After Liam, Zach, Leni, Luan, and their Digimon partners returned to Floatia after Clyde, Lynn, Lucy, Lana, and their partner Digimon do, everyone begins planning their next move.
"So there's only two more of those pillars left to destroy." said Lynn Jr.
"That would be correct, elder sister." said Lisa.
"Now we know that to destroy the pillars, we have to destroy one of the bad Digimon who made them." said Clyde.
"Where are the other two located?" asked Clyde.
"Let me check satellite images." said Lisa as she pulls a laptop out of her backpack and turns it on.
"Still can't believe we can get internet signal here." said Lori.
"Well, we are actually in cyberspace right now." said Stella. "So we'll get a strong signal anywhere we go."
"Basically, the Digital World is one big hotspot." said Zach.
"Wow." said Lori.
"Found one!" said Lisa, getting everyone else's attention. "There's one in an area with a lot of snow and ice."
"That must be Absolute Zero." said Lincoln.
'Wait; that's the place where Angewomon went to.' Rusty thinks to himself. 'She went to a place called Frost Cathederal.'
"When should we get going?" asked Lana.
"Tomorrow morning." said Lincoln. "It's getting kind of late."
"Yeah, can't kick butt if we're too sleepy to even keep our eyes open." Lynn Jr.
"Dinner first." said Agumon as he licks his lips.
"Yeah, I can eat, dudes." Luna said.
"Let's go to Meramon's restaurant then." said Lincoln. As the group headed to Floatia's local eatery to grab a meal, Rusty was already making plans in his head.
Early the next morning, just before dawn, in the boys' sleeping area; Rusty was waking up after his phone's alarm clock goes off at low volume so it didn't wake up the other guys or their Digimon partners.
"What's going on?" Elecmon asked as he rubs his eyes.
"Quiet." Rusty whispered to his partner.
"Sorry." Elecmon replied quietly. Rusty nods in response before he sneaks over to his backpack and grabs his winter gear, along with a bottle of cologne.
"Don't worry Angewomon, I'm coming to rescue you." Rusty said as he and Elecmon sneak over to the boys' room's door and opens it; it creaks a little as it does.
"Huh?" Lincoln says as he opens his eyes a little and sees Rusty in front of the doorway.
"H-Hi, Lincoln." Rusty nervously said.
"What are you doing?" Lincoln tiredly asked.
"Umm... this is only a dreeeeeeeeeeeeeeam." Rusty said as he waves his hands in a circular motion in front of his face.
"Oh." Lincoln replied before he plops his head back onto his pillow and falls back asleep.
"That was close." Rusty said before he and Elecmon sneak out and make their way to Floatia's front gate and exit the walled city.
As the redhead and his Digimon partner were making their way across the Nigh Plains; they were being watched by a Vilemon that was projecting what he was looking at to its masters.
"Where's that human going?" asked Blastmon.
"He must be going after another of the pillars." VolcanicDramon replied.
"By himself?" asked Blastmon. "He must be either brave, confident, or just plain foolish."
"At least by being by himself, he and his partner will both be easy prey." said VolcanicDramon.
"I will send Lamortmon to deal with them." said Blastmon.
Back at Nigh Plains, Rusty and Elecmon continue travelling towards Absolute Zero. As they walk, Rusty closes his eyes and a smile formed on his face.
(Rusty's Fantasy)
A Digimon covered in white fur, except for its blue face, hands, and feet while holding a club made of ice (a/n: Not a real Digimon; just in Rusty's fantasy.) stood near Angewomon who was tied in chains in a cave made of ice.
"You will never be free, Angewomon!" said the white furred Digimon.
"Will someone help me?!" asked Angewomon.
"I'll save you!" said a muscular Rusty as he and GrapLeomon jumped down from above.
"Rusty!" said Angewomon.
"You will never free your one true love!" yelled the furry Digimon before it charged towards Rusty and GrapLeomon. "Ice Smash!" The Digimon raises its ice club up and brings it down towards Rusty, but he catches it with one hand; the Digimon tried to pull its club away, but couldn't.
"Care to finish this, GrapLeomon." Rusty says to GrapLeomon with a bored expression.
