pain or death or failure. Don't worry, Kakashi. In my dream world, Naruto will be alive, and so will Minato and Kushina. And Tsunade will be my wife. "The dream world is a dream worth fighting for!" Jiraiya and Tsunade both crazily screamed at the same time. Naruto and Kakashi's eyes went wide when listening to the crazed sanin. "Kakashi, were they always crazy?" Naruto said. No, Naruto, they were both very reasonable and intelligent the last time I saw them. I guess the fall of the village drove them to insanity. "I also must thank you Kakashi for bringing Naruto with you. This is the first time he has been outside the village, not with at least two other team members," Jiraiya said. Alright, Naruto, come with your godfather; we can catch up before you are sacrificed for the fantastic moon eye plan. Naruto and Kakashi both took battle-ready stances. I guess you guys want to fight. But last time I checked, Kakashi, you were not on a Sanin's level. So how are you going to fight two?
Tsunade tapped Jiraiya to get his attention. "Jiraiya, Kakashi's Sharingan would give your ninjutsu issues because he's able to match the signs. I think I am a better matchup for him since I am so taijutsu focused. On top of that, you came prepared to fight the Jinchuriki anyway." You take Naruto; I will take Kakashi. Sounds good with me, Tsuna. Immediately Tsunade threw a punch at Kakashi. Kakashi managed to dodge the punch. She threw a punch in a way that she was standing with her back turned to Naruto. After the strike, she found herself standing between Naruto and Kakashi. "Your enemy is me, Kakashi." Tsunade said to Kakashi. Naruto started running toward Tsunade but Kakashi yelled at him. Naruto! They want to separate us. It is better for us this way since they have been fighting so long together. Naruto, knowing that Kakashi had elite battle sense, said, "Yes, Kakashi." Naruto, since Jiraiya is a Kage-level ninja, please activate your jinchuriki state immediately. Yes, Kakashi. Tsunade rushed at Kakashi and said, "I am your opponent, Kakashi. Kakashi tried to dodge one of Tsunade's punches but it hit his shoulder, sending him flying into a tree. Kakashi said, "I know I cannot beat you without this," and he took off his eye patch, revealing a Sharingan eye. Tsunade saw Kakashi making hand signs, but Tsunade punched the ground, making giant cracks and collapsing them. This forced Kakashi to stop his hand signs and jump to a tree. Tsunade sprinted and punched a hole through the tree, knocking it down. Kakashi fell towards Tsunade, who was ready to strike Kakashi with all her strength. But instead, she hit a log, and she saw Kakshi in another tree. Tsunade had a snarl on her face and said, "That darn substitution jutsu." Looks like this fight is going to be a game of cat and mouse, Kakashi.
Jiraiya saw his godson. Naruto immediately turns on his 6-tailed Jinchuriki cloak. He saw how the orange cloak of sinister energy enveloped Naruto's Hiramekarei blades. The blades grew 6 times as big as they used to be. The blades resembled a comically oversized sword, making Kisame's Samehada sword appear small in comparison. Jiraiya said to Naruto, "I trained your father, you brat. You think I am scared of you? He was a prodigy. Don't worry; in my dream world, Minato will be alive. And you will look up to me as your godfather like you should have." Naruto growled back. Really, if you were alive, Godfather, then where were you this whole time? I was beaten; I could not even buy things from stalls without a huge price markup! Nobody cared about me. Everyone is always talking about the demon child. My godfather was one of the legendary Sannin, a title given to the most powerful ninja in my world. Where was he? Why did I have to live as an orphan when my godfather was a legendary Sannin? No, you are just a sad, broken old man who cannot move past his mistakes. And the only person who took responsibility to raise me is Kakashi. If you believe for even a moment that you can verbally manipulate me into willingly participating in your "For The Dreamworld Craziness," you are mistaken! Believe it!!
