Chapter 3 - Her Mother's Death

Reah was thrilled to be back but something hunted her, the mansion was as beautiful as it was dangerous. With tunnels that held more secrets than any book.

Reah held her pillow and rocked as she remembered the horrors she saw in the tunnel she shivered.

That night Reah could not sleep she snuck into Jays room. In Jays room she noticed that Jay placed a pillow between himself and Carly she smiled and took a picture.

"Hello, hello, Mr chuckles is here." Reah woke up to what looked like a chicken extremely close to her face she jumped and screamed.

"Jay clucked and jumped in the chicken costume." Reah threw a pillow at him, he ducked and the pillow hit Carly who was still sleeping.

Reah and Jay made faces at each other. Jay told Reah that she was about to wake the witch. If he knew she would sleep here at night he would have slept on the couch instead.

Reah shook her head and left.

"Don't go I feel safer with you.". Jay spoke sarcastically and looked at Carly who was still fast asleep as though she owned the house.

Carly was fully awake but her body and soul ached so much she refused to get up.

Jay watched her, his face just an inch away from hers.

"Is she still alive?, I hope you die in your sleep."

Carly had had enough, she opened her eyes with so much anger it scared him and he lost his balance.

Falling on her.

"Boo!." Carly screamed and Jay shrieked running down stairs.

Carly then knew she was dealing with a man child, one time he was matured the next second he was a nine year old.

Carly was worried about Alisha they had not spoken or heard from each other since the wedding, she hoped everything was okay.

A knock on the door turned off her many thoughts.

"Good morning dear, I am the best friend of your husband's grandmother, she needs you now freshen up quickly."

Carly chose to wear an orange dress, she found in her wardrobe. She knew the wardrobe was specially made for Alisha and every dress in there was so short she was not comfortable with.

Carly had to wear one of her old dresses.

As she made her way down the stairs she froze as the strange visitors stood awaiting her downstairs.

They murmured amongst themselves.

"Why does the wife of our boss dress in such poor clothes, has he gone bankrupt?."

Carly was so nervous she missed a step and almost fell but someone caught her.

It was Jays personal assistant Harry.

He smiled and led her down stairs and to the living room.

Carly sat feeling nervous and a little embarrassed, her heart refused to listen to her encouraging words.

"We are aware of the circumstances that led to your marriage to our boss Mr Jay Singh.

But that does not mean you are not his wife legally and so there are some duties of the company that you will have to handle."

Carlys husband Jay stepped into the living room and got extremely furious when he saw the board members.

"How dare you all come here without informing me?."

They stood up shivering, Jay was known for his temper but it had gotten worse after Alisha betrayed him.

"Sir we came to inform you wife." A man stood up to address Jay. But he would not let him continue.

"She is not my wife, she is an inconvenience so don't even think for a second I will let her be a part of anything."

Carly stood up and went upstairs holding the tears in her eyes. She forgot that Jays grandmother had sent for her.

Meanwhile Jay warned his staff never to make this mistake again else they would loose there jobs.

They turned back and left. As Jay adjusted his collar Reah stood behind him smiling. It means she would not have to do much for Lucy.

Reah was determined to show Carly her place and make her leave the mansion.

Reah went to Jays room, and saw Carly crying and hugging her mother's frame. Reah instantly had another idea.

"When you are done crying, you should attend to grandma. I hear she needs something."

Carly kept the frame on the bed and slowly walked downstairs towards her grandmother's room.

Reah walked into Jays room and looked at the frame. It was then the memories came flooding back.

The fan fair, the rain, the misunderstanding..

"This was your father's favourite spot he loved the trains."

Reahs mom laughed.

That was the day Reahs mother died, Reah was having an argument with Carly's mother before the big accident.

Reah had always blamed herself for being careless and distracted while her blind mother walked into a hit by a driver that was not familiar with the fair grounds.

"If this is true then Lucy's marriage will have to wait, I want this woman to suffer so much in this house before I will let her go."

Reah spoke to herself.

"What took you so long?." Jays grandmother asked when Carly finally arrived.

Jays grandmother pouted her lips, she was clearly unhappy.

Carly sat by her side trying to comfort her and make her feel better. Carly stared at the machine close to her.

"That is my heart beat right now, without that I am a goner. But i still feel so much pain. Jay has gone out in anger he forgot my doctors appointment."

Carly played with her fingers, Jay got angry because of her and now his grandmother will miss her appointment today.

"Can I take you there myself?."

Susan Jays grandmother smiled ,that was what she wanted to hear.

Carly smiled and took her out of the room.

Reah was in the living when Carly guided her grandmother in her wheelchair, she held the frame of Carly's mother in her hand.

Reah was not happy with there bond.

" Where are you taking my grandmother?."

Carly froze, her hands shivered on the wheel chair.