"Gladly." replied GrapLeomon. "The King of Fist!" The turbines on GrapLeomon's arms spin at incredible speed and he punches the evil Digimon with them; the Digimon lets out a loud roar before it disintegrated.
"Great job, GrapLeomon." said Rusty. He then runs to Angewomon, grabs the chains that binded her, and breaks them apart; Angewomon wraps her arms around Rusty.
"Oh, Rusty, my hero!" said Angewomon. "You are so strong, and brave, and handsome." She and Rusty look at each other before they both leaned forward; as their lips got close to each other...
"Rusty!" shouts Elecmon, snapping Rusty back from his fantasy world.
"What?!" replied Rusty.
"We have company." said Elecmon, looking towards something. Rusty looks to see a bipedal, winged Digimon with pale yellow fur, and four long ears flying towards them. "What the heck is that? Rusty holds his artifact towards the Digimon.
"That's Lamortmon." said Rusty. "Ultimate Level, Beast Type, Vaccine Attribute; special attack, Calamity Claws."
"Foolish human!" Lamortmon says to Rusty. "You will never destroy the third pillar!"
"Don't think you'l stop me from reaching Angewomon!" said Rusty with determination in his eyes.
"And the pillar?" Elecmon said.
"Oh yeah, that too while I'm saving Angewomon I guess." said Rusty before he holds out his artifact and pushes a button on it, making Elecmon start to glow.
"Elecmon, Digivolve to..." Elecmon said as he begins to spin while he glowed brighter; when the light fades, he was now...
"LEOMON!" shouts Leomon.
"You will not be able to beat me, fool!" Lamortmon said.
"Yeah right, you overgrown bunny!" said Rusty before he pushes a button on his artifact again, making Leomon spin some more.
"Leomon, Digivolve to..." said Leomon as he begins to spin rapidly, when he was done, he was now...
"GRAPLEOMON!" shouts GrapLeomon. He and Lamortmon leap at each other with their arms raised.
Back in Floatia, Lincoln, his friends that were still there, and his sisters were all waking up.
"Morning, guys." Lincoln said as he stretches his arms.
"Morning, Lincoln." Clyde replied. As Lincoln gets out of his futon, he notices that Rusty wasn't in his.
"Where's Rusty?" asked Lincoln.
"Maybe he went to get some breakfast." suggested Clyde. Liam then noticed that Rusty's backpack was open and that his winter gear was gone.
"Why would he take his winter stuff?" asked Liam.
"Maybe he was getting ready for Absolute Zero." suggested Zach.
"Already?" asked Clyde.
"Now that I think about it; I think Rusty was already up while you were all asleep." said Lincoln.
"Why would he get up so early?" asked Clyde.
"Let's go see if my sisters are awake." said Lincoln. The boys leave their room, just as the Loud sisters and Stella were coming out of theirs.
"Morning, Lincoln." Lori said to her only brother.
"Have any of you seen Rusty?" asked Clyde.
"No, dude." Luna replied.
"Maybe he went to get breakfast." suggested Luan.
"Clyde guessed that." said Lincoln.
"Let's go to Meramon's place and see if he's there." said Zach. The group go to the commercial district of Floatia and head over to the restaurant to see if Rusty was there, but he wasn't.
"Where could he be?" asked Luna.
"Can I get some Red-Hot Ramen?" asked Lynn.
"Lynn, focus!" said Lori.
"Can't do that on an empty stomach." said Lynn as Meramon hands her a bowl with a bubbling broth and noodles in it and begins devouring the contents.
"Where do you think Rusty is?" asked Lana.
"Hope he's not doing something stupid." said Stella.
"Too much to ask from him." said Lori.
"Any clues on where he could've gone off to?" asked Luan.
"Well, his backpack was open and his winter gear was gone." said Clyde.
"He might've gone off to Absolute Zero." said Lincoln with realization.
"By himself?" asked Lynn Jr as she finishes her ramen, then breathes out fire.
"Why would he do that?" asked Luan.
"Wait a minute!" said Lincoln.
"What is it, buddy?" Clyde asked with concern.
"I'll bet he went after Angewomon!" said Lincoln.
"WHAT?!" the other boys replied.
"That snake!" said Liam.
