“Bring her inside the tent,” Apollonia ordered the knights.
The knights followed her command, carrying Adrianne into the tent, which had been prepared in advance.
Apollonia remained on her horse, observing but not entering the tent.
The sky had grown slightly brighter as the dense fog dissipated into the chilly morning air.
“The preparations?” Apollonia asked curtly.
Evangelin had approached her, also clad in armor and mounted on horseback.
Perched on her saddle was the small one-eyed crow she always carried with her.
“Everything is perfect.”
“Good,” Apollonia responded in a hushed tone.
“What about the signal?”
“I stationed Cedric there. He can handle it. I’ve been in contact with him since earlier.”
“Petra’s messenger was supposed to seek out Kyle.”
Instead of providing a direct response, Evangelin smiled and mimed a throat-slitting gesture with her finger, indicating that the messenger had already been taken care of on Kylion’s side.
