Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Autumn Zhang

Diagon Alley, in front of Ollivander's wand shop, Ollivander sent Alvin and Snape away with a wry smile.

Snape looked at the smiling Alvin with a peculiar expression.

"You're bound to be a great businessman in the wizarding world."

Alvin heard the slight irony in Snape's words, but he didn't care much.

Just now, he had sold one of Fury's tail feathers (one tail feather can make many wands) for 100 Galleons and secured permission to have a custom wand made for free.

Afterward, Snape helped Alvin complete the purchase of all the items needed for the first year.

At Alvin's request, Snape sent him to the Leaky Cauldron, where Alvin planned to stay for three days while his wand was being finished.

Because he didn't have a wand yet, Old Tom, the innkeeper, needed to help open the passage.

Alvin decided not to return home but to wait until he got his wand.

Snape spoke to Old Tom and left Alvin there. Alvin went to his room and tidied up the slightly messy space, then sat on a chair by the bed.

Finally, Alvin had time to check his system. The moment he entered Diagon Alley, his system had been beeping with notifications. Since Snape was beside him, it was difficult to check them.

"Congratulations, host, for activating the achievement system."

"Congratulations to the host for completing the achievement: exploring Diagon Alley in the wizarding world, earning a reward of 200 gold coins."

Several more achievements followed for visiting Gringotts, Ollivander's Wand Shop, and a few other places Snape took him. However, these small achievements didn't reward much, only 50 gold coins per location.

"It seems I'll need to visit each store in the future. When I have enough strength, I can also get a wave of rewards by exploring Knockturn Alley."

Looking at the gold coins on the system panel, Alvin decided to save enough money to go for a bold wave. After all, Africans who smuggled to Europe for a short time were still Africans.

Only a guaranteed bottom line could give him a sense of security.

Getting sent to the soul or something—how can such a person exist? Impossible.

Well, absolutely impossible!

...

Three days later, with the help of Old Tom, Alvin successfully entered Diagon Alley. During the three days he stayed there, Alvin became well-acquainted with Old Tom, thanks to his good looks and friendly temperament.

During those three days, Alvin also saw Harry Potter. At that time, the whole bar was in a frenzy, and everyone looked at Harry Potter with excitement, like a group of fans.

Alvin glanced from a distance and saw the rather thin Harry standing beside Hagrid.

But he didn't join them, as the formula Harry = trouble would hold true for the next seven years. Alvin didn't want too many ties with him.

After all, his surname was already very sensitive, and Dumbledore might have already noticed him.

Upon arriving in Diagon Alley, Alvin couldn't wait to visit Ollivander's wand shop and pushed the door open.

"Mr. Gaunt, here you are."

Ollivander greeted Alvin with a slightly tired expression. It seemed he had been working overtime to make wands for the past three days.

"Come here, Mr. Gaunt. These wands are my work over the past three days. They all have phoenix tail feather cores, but the lengths and wood types are different. You can try them."

Ollivander, though tired, was excited and beckoned Alvin to try the wands.

"How about this one? Maple, nine inches."

Ollivander handed Alvin a wand, and as soon as he held it and waved, a red laser shot out, hitting the wall and creating a large hole.

"No, no, this wand is a good fit, but it's too sensitive."

Adjusting his glasses, Ollivander took the wand from Alvin's hand, turned around, and handed him another.

"Try this, mahogany, thirteen inches, a good companion for transfiguration."

Alvin felt he had no say and could only take it and wave.

There was no red light this time, but with Alvin's wave, all the wand boxes around him flew up.

"Wonderful, wonderful, both wands are perfect for you, but there's always a slight mismatch."

After thinking for a while, Ollivander took out a red wand, which emitted a burst of heat.

"Sycamore wood, ten and a half inches."

Alvin took the wand like a puppet, but before he could wave it, he instantly felt the magic within him become hot.

Involuntarily channeling the magic into the wand, Alvin raised it high, and a phoenix emerged from the top of his wand, letting out a loud cry as it flew toward the door.

But at that moment, the door of the wand shop suddenly opened, and a beautiful and lovely Asian girl walked in.

Seeing the phoenix flying toward her, the girl, who hadn't figured out what was happening, was immediately frightened and stood motionless.

"No!"

Seeing this, Alvin shouted and waved his wand to the right. Fortunately, the magic phoenix seemed to sense something, obeyed his command, flew sideways past the girl, and hit the wall next to her.

"Boom!"

Dust flew, and the phoenix disappeared. Alvin didn't care about anything else and rushed to the girl in two or three steps, holding her shoulders.

"I'm sorry, are you okay? Are you hurt?"

As he spoke, Alvin also looked at the girl in front of him and had to admit that she was truly beautiful, with a small oval face and the three-dimensional features of European and American people.

A pair of elf-like eyes were full of fear and confusion, making her look a little naive.

...

Qiu came to Diagon Alley today intending to go to Ollivander's Magic Shop to buy a set of wand care kits. Because both parents had jobs, she came here alone.

But she never expected that as soon as she walked into Ollivander's wand shop, a flaming phoenix flew toward her.

Not expecting this situation, she was completely stunned; she just watched the phoenix brush past her and hit the wall next to her.

Then, a boy rushed up, looked at her nervously, and asked about her condition, which made her gradually come back to her senses.

"He's really good-looking."

This was Qiu's first thought.

Alvin himself was a handsome boy, and with the awakening of his bloodline, he had undergone some changes. He had reached a level of handsomeness that was only slightly inferior to the legendary charm.

"I'm fine." Qiu came back to her senses and looked at Alvin's hands supporting her shoulders. A blush appeared on her white face, making her even more lovely.

Ollivander watched the scene unfold, the handsome boy nervously tending to the shy and timid beautiful girl.

Inexplicably, he felt a little bloated, even though he hadn't eaten lunch yet.