"Hey, it's not like none of us boys would've done the same thing." said Zach.
"Why are we standing around here for?!" asked Clyde.
"GET HIM!" shouts Lincoln before he, Clyde, Zach, and Liam ran to their room to grab their winter gear.
"Boys." Lola said.
Meanwhile, back at Nigh Plains, GrapLeomon and Lamortmon were facing each other.
"Strike and Destroy!" shouts Lamortmon as it flies at GrapLeomon while unsheathing two longsword and repeatedly slashes GrapLeomon with them, knocking GrapLeomon back. Lamortmon leaps at GrapLeomon with its swords raised up.
"Vortex Kick!" shouts GrapLeomon as he releases a barrage of kicks at Lamortmon, striking it, and knocking it on its back while it dropped its swords.
"Yeah! You show that Easter mascot reject who's boss!" cheered Rusty. GrapLeomon leaps at Lamortmon and tries to punch it, but Lamortmon rolls away, dodging the attack; it gets back on its feet.
"Calamity Claws!" shouts Lamortmon as it claws GrapLeomon across his torso, knocking him back; Lamortmon picks up its swords. "Wind Fangs!" Lamortmon swings its swords, releasing blades of wind from them and they hit GrapLeomon. Lamortmon flies towards GrapLeomon.
"Cyclone Turbine!" shouts GrapLeomon as he repeatedly roundhouse kicks Lamortmon's torso, knocking it to the ground; it gets back up and flies at GrapLeomon.
"Strike and Destroy!" shouts Lamortmon as it repeatedly strikes GrapLeomon with its swords, making him stumble back.
"Vortex Kick!" shouts GrapLeomon as he releases a barrage of kicks at Lamortmon, striking it.
"Wind Fangs!" shouts Lamortmon as it swings its swords, releasing blades of wind that hit GrapLeomon; he drops to his knees. Lamortmon sheathes its swords and walks towards GrapLeomon. "Now, GrapLeomon; I'm going to tear you to pieces, which will become even littler pieces. Calamity Claws!" Lamortmon raises its claws up.
"King of Fist!" shouts GrapLeomon as the turbines on his arms spin rapidly. GrapLeomon throws a punch that goes through Lamortmon's chest; it lets out a loud yell before it disintegrated.
"All right, GrapLeomon!" cheered Rusty. GrapLeomon De-Digivolves back into Elecmon. "No one messes with us."
"RUSTY!" Rusty hears someone shouting from behind. He turns to see Lincoln, Clyde, Zach, and Liam running towards him.
"Uh-oh." said Rusty before Lincoln, Clyde, Zach, and Liam pounce on him and makes a fight cloud; Agumon, Gaomon, Gotsumon, and Kudamon arrive. As they watch the fight, Agumon looks up to see a Vilemon.
"Pepper Breath!" shouts Agumon before firing a fireball out of his mouth and it hits the Vilemon, making it disintegrate.
"There goes another Vilemon and Lamortmon!" said Blastmon.
"Blastmon; go to Absolute Zero with some of our forces and make sure those humans don't destroy the pillar there." said VolcanicDramon.
"As you wish." replied Blastmon before he walks away.
Back at Nigh Plains; Lincoln, Clyde, Zach, and Liam were dragging a tied-up and bruised Rusty towards the path that would help get them to Absolute Zero.
"You think Stella and your sisters will be okay?" asked Clyde.
"I'm sure they'll be fine." said Lincoln. "Lalamon can Digivolve to Mega if a strong Digimon attacks Floatia."
"Stupid Lamortmon." said Rusty. "I could've been halfway to Absolute Zero if it didn't make me and Elecmon waste time with it."
"Well, you shouldn't have left without us." said Lincoln.
"I wanted alone time with Angewomon." Rusty said with a pout before he spat a tooth out.
"Yeah, we can't blame you." said Clyde.
"Can you untie me now?" asked Rusty.
"Do we look stupid?" asked Zach.
GrapLeomon was able to defeat Lamortmon, but Rusty's plan to rescue Angewomon on his own didn't go so well; now the boys are on their way to Absolute Zero. Will they succeed in destroying the pillar... after they look for Angewomon? Wait and find out.
