The moment the girl said "in-laws", my body stiffened. I didn't even shut the door. Instead, I turned back inside, but I kept the door ajar and I could tell something was happening downstairs in the pack house as I could hear many footsteps.
I moved to the window and pushed the curtains aside, then I took a peep down into the courtyard. My eyes moved to everyone exchanging greetings to my father and step mother.
