Chapter 5 - Jungle Law – Survival

I headed back into the jungle again. This time, not just to wander around, but to actually discover new stuff. I was pumped—I'd prepared myself properly this time.

Moving toward what I thought was the center of the jungle, I ended up back where I'd seen that armored dinosaur before. But what I saw instead were some deep claw marks on the ground... Clearly, a serious fight had gone down here.

I don't know if that dinosaur's dead or not, but one of my new goals is to eat it someday. Yeah, eat it! Just the thought of being the first human to eat dino meat is wild enough to get me excited.

I searched around the claw marks and found a few big bloodstains. Looked like both sides took a beating, but neither managed to finish the other off. After poking around a bit more, I found a few pieces of dinosaur hide. That's when it hit me—maybe I could make some armor out of it.

So I grabbed the pieces, poked holes in them with my reinforced spear, and tied them together with dried roots. Then I set them aside. Didn't want to carry extra weight during my exploration, even if my endurance is pretty solid.

Next, I headed to where I'd seen that giant goat before. Found some bones there. Made me realize that running away back then was definitely the right call.

The deeper I went, the more the sound of birds and the smell of damp earth and grass pulled me in... when suddenly, this weird chill crept up my spine from behind. I snapped into alert mode right away.

Scanned the area—up, down, all around—until I heard this rustling noise. Turned around and BAM! A massive anaconda was silently slithering toward me!

Damn this jungle... why does a new, even scarier creature show up every time?

The snake lunged at me in a flash. Probably wanted to swallow me whole. I dodged and stabbed it in the back with my spear. But all I got was a white scratch.

Its damn skin was tough as hell...

Dodged a few more strikes, but before I knew it, the thing had wrapped itself around me and started squeezing the life outta me.

Right then, I heard the snap of my spear breaking. It shattered!

Crap... now what?

Think... think... THINK...

Ah! Got it!

I grabbed the broken spearhead lying on the snake's upper body and boosted my strength to the max. The blade started to crack from the pressure. And just as the snake opened its mouth to gulp me down, I hurled the blade into its mouth with all the force I had.

BOOM!

Its mouth turned into ground beef. I struggled loose and got out.

Now, you might be asking, "Why didn't you just boost your whole body instead?" Well, if I don't have the capacity for it, I either explode or pass out from exhaustion.

This damn fight was brutal.

I dragged the snake back with me. Honestly, with how tough its hide is, I don't need the dino skin anymore. I mean, this snake barely got scratched by my powered-up spear, while the dino hide got pierced. So yeah—bigger doesn't always mean stronger… or at least, not always.

Back at my hut, I rested for a bit, then headed to the beach. Washed up, 'cause man... the smell of snake blood was disgusting.

Then I skinned the snake and started sketching out a new outfit. But how do I stitch it together? Maybe I can use tendons from a goat or ram or something.

Oh, and I need a new weapon too. The stones I've found so far just aren't cutting it—literally.

Anyway, time for dinner. Not sure if this snake meat is poisonous or not, but as long as I've got goats and rams around, I'm not gambling my life on snake sushi.

One more thing... I feel like the stronger I get, the more I eat. I'm eating almost double compared to my first few days here.

With a belly full of meat and fruit, I passed out. Tomorrow, I gotta train again... 'cause this island loves throwing surprise bosses at me.
