The moment Lucius stepped into the chamber and greeted Alpha Lycan and his Luna, Aisha, the rulers of the crystal pack. I couldn't hide the curl of satisfaction that tugged at my lips.
Oh, how sweet it was…watching his face twist in confusion, his eyes darting as though he had just walked into a maze built by the gods themselves. I saw it, clear as day: the storm of questions rushing through his head, the disbelief, the restrained anger. And I smiled to myself, a smile I had practiced countless times.
I knew he wouldn't dare reject her. Not her, not the daughter of Lycan.
