Apollonia no longer asked any questions on that matter; she noticed Tanya hiding behind the elderly woman and looking away. The young girl seemed to be crying.
“What does the lord do with that money?”
“It’s obvious. He probably uses it all when he goes to the capital or to hire prostitutes to come to his mansion to play around. Oh, right, he also had a nasty habit of capturing all the virgins in the village, and…”
“That’s enough.”
Apollonia stopped the old woman since she felt like it wasn’t appropriate for a thirteen-year-old to hear such horrors, but the woman just kept talking as if it was nothing.
“I’m thankful that I only have one granddaughter.”
Tanya just nodded. It seemed like she had heard such tales before.
“Has Tanya ever met Viscount Diaman before?” Apollonia asked, recalling the reaction Tanya had when she mentioned the Viscount’s name before.
