Synopsis
A girl walks through a rainstorm. The clouds are dark grey, almost black. The rain comes down in torrents. The wind howls like an inhuman creature, threatening the trees and stirring up their leaves into storms of their own. She pushes onward, but Fate and Nature are not mortal, and eventually she is lifted, up and away into the lighting and thunder. What awaits her?

Chapter 1 - 1: Rain Drops On A Rubber Coat

When I wake up, the first thing I feel is is grass prickling into my back like pine needles. The sun is so bright it almost blinds me, and I have to rub my eyes to regain vision. My hair is all over my face, so I have spit out a few strands. To add to this unbelievably horribly bad first impression, there is something very sticky on my raincoat sleeve. Holding my arm at a safe distance, I inspect it cautiously.

It's a ball of...jello? It looks like jello, but at the same time its like slime, oozing down my raincoat sleeve. Through it's translucent body the coat turns a neon green, and for some reason the color sickens me.

I decide to take the best course of action and shake it off my arm. The force and effort I put into this flings it several feet away, and it turns into a bright blue splat on the forest floor. Thankfully I didn't do anything weird to my arm, so I brush whatever dust and water remains off of my coat and take a look around.

I'm in a small clearing surrounded by trees that stretch heavenward until they block out the sky, leaving only small streaks of sunlight (that of course happened to be right where my eyes were when I awoke) and right beside where I woke up is an umbrella. Well, my umbrella, but it looks...different. My umbrella is, err, was average length, yellow but slightly dull from months of use, and rounded at the end. The umbrella that was next to me is dark purple, pointed and taller than me. It looks nothing like my umbrella, but there isn't any umbrella around, so it has to be mine. Sighing, I try to pick it up.

It appears the about my weight, and I'm no body builder, but I give it a go anyway. Surprisingly, it's light as feather and quite easy to swing. As I prepare to leave though, I notice a black, charred circle right next to where I was when I came to. My blood curdles like milk and shivers go all through out my body, but I put whatever revelations I come to and memories that surface behind me. Now is not the time for an existential crisis. Shaking my head, I start venturing off into the unknown of the forest.
