Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Start Raising Phoenixes Today, Professors Come to the Door

Alvin couldn't believe it. His first 40 draws were the basic guarantee, and he didn't expect a double-yolked egg in the last ten consecutive draws, including the reward buff from the novice card pool.

Alvin drew three gold cards in one pool.

Excitedly staring at the two gold cards on the screen, he watched them slowly dissipate the light, revealing their true colors.

**Name:** Albus Dumbledore

**Quality:** Gold

**Talents:**

- Transfiguration: 8 (Legend of History)

- Dark Magic: 8 (Natural Azkaban)

- Defense Against the Dark Arts: 8 (Justice Companion)

**Spells:** Most black magic, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Transfiguration.

...

**Name:** Phoenix (Pet Card)

**Quality:** Gold

**Gender:** Female

**Talent:** Nirvana

**Abilities:** Healing (Tears), Defense (Swallowing Spells), Messaging, Apparate.

...

**Name:** Gellert Grindelwald

**Quality:** Gold

**Talents:**

- Black Magic: 8

- Prophecy (only the two strongest talents are shown)

**Spells:** Most black magic, Defense Against the Dark Arts, ancient black magic.

Looking at the three cards in front of him, Alvin was stunned.

As expected of the two dark lords, especially Dumbledore—not only are his white magic and transfiguration at an eighth-level talent, his black magic is also comparable to Grindelwald.

Then there's the phoenix, a symbol of the powerful before even entering school. With a phoenix as a pet, he could use it to apparate away from Hogwarts at any time in the future.

However, Alvin immediately faced a dilemma: each gold card could only enhance one talent or spell.

For Dumbledore, there was no question—it had to be Defense Against the Dark Arts.

Alvin's Defense Against the Dark Arts talent was at 4, which was considered a small genius range and needed strengthening.

But choosing from Grindelwald's card was difficult. Alvin wanted to choose Defense Against the Dark Arts to raise his talent to level 6. This would make him second only to a few dark lord-level characters.

According to Alvin's calculations, even Snape, Sirius Black, and James Potter, the most outstanding people of their generation, were at level 5.

Yet, looking at his level 8 black magic talent, if he integrates Grindelwald's talent, he could reach level 9, the highest level in the system evaluation.

"It doesn't matter, I can improve my defense against black magic later. Let's see what it's like to have a full-level black magic talent first."

"System, integrate Dumbledore's Defense Against the Dark Arts talent and Grindelwald's black magic talent."

"Ding, they have been fused for the host."

Alvin: ...

Is that it? I feel no change in my body. But then again, this is just a talent, and it may be reflected in the learning process in the future.

"Extract the Phoenix."

Suddenly, a flame appeared in front of Alvin's eyes, then slowly expanded into a ring of fire. A bird exuding a gorgeous and noble aura flew out of the halo. It landed on Alvin's shoulder, bringing its golden beak close to his face.

Alvin stroked the phoenix's feathers, feeling a deep affection for it.

After interacting with the bird for a while, Alvin said, "Dumbledore's bird is called Fawkes, so I have to give you a name. From now on, you'll be called Fury."

"Hey!"

???

Alvin greeted it, is that what the Phoenix is called? Why does it sound so peculiar?

After playing with Fury for a while, Alvin immediately checked his other rewards.

500 Galleons, a number of various spells, and six purple cards were issued:

Transfiguration*1, Potions*1, All Incantations*2, Occlumency*2.

Combining various spells, Alvin closed his eyes and silently received the information in his mind.

Five minutes later, he opened his eyes.

"Yes, Occlumency is at a level no less than ten years of learning, and other magic spells have also been introduced. After entering Hogwarts, I don't have to worry about my secrets being exposed. Dumbledore and Snape shouldn't be able to easily use Legilimency on a student."

**Host:** Alvin Gaunt

**Age:** 11 years old

**Birthday:** October 31st

**Identity:** The behind-the-scenes boss of Alvin Investment Company, a fresh graduate of Garden Elementary School, and a prospective freshman at Hogwarts.

**Bloodline:** Witch Spirit (Awakening, increases with strength until fully awakened)

**Magic Scale:** 7

**Magic Items:** None

**Charms Talent:** 5 (Outstanding)

**Defense Against the Dark Arts:** 5 (Outstanding)

**Divination Talent:** 0 (Troll)

**Black Magic:** 9 (The Demon King Comes to Earth)

**Gold:** 0

A wave of card draws increased Alvin's strength significantly, and the magic power in his body doubled. According to the system introduction, ordinary young wizards are around 1 when they enter the school and reach 5 as adults. Now, Alvin is comparable to ordinary adult wizards.

Of course, this refers to the total amount of magic power in his body, not his proficiency in magic. Without enough knowledge, even someone with a lot of magic power can be easily defeated.

In the days following, Alvin began his magical journey. Without a wand and lacking wandless spellcasting skills from the draws, Alvin could only browse the knowledge of Potions and Transfiguration he had obtained.

The systematic knowledge drawn through the system only provided up to the second-year level of Hogwarts for transfiguration and potions.

However, each time a repeated card is drawn, Alvin's understanding and mastery of spells and various knowledge will continue to improve.

Of course, Alvin can master this part more firmly and use it more skillfully through his own study. His upper limit is not locked by the system.

In this way, the days slowly passed until July 31st.

9 a.m.

"Ding dong!"

"Ding dong!"

When the doorbell rang, Alvin knew that this was a Hogwarts professor, but he didn't know which one was coming.

Curious, Alvin opened the door.

As the door opened, a middle-aged man appeared in front of him.

He had greasy black shoulder-length hair, thin cheeks, a gaunt face, a huge hooked nose, and thin lips. Wearing a wide robe, it billowed with the breeze. He looked just like an old bat.

Alvin knew this was Snape, but he had to pretend he didn't know.

"Excuse me?"

Snape gave a meticulous gentleman's salute, and a slightly hoarse voice sounded in Alvin's ear.

"Good morning, Mr. Gaunt. In person, Severus Snape, Professor of Potions at Hogwarts, Head of Slytherin House."

"Today's visit is mainly to guide you into the world you originally belonged to. I will be your guide and take you to buy some necessary supplies for school."

Alvin's face showed just the right amount of surprise, and he casually gestured towards the door. He said, "Come in, Professor Snape. I couldn't believe the letter I received from the owl before; that there is magic in this world. But your presence makes me hopeful about it. Let's go inside and talk."
