Chapter 5 - A Deep Struggle

After a long day of not being able to concentrate on work Jay came back home, he heard his grandmother laughing with Carly, this was the first time in years someone had made her laugh.

"Maybe Carly's presence in this house is not so bad after all." He said to himself.

He walked into Mr Singh's study, Mr Singh had adopted Jay when he was five years old.

"I believe that a day will come when this study hall will be yours, but only when you learn to tame Reah. She might be stubborn and older than you, but you are the man of the house now it is your duty to guide them."

Jay wiped his tears, he missed Mr Singh so much, his feelings of weakness had made him a terrible boss.

How was he supposed to carry the company to greater heights, when he could not even carry himself.

Maybe it was time for him to admit that he was not strong enough to carry Mr Singh's company, he should hand it over to Reah before something goes terribly wrong.

Jay stepped out of the study hall, as he walked through Melody's garden the yellow flowers comforted him. He somehow managed to keep her garden alive.

"I knew I would find you here." Reahs voice disrupted the beautiful silence he was trying to experience.

"I saw you car parked outside, but not you, why are you here all by yourself. Is this how you want to spend the rest of your life?.

When someone dies the right thing to do is to burn every property they own.

Keeping this will only hurt you."

Reah wanted to hurt Melody as much as she could, but because she could no longer touch her. Reah schemed to erase everything that represented her.

"You have no right to speak about Melody that way, she is not dead. I feel her presence every day, I am sure she is somewhere around me."

Reah clenched her fists, her patience was wearing thin..

"Suit yourself." Reah said and walked away.

Jay thought about what Reah said, perhaps it was time for him to move on.

He should get rid of everything that belonged to Melody.

Carly sat in Jays grandmothers room making her laugh when she saw Melody standing close to the door.

"I will be right back." Carly said to Susan and walked out of the room.

"You told me that there is someone I should be wary of, who is that?." Carly asked.

"I will tell you that later, right now you need to stop Jay from throwing my things away.

If he does that it would affect him later, he will feel so guilty."

Carly paused and thought about what Melody said to her.

What right did she have to speak to Jay, will he even listen.

Melody pleaded with her eyes. Carly had no other option, she went upstairs.

Melody's clothes were flying around and something hit Carly's face.

"I would have apologized if you were important to me, but you are not so I owe you no apology."

Carly frowned, she turned to her side and found Melody there, Melody nodded her head urging her to speak.

"Doing this will not make you feel any better.

Later on you would feel even worse."

Jay paused and stared at her, anger filled his eyes. How eyes were burning red. Carlys heart skipped a beat with fear.

"Who are you, and how dare you come in between me and my personal life.

I am in this condition because of your sister so do not try to care about me.".

Carly sighed trying to keep calm.

"I do not care about you at all Sir, but Melody does. Infact she sent me here but why I'm I telling you this you will not listen. I even warned her that you will not listen to me."

Jays anger spilled over, no one has the right to speak of his wife especially not her.

Reah who has being eaves dropping placed her hand on her chest.

'Did Carly just say Melody sent her to give Jay a message?, no I must do something I will not allow those two wives to work together. What if Melody tells Carly all my secrets and I get thrown out.'

Reah shook her head, and walked away in a hurry.

Jay refused to believe Carly and was about to throw her out of the room.

"Wait, just so you know that I am telling the truth. Ask me any question about her and I will answer."

Jay did not want to participate in this clown show at first, but hee was curious to know if the presence he had being feeling actually belonged to his first love.

"What was the colour of the dress she wore before her death?." Jay asked feeling emotional, he clenched his fists, if Carly failed that question she would receive a punch or two.

Melody whispered the answer to Carly.

"Pink." Carly said boldly.

Jay blinked his eyes, trying to withhold the tears, what had he done?.

He looked at Melody's clothes which laid scattered all over the clothes.

"Please forgive me." Jay said out loud.

Carly went closer to him, and held his shoulder trying to comfort him. Jay surprisingly did not push her away.

Jays grandmother smiled in her bedroom, there was a camera in Jays room connected to her phone.

Jays grandmother knew that Carly was special, and she had just proven herself. Together Jay and Carly cleaned up Jays mess.

Reah paced in her room feeling restless, if Melody was involved Jay and Carly could get closer.

If Jay was happy, it means he would run the company well. Which means she would never get a chance to be the head.

Reah wanted Jay to be sad, depressed, heartbroken. Reah knew that after a while Jay would feel guilty for throwing Melody's things away, but now Carly ruined her plan.

Reah needed to come up with something and fast.