Jiraiya, noticing that Naruto was preparing to attack him, made hand signs to perform the Toad Oil Bullet technique. Sticky oil bullets moved toward Naruto. Naurto made a horizontal slash with his Hiramekarei blades and said Wind Release Vacuum sword. This made a horizontal blade of wind that cut through all of the sticky oil bullets and went straight at Jiraiya. Jiriya had to lie on the ground to get under the horizontal slash but was utterly amazed by his godson. He knew from his research that his godson was exceptionally skilled with wind techniques, but witnessing it in person was truly impressive. That C-rank attack that he just used looked like an A-ranked one. Jiraiya saw Naruto running at him with impressive speed. Once Jiraiya got on his feet, he saw another otherworldly-sized sword swing at him, and he felt his body fly through the air. The attack threw Jiraiya through the trees. He was amazed at how his grandson had so much speed and power when the sword hit him; that reminded him of Tsunade. Jiraiya put a hand on his chest and could feel that blood was dripping from the sword strike he just took from Naruto. It was not deep enough to be fatal, but it did send a message. If Naruto continued to use his wind techniques from a distance to prepare for his speed blitzes at close range, Jiraiya would lose this fight. Naruto was an above-average Kage-level ninja. His attacks presented a challenging stylistic matchup for Jiraiya. Jiraiya knew he only had one way to win this fight but Naruto would need to make a mistake for it to work. Naruto flashed 40 feet away from him. Jiraiya, through decades of sparring with Minato, reacted without even thinking about it. Jiraiya made a Rasengan and moved it to behind the left side of his back, which shocked a stunned and spinning Naruto. Naruto was thrown into a tree through the impact of the rasengan. Naruto was grunting in pain and he saw Jiraiya walking toward him. "I see that you have learned Minato's Hiraishin technique. You must have marked me when you hit me with your sword. But I can tell that you have not learned how to use it for longer than a month, have you, Naruto?" Naruto's eyes went wide. How do you know? Minato took about 6 months after creating the technique to get used to the lag and strain that the Hirashin puts on the body when moving to strike. After you used the Hiraishin to get behind me, it took your body a second to attack me. I was able to counter through instinct because of my years of honed experience sparring with Minato. Jiraiya saw Naruto jump to his feet from the ground, and he knew this was his shot. He put all of his chakra on his feet. And since Naruto had to regain his balance while trying to run away to create distance. Jiraiya was able to slap Naruto's chest and said 5 tetragram seal. The seal flashed. And Naruto felt all of the strength exit his body. He felt incredible pain, like his chakra was sealed away from him. Jiraiya said, "Naruto, I have sealed off your biju chakra. When such an event happens, you experience an extreme amount of pain. This is the perfect time to put you to sleep for the dream world plan. As Naruto saw a massive rasengan form in Jiraiya's palm, Jiraiya said, "Don't worry; in the dreamworld you will only know peace and happiness." Naruto closed his eyes, waiting for a pain that never came, just the sound of a grunt. He opened his eyes to see gray hair he knew too well looking back at him. Blood was coughing from his mouth, and a massive hole in his chest and stomach leaked blood like a faucet. Kakashi's blood was leaking on him, but all Naruto could see was Kakashi's peaceful smile as he said, "I love you, my son."
