“What?” Apollonia and Syd asked Tanya simultaneously, while Uriel seemed unfazed. “What do you mean? The Lord of Lyshan doesn’t reside here.”
“No, he lives in his mansion at the center of Lyshan. He provides us with food and clothing, but he doesn’t allow us to leave the land. Some try, but those who are caught are either killed or punished severely.”
Apollonia felt a chill run down her spine.
“So, you give him everything you steal?”
“Most of it. He says he has no choice because of taxes.”
“Haa…” Apollonia let out a deep sigh to suppress her anger. Her golden-red eyes glowed coldly from beneath her robe.
“Would the lord you’re referring to happen to be Viscount Mason Diaman?”
Tanya was taken aback by Apollonia’s sudden change in tone.
“Y-you know our lord, D-Diaman?” Tanya stuttered, trying to catch a glimpse of Apollonia’s face behind her robe, but Syd signaled for her to stop.
“We just call him the lord here.”
