Chapter 9
I stood still at the place he left me.
Processing everything that just happened.
" I'll be back miss Aubrey, in the main time stay out of trouble by not opening that room"
Those words echoed in my head repeatedly.
"Miss Aubrey"
"how did he get to know my name?"
"And why shouldn't I open the room?"
Lots of questions were in my mind to ask but he has left already.
He left me hanging on.
"Who was he?"
"And why do I feel like I've seen him before?"
"Why did he try to kiss me?"
" And why was I anticipating the kiss?"
I quickly picked up the stuffs I came to take as I made my way out the building.
I tried to shake off the feeling of vulnerability telling myself I was safe now. But the encounter left me shaken.
"This house is haunted " i muttered to myself .
But this is the same house I and Williams lived in all this time.

The rest of the day went by quickly, the feeling of being watched didn't stop but I was gradually getting used to it.
When I got to Mia's apartment, she was back already.
I didn't tell her about what I encountered today at Williams house, we had dinner together and chatted for a while before retiring to bed.
As I got to my room to sleep, my mind was filled with questions from the encounter today at Williams house.
The handsome stranger who almost kissed me.
The disappearance of the pain I felt all over my body initially in a twinkle of an eye.
The disappearance of the people I saw talking in hush voices.
"Have I started to imagine stuffs?"
"Im i hallucinating?"
I have lots of questions with no answers.
I tried to distract myself from this thoughts by reading a book, but my mind keeps wandering back to the incident, especially the stranger who tried to kiss me.
I couldn't concentrate my mind was a mess, I didn't want to sleep either the thought of the nightmare returning made me sick.
My senses were now at alert, picking out every single detail of every movement in my room.
My ears were eager to hear any strange sound.
My eyes wandering round the whole room, looking for something new and strange.
My anxiety grew with ever passing moment, I stood up to make sure I've locked my windows and my door.
Sleep was miles away from me.
The last words of this stranger kept ringing in my head.
"I'll be back miss Aubrey, in the main time stay out of trouble by not opening that room"
"What kind of trouble was he even talking about?"
That room the same room I saw those invaders that disappeared on me.
The same room I was almost strangled in.
"How did I wake up in another room?"
I pressed my head against my pillow holding them tightly.
" who saved me?"
"Could it be the stranger saved me?"
" how did he get into the apartment, I can remember locking it when I entered.
"Who were those people?"
The more i thought about it, the more confused I became.
Everything happening around me recently was just so scary and worst of it all is that I have no one to talk to about it.
My chest was heavy, I've been through a lot lately.
First, Williams left me then I had an accident.
Then the feeling of being watched, then a terrible nightmare that I don't understand till now, next was the terrible incident at Williams house, followed by the stranger who tried to kiss me and now, I was loosing my mind.
A knock at the door disrupted my thoughts.
"I'm coming " was my short reply
I opened the door but nobody was there.
"Mia!, is that you?" I said looking towards her room but I got no response.
I stepped out curious to know who it was, I went to Mia's room but she was fast asleep.
On getting back to my room, the windows which I locked was now wide open.
This left me with a shock, my jaw dropped open.
"Who opened this window?"
I hurriedly went to close it.
A fresh wave of wind flew in, hitting me hard on my face.
The blow took me off my feet, I fell to ground on my butt.
Slowly, the voices returned.
Screaming, ranting and shouting out words I can't decipher.
The strange feeling of being watched returned.
I can't sit back and allow this to keep reoccurring , I need to do something and I'll do it now.
I summoned courage and asked, "who are you and what do you want from me?"
The room was silent, yet a lot was happening in my head.
"What do you want from me!"
"Show yourself if you are not afraid to die…!" I said sobbing.
A loud chuckle filled the room but I didn't see anyone.
"And who will kill me? The voice said still laughing.
"So you can hear me?, what do you want from me?" I said shivering, the voices in my head disappeared. The room felt so silent that if a pin fell the sound will be heard from the other room.
"Why don't you leave me alone?"
"Because you have what I need" the voice replied.
"And what do you need that I have?" I said feeling a sense of empowerment.
"You'll find out when you dieeee!!" The voice said, making emphasis on the last word laughing.
The thought of death gripped me with fear, I was no longer empowered, I was weak.
The invisible force surrounded me, hitting me severally at my back.
I could be killed here and no one will know, No Mia is around.
"Miiiaaa!" I screamed
The voice laughed, "she can't hear you, look around you"
And when I looked around I was no longer in my room, I was in a strange room filled with smoke. The room was dark, the only thing I could see was the smoke coming out from an unknown source.
"Where I'm I at?" I asked
"Ha ha ha " the laughter filled the room, sending shivers down my spine, my feet was trembling. " I'm really going to die today?" I mumbled.
"No, I can't die. God save me please!" I whispered beneath my breathe.
"You are here because you have what's mine, and you have to give it back !" The voice echoed through the air.
