Chapter 10
"What do I have that is yours?" I said trembling from fear of being killed.
A great surge of adrenaline rushed down my body, as I swallowed the air in my lungs.
" you'll soon find out!" The voice yelled
My breathe came in short grasps as I try to locate the source of the strange voice.
But the presence seems to be everywhere and nowhere at the same time.
I could hear whispers and voices of people I can't see.
They weren't just one, they were more than one. They were debating over my life, one thing was sure, they wanted me dead.
My skin crawled at the thought of what they might do to me. Just like they said "I have what they want".
"What do I have that they want? "
No I can't stand still and let them kill me, I have to find my way out of this room.
With a surge of adrenaline I started to run, running in speeds I never knew I possessed.
I didn't know where I was running to but I kept running.
I pounded on walls, searching for an exit but there was none. I kept running in circles trying to find a way out but there seems to be no exit.
I was trapped, there's no way out.
"I'm in grave danger" I whispered to myself
A loud laughter filled the room, "you can't run, duhliing" the voice said.
His presence hovering around me, he stretched out his invisible hand patting my head as he said,
"This is your destiny, you are meant to die like this"
"And who are you to decide that?" I asked boldly, there was no point of being afraid since I was going to die i thought to myself.
I deserve to know all the answers to my questions at least before dying.
"You wouldn't want to know" the voice said.
" To hell with you, if at all you are going to kill me you have to answer all my questions ".
I said
"Watch your mouth, don't let me start with slitting your tongue "
"What haven't you done?"
"Kill me, end my miserable life "
"I've been tortured enough!" I screamed to top of my lungs.
I felt some sort of relief, it was as if the invisible people disappeared and someone else appeared.
The air around me that was initially strong and heavy became light and peaceful.
I couldn't feel their presence any longer, the whispers disappeared too.
"This is the best time to leave " I thought to myself.
Determined to leave, I started feeling the walls of the room , straining my eyes to see something but still saw nothing.
My eyesight was like I was blind, I kept on moving around feeling every corner with my hands.
Finally I saw what looked like a crack on the walls, I pushed it with all the strength I could possibly gather, the wall moved slowly leading to a tiny pass-way.
With the little energy left in my body I started running again, without looking back I kept running. The pass way lead to another room, with my heart pounding in my chest I ran into the room.
The room was dark and empty just like the first one, I tried to take in every detail of the room. But there was nothing distinct about the room- no window, no furniture, just a dark room with nothing in it.
"Why I'm I here?"
"Is there not a way out of this place?"
"There has to be a way out!" Annoyed I stamped my feet in frustration, next thing I saw was bright light in the room.
A lady with long white hair putting on a white long dress appeared looking at me.
I stepped backwards afraid of what she might do to me.
I made my way to leave but she appeared at my front. Her hair moved with the wind, she was elegant and beautiful and dangerous at the same time.
" please let me go , don't kill me" I pleaded
The air around me changed, I could feel the presence of the wind becoming stronger.
She didn't respond, she just raised her hands and the room was transformed to a giant hall.
The hall was well decorated with ornaments and the walls were etched in intricate patterns and symbols I don't understand.
There was a big chair that look more like a throne in the middle of the room. It was vacant.
The room was filled with mysticism and secrecy, red and white candles burned at every corner of the hall.
It was mysteriously quiet, bright and beautiful.
The atmosphere was heavy with anticipation and foreboding.
I was still looking around before a loud voice interrupted me, bringing me back to reality.
"Zutana!"
"Zuuttaannaa!!
"Zutttaaannnnaaa!!!"
Those words echoed in my head severally, suddenly a man on black suits appeared.
It was the same man who almost kissed me at Williams house .
"What was he doing here?"
"Is he part of these people, who are after my life?"
"No, he told me to stay out of trouble so why would he want to kill me?"
"Moreover if he had wanted to kill me, he would have done that at Williams house when we were alone" these thoughts kept wandering in my head without paying rent fee.
The lady that brought me here disappeared at the sight of the man, screams and gnashing of teeth filled the air but the people with the voices were not being seen.
"How dare you desecrate the holy altar!" An elderly woman on flowing white gown appeared holding what looked like a sacred staff.
"You have what's mine!" The man who appeared earlier said.
"She's not yours, she's ours !" The elderly woman argued.
"Just give her back to me and I'll leave here peacefully " the man said.
I just watched them debate over me like I was a puppet with no choice.
"She doesn't belong here, let her go!" The man shouted.
I can't remember what happened next, but I found myself in a dark foggy place. The only thing I could see was red eyes from around the corner of the place.
It seemed like some forces where fighting, I can't explain what happened next but I found myself screaming
"Raaayy, please don't leave me"
"I'm not going anywhere " the other voice responded
"Raayyy, look back"
"Raaayy!"
"No!, not my Raaayy!"
