Agnest POV :
I kicked open the door, fists clenched, ready to unleash my inner karate master if needed. "What in the actual world is this?" Waze exclaimed, his voice laced with bewilderment.
The room beyond held at least a dozen doors, each one identical and ominous. Each door lined down an endlessly long hallway.
"I have no idea, but it looks like somewhere we absolutely shouldn't go," Bebe said, taking a cautious step back.
"It's... it's the only way out of here," Txu-Txu squeaked, her voice barely a whisper.
"Seriously, will this girl just speak up? Her talking like a mouse is driving me nuts," I grumbled under my breath. Pixie shot me a withering glare.
"Could you stop being a little prick for one second" Pixie retorted, her tone surprisingly firm. "I'll stop when her voice stops aggravating me" I said while rolling my eyes.
"Which one do we even go through?" Ash asked, his gaze sweeping over the labyrinth of choices. "This one," I declared, yanking open a random door.
Inside was a town, impossibly beautiful, bursting with vibrant flowers and the sweet sound of children's laughter. "Could you wait for the rest of us first!,
" Pixie noticeably said getting annoyed.
"Well on the bright side it looks promising" Bebe said, giving a half grin, stepping through without hesitation, the rest of us trailing behind her.
As we walked down the neighborhood,
a random kid, clad in bright red pajamas, skidded to a halt in the middle of the street. His laughter died as he stared at us, his eyes wide with a chilling, blank terror.
"Um what's wrong with him" Ash said, glancing at all of us. Suddenly more and more children followed, all staring at us with a blank expression.
"So this is the part where we all start to run" Waze said, his legs looking ready to take action at any moment
"Leave! Leave!" The kid screamed , his voice rising to a frantic crescendo. " It's your fault, it's your fault, the twin sisters are coming!" He then sprinted off down the street like a bat out of hell.
"What the hell" I was utterly bewildered and personally that come a lot from me.
"Who cares? I mean, this kid is wearing pajamas outside when it's like 4:00 PM," Ash said, already halfway to a quaint little house, clearly unfazed by the pajama-clad prophet of doom.
" see right here, this is a prime example of stupid people who die first in those horror movies" Waze said, pointing towards Ash who was still happily skipping down the road.
"Well honestly, there's not much we can do but investigate whatever is happening here" Pixie said, her slowly walking after Ash.
" Look at Mrs. Sherlock Holmes, always ready to take action" I said my finger pointed to the sky. Bebe and Txu-Txu side eyed me as the followed after her.
" Hey you hurry up" I said to Waze who clearly was trying to wimp out.
"If I die Im haunting all of yall" Waze said, walking behind me.