Naruto wished it was a dream. He wished that the face coughing blood at him was just a figment of his imagination. He wished he had not gotten so cocky with Jiraiya so that Kakashi would not have to do this. Naruto knew that the size of the hole in Kakashi's chest meant he would die any minute now. Tears streamed down Naruto's face uncontrollably. With the facial expression of someone who just lost everything, he could not stop his thoughts from racing. What was the point of having important people if he could not protect them? How could he face his family? How could he face Anko when the reason why she did not have a husband was because of him? How could she ever forgive someone she treated like a son causing her beloved husband's death? How could he face Hinata when the whole reason why they were here was something as insignificant as him realizing he loved her? That seemed so insignificant now with Kakashi's blood flowing all over him. What would Hinata say? Naruto I know my father figure Kakashi is dead but I am more happy that you love me? No, she will hate the person who took the only real father figure she ever had away. And she would never open up her heart to him for the rest of her life. And then Minato. Someone named after his father. How could he ever be a big brother to Minato again? Sorry, Minato, but your father, Kakashi, died due to Naruto's weakness. However, we can still play the game "Protect the Princess" together. He knew that he needed to get Kakashi's body back home. Naruto, driven by an adrenaline rush, pushed away the pain that was racing through his body. He jumped up with Kakashi in his arms. His body was covered in blood, and he was coughing. Naruto threw his Hiramekarei sword at a tree and then used Hiraishin to teleport to it. Tsunade was running towards Naruto, but Jiraiya placed his hand on her shoulder to stop her. We will not be able to catch up to him if he uses Hiraishin to escape. I am honestly surprised he can even move; it must be the adrenaline. Naruto could only look at the eyes that no longer fluttered. He used his sword to Hiraishin from one tree branch to another. He completely zoned out everything except for the face that would never breathe again. The pain from his biju chakra seemed so insignificant now with a dying Kakashi in his arms. 30 minutes later Naruto ran through the Mizukage's window, which had Itachi Uchiha in his office. Itachi had never seen such emptiness on Naruto's ever overly positive face, as if he were a man who had reached the end of his rope. But then the reason why became obvious when blood-covered Kakashi Hatake was in his arms. Itachi ran to Kakashi and performed a basic medical exam using the techniques that Anbu were taught in the Leaf Village. Itachi looked at Naruto with a caring, calm expression and said " Kakashi has been dead for 15 minutes. There is sadly nothing that can be done to save him now." Itachi asked, "Naruto, what happened?" Mizukage-sama, we were attacked by Jiraiya and Tsunade. Naruto saw Itachi's eyes go wide at being attacked by two sanin. They said that they were apart of a group called the Akatsuki. Apparently they need to capture the Jinchuriki for a moon eye plan where they will create a dream world for everyone. Naruto spoke the next sentence while displaying a lifeless facial expression that no teenager should ever have. Kakashi died protecting me, and I ran away using the Hiraishin. Itachi intended to comfort Naruto by placing his hand on him, but he witnessed Naruto throw his Hiramekarei sword out of the broken window and then use Hiraishin to teleport to it. He saw flashes of light as Naruto Hirishaned away. Itachi really hated this part of the job. He had to tell the Hatake family that they lost a father and husband. He also lost a friend and his former ANBU captain from the Leaf Village. Itachi walked to the Hatake household with a scroll with Kakashi's body and ninja headband. Itachi knocked on the Hatake's household door. Anko and Hinata, with Minato cradled in Anko's arms, opened it. Anko was surprised to see Itachi at her door. "Oh, Mizukage-sama, how can I help you?" Well, there is no good way to tell you this. Jiraiya and Tsunade attacked Naruto and Kakashi during their trip. Kakashi died saving Naruto's life. Anko and Hinata had tears streaming down their faces. Itachi handed Anko the scroll with Kakashi's body stored. And his headband. He had some serious wounds. This is something you should take to a mortician due to how bad he looks. Hinata asked, "Where is Naruto-kun?" After explaining what happened, he Hiraishaned away somewhere. He had a face of complete emptiness. Itachi saw the worried face on Hinata. Anko put his hand on her and said, "I am sure he just needs space." Itachi said, "I am sure you guys are aware that back in Konoha, Kakashi was my ANBU captain. He used to be a man with a traumatizing darkness. But through this house he found peace. It was something that warmed my heart so much." Itachi bowed to Anko and Hinata, which is something you would never see a Kage of any country do. "Thank you for saving my captain's soul." With that, Itachi walked away with a tear streaming down his face, leaving a household that used to be so positive but now only had sadness to give.
