“So, what I mean is that…” Apollonia’s golden-red eyes sparkled. “If the head of a prominent family fell in love with a commoner, who also happened to be the daughter of a criminal, someone aspiring to raise the family’s reputation might not exactly be pleased with such a match, don’t you think?”
Evangelin fell into deep thought, trying to fully grasp Apollonia’s point.
“Considering you mentioned that Emperor Gaius was the one who fell in love… then the person who might have been unhappy… could it be?”
Evangelin’s expression shifted to one of surprise, prompting a slight smile from Apollonia.
“That’s right.” She revealed a theory that had been simmering in her mind for a while. “I suspect Petra might have been the one who reported Satin Arietta.”
