Chapter 164 - Chapter 164: Xu Shang-Chi

Assassin's League.

Smith Dole approached Bulma and said:

"Bulma, want to go on a Dragon Ball hunt?"

Smith was planning to retrieve the Dragon Ball that had fallen into the ocean. Without his intervention, he feared no one would ever find the one lost in such a place.

After all, Bruce Banner finding the one in the cave was already quite absurd—what were the chances someone would stumble upon one deep in the ocean?

Bulma immediately lit up with excitement.

"Awesome! I've been waiting to do this forever!"

As she spoke, she eagerly took off her lab coat and pulled a Dragon Radar out from the drawer.

"Let's go! GO! GO! GO!"

Seeing her enthusiasm, Smith Dole grinned and waved his hand:

"Alright, let's head out!"

Since they needed to dive into the ocean to search, Smith didn't just fly there with Bulma. Instead, he had Elena pilot a helicopter, carrying the two of them to the deep sea in search of the Dragon Ball.

Meanwhile.

Members of the Golden Dagger Club arrived in San Francisco.

With a photo of Shang-Chi in hand, it didn't take long for them to find him—tracking down a Chinese guy in this city was relatively easy.

Soon, they arrived at the apartment building where Xu Shang-Chi was living. He had changed his name to "Shaun" and was currently doing push-ups in his room.

Hearing the doorbell ring, Shang-Chi assumed it might be Katy since it was his day off.

He stood up, his muscular frame proving he hadn't slacked off on his training. He grabbed a shirt from the rack and put it on, then approached the door.

Peeking through the peephole, he saw several Chinese men outside.

Relaxing a little but still wary, Shang-Chi opened the door and asked:

"Hello, who are you looking for?"

The red-haired man looked at him and said:

"Xu Shang-Chi?"

The name made Shang-Chi's heart skip a beat. Were his father's men here already? He was using a fake name for a reason.

"No, I think you've got the wrong person. I'm Shaun."

Bang!

He slammed the door shut, quickly threw on a jacket, grabbed his backpack, and rushed toward the window—ready to jump out even though he lived on the sixteenth floor.

"I work for Xu Xialing."

The voice from outside froze him mid-motion. Shang-Chi paused and reopened the door.

"Wait… who did you say you work for?"

The red-haired man smiled:

"Let me reintroduce myself. I'm Shaun from the Golden Dagger Club. My boss is Xu Xialing."

Shang-Chi blinked in surprise.

"You're called Shaun too?"

He had picked that name while living in San Francisco, and now his sister's subordinate happened to have the same name.

Shaun nodded.

"Yes. I'm Shaun. Your sister, Xu Xialing, sent us to find you."

Shang-Chi frowned slightly, unsure why his sister wanted to find him.

"What proof do you have?"

Shaun immediately pulled out his phone and made a video call to Xu Xialing, then handed the phone over to Shang-Chi.

As soon as he saw the girl on the screen, he recognized his sister instantly.

An awkward smile crept onto his face—after all, he had promised to take her with him when he left home… but ended up running off alone.

"Xialing! Hahaha…"

Trying to laugh it off, he asked:

"So, what's this about? You're not trying to bring me back to Dad, are you?"

Xialing frowned at the idiot on the screen.

"Xu Shang-Chi, come to New York. I need your help."

"I'm living a normal life now," Shang-Chi immediately replied. "I don't want to get dragged into any crazy mess."

Xialing snapped:

"Xu Shang-Chi, you owe me. You have no choice."

"You said you'd take me with you. I waited night after night. And you ditched me."

"Do you have any idea how much that hurt?"

"After you left, Dad only got harsher with me…"

"You know what kind of hell I've lived through these past years?"

"Now, right now—get your butt to New York."

"This is really important. I'll explain everything once you're here."

Without waiting for a response, she hung up.

Staring at the disconnected call, Shang-Chi scratched his head awkwardly. Yeah… he really had screwed her over.

"…Alright. I'll come to New York with you."

"But can you at least tell me what's going on with Xialing?"

Shaun thought for a moment, then explained:

"Our boss was in London for a deal. The other side tried to double-cross her—almost killed her."

"If it weren't for our guys risking their lives, you wouldn't even have the chance to see her again."

Shang-Chi's expression turned serious.

"What was she buying? Don't tell me it was something sketchy like drugs or…"

Shaun shook his head.

"A ball. A Dragon Ball."

"It was listed for $2 million online. She offered $5 million. But the seller tried to back out."

"Honestly, I don't even know what the thing's for."

Hearing it wasn't something shady, Shang-Chi sighed in relief. Still, he was shocked—what the hell was worth five million dollars? His sister had that kind of cash to throw around?

Here he was working as a valet, while his sister was buying mysterious orbs for millions.

His fists clenched. Someone had tried to scam and hurt his sister?

Unforgivable.

"Let's go. To New York."

Shang-Chi walked to his wardrobe, grabbed a few pieces of clothing, and stuffed them into his backpack.

What he didn't notice was that among the clothes, pressed between the folds, was a round stone that had quietly transformed into a Dragon Ball.

Unaware, he packed it along with his clothes.

Elsewhere.

Yelena piloted a helicopter over the ocean, carrying Smith Dole and Bulma.

Bulma, monitoring the radar, stepped forward and said:

"Fly in the direction of this signal. Let us know when we're close."

Yelena glanced at the Dragon Radar and nodded:

"Got it, Bulma."

"We'll notify you when we're directly above it."

Bulma placed the radar in front of Yelena and returned to Smith Dole's side, leaning against him as they chatted on the way.
