Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: The Gaunts, Diagon Alley

When they arrived in the living room, the two sat opposite each other. Alvin looked at Snape across from him, feeling a bit emotional.

Snape was a character he had liked a lot when he watched the movies in his previous life, although Alvin didn't have a favorable impression of him in the earlier films.

But as he gradually learned more about Snape's life, he began to understand why Snape treated Harry the way he did.

After all, the father's debt is repaid by the son.

Snape is a character with a tragic life, having caused the death of the only love of his life. Since then, he lived in remorse and self-blame, and his final death might have been a relief for him.

Sitting next to Alvin, Snape didn't notice Alvin's thoughts and said in a deep voice, "Mr. Gaunt, your surname is well-known in the wizarding world. Your ancestor, Salazar Slytherin, is one of the founders of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and the founder of Slytherin House."

"Due to certain reasons, your family has declined in recent years, but the glory of pure blood still flows through your veins. I believe that at Hogwarts, you can also make this surname great again."

Snape then began to explain some common knowledge about the magical world.

Alvin suddenly realized that he had no impression of his surname.

But after Snape finished speaking, he remembered that Voldemort's mother was from the Gaunt family, and the resurrection stone in the Horcrux was the ancestral treasure of the Gaunt family.

It was still lying quietly in the old house of the Gaunt family.

As time passed, Snape slowly finished explaining.

"This is the general information. For more details, you can find out once you go to Hogwarts. Do you have any questions, Mr. Gaunt?"

"No, Professor, I'm looking forward to my future life, and I can't wait to go to Diagon Alley."

Alvin wasn't lying; his curiosity about the wizarding world had already reached its peak.

"Then please stand by my side and hold onto my wrist."

Snape was decisive, and when Alvin grabbed his wrist and stood firm, he used Apparition.

Immediately, their figures disappeared along with a whirlpool that appeared as if the toilet was flushing.

...

**Diagon Alley**

Alvin looked around curiously. It was a long cobblestone street filled with pedestrians wearing wizard robes, bustling with activity.

"Let's go to Gringotts first and get some Galleons. Although the Gaunt family has fallen, as one of the Sacred Twenty-Eight Families, there is still some heritage over the years."

With that, Snape walked toward Gringotts.

Entering the hall, Snape approached an empty counter and spoke to a goblin sitting inside.

"We're going to the Gaunt family vault; this is the heir to the Gaunt family."

The goblin inside glanced at Alvin, asked him to squeeze out a drop of blood, put it in a magical container, and fiddled with it for a while. After confirming, he took them to the vault.

The Gaunt family vault was at No. 710, the deepest part of the ground. Alvin also experienced the thrill of riding a small minecart, but he didn't see the dragon, perhaps it was sleeping.

Opening the door of vault 710, they entered with the goblin. The vault was quite large, but because the Gaunt family had declined, there weren't many Galleons, only stacked about two meters high.

"About 50 to 100 Galleons, that's enough for the next year," Snape's voice came from behind him.

Although Alvin had drawn a lot of gold Galleons, it was inconvenient to use them now, so he left after packing a couple into a bag.

After leaving Gringotts, they arrived at the door of a small shop. The gold sign on the door had peeled off.

As a wizard, a wand is part of their life, and Snape naturally brought Alvin to pick out a wand first.

Walking into the store, Alvin found it was much larger than it looked from the outside, likely due to a trace extension spell. The shelves were filled with slender boxes.

"Good morning, Mr. Snape, it's been a long time since I saw you. Let me think... Birch, dragon heartstring, thirteen and one-half inches, right?"

A soft voice came from Alvin's right, and an old man with bright eyes appeared beside them.

"Yes, you remember correctly. This is Mr. Gaunt. I brought him today to choose a wand that suits him."

Snape replied emotionlessly, as if he didn't wish to engage in more discussion with Ollivander.

"The wand chooses the wizard."

Ollivander didn't mind Snape's indifference and was very serious about what he said next. After his retort, he began to look at Alvin.

"Mr. Gaunt, I see. Boy, what is your dominant hand?"

With a wave of Ollivander's wand, a tape measure flew to his side and floated.

"Right hand," Alvin replied.

Then the tape measure "worked" on him.

Retracting the tape measure, Ollivander took Alvin to the shelf area. But before he could pick out a wand, the wand boxes on the shelf trembled.

"Wow!"

Almost one-tenth of the wand boxes flew open instantly, and countless wands rushed to Alvin's side, floating and spinning.

"Oh my Merlin."

Ollivander showed a surprised expression and revealed his inner shock.

"It's a miracle. Let me see... these flying wands are all made of phoenix feathers."

"Son, your compatibility with this type of wand has refreshed my understanding. You must know that Dumbledore's wand was sold by my grandfather back then, and the scene at that time was far less shocking than it is now."

Alvin knew that this must be because of Fury. Thinking of Fury, if he made a wand from Fury's feathers, would it fit him better?

Then, Alvin's thoughts moved, and a fire instantly appeared in the air. Under the surprised eyes of Snape and Ollivander, Phoenix Fury flew gracefully onto Alvin's shoulder.

"This is my companion, Fury. She appeared at my house two days after I received my Hogwarts notice, and we became friends."

Seeing the phoenix in front of them, the other two were astonished. They did not expect that outside the Dumbledore family, someone else would be recognized by a phoenix.

Alvin took the opportunity to ask, "I think it may be because of Fury that I am more suitable for a wand made with phoenix tail feathers. I wonder if Master Ollivander can use Fury's tail feather to customize a wand for me?"

Ollivander's eyes lit up when he heard Alvin's words.

You must know that in recent years, Dumbledore's phoenix, Fawkes, had become more temperamental, and he hadn't provided new tail feathers for a long time. With limited stock, he didn't know when it would run out.

Now that there's another phoenix, how could he not be pleased?

Immediately, Ollivander took Alvin to the workshop in the back, and the old and the young began to discuss.
