Chapter 519 - The Hall Master’s Heroic Presence

An elder from a sect spoke without hesitation: "Of course, it is about how she is completely unfit to be the Hall Master of the Demon-Slaying Alliance!"

"Oh? And why is that?" the voice continued to ask.

The sect elder was just about to elaborate when something felt off. He turned and saw Yun Jin looking at him with curiosity.

Yun Jin!

Why was she here?

A commotion immediately broke out. They had been planning to settle this while Yun Jin was still out on a mission. And yet. Yun Jin had already returned?

Zhai Ge's expression shifted slightly.

Yun Jin already back?

How could this be possible?

The people he left at Mingxin Hall had not reported this!

"You are… an elder of Ling Yun Sect, right?" Yun Jin raised her eyes. "Instead of going all the way to Mingxin Hall, why not just say it here? I am all ears."

Yun Jin's smile was radiant.

The elder felt a chill run down his spine. He instinctively glanced at Zhai Ge.

Zhai Ge's expression changed slightly as he descended: "Hall Master."

"Zhai Ge," Yun Jin said lazily, "I heard you were planning to lead these people to remove me as Hall Master?"

Zhai Ge's eyes flickered. "I had no such intention. I have been advising everyone not to act rashly, it is just that…"

"It is because we cannot bear to watch, and we want to seek justice for Vice Hall Master Zhai Ge!"

"Yes! Completing the missions in such a short time proves how much work Vice Hall Master Zhai Ge has done behind the scenes. This is not negligence, it is deliberate preparation!"

"Young Hall Master Yun, you are young and may not understand the reasoning here. In my opinion, the Hall Master position is still most suitable for Vice Hall Master Zhai Ge."

The elders from the various sects spoke all at once.

Yun Jin listened, her smile never fading. She glanced around and nodded: "Oh, so representatives from all the nearby sects have come. It seems your opinions have been agreed upon?"

The group showed no fear.

"Exactly. We all think Vice Hall Master Zhai Ge is more suitable to lead us. Young Hall Master Yun, perhaps after a few hundred more years of training, you can lead us. Only someone with the Demon-Slaying speed of Vice Hall Master Zhai Ge can gain our confidence. Yun Jin, you still have much to cultivate."

Zhai Ge quickly said, "Everyone, please stop. Perhaps Hall Master Yun has already returned and completed the missions?"

He glanced at Yun Jin with some hesitation. "Or perhaps, Hall Master, you encountered difficulties during your mission and had to return early. If so, just say so, and we will set out to assist immediately."

"Hall Master Yun, while Vice Hall Master Zhai Ge has completed all five missions, you abandoned yours halfway. Who is more suited to lead Mingxin Hall is clear for all to see," someone shouted.

The possibility that Yun Jin might have also completed the missions never even occurred to them.

Zhai Ge's success had relied on years of accumulated intelligence and the aid of many sects.

And Yun Jin?

What did she have?

"Do not speak like that. Hall Master Yun is a natural genius. Perhaps she has already completed the missions," Zhai Ge said with feigned modesty.

The Ling Yun Sect elder sneered, replying without hesitation: "If Hall Master Yun could complete the missions this quickly, I would gladly bang my head against the ground here and die."

Yun Jin smiled at him: "That would be terrible. Everyone worked hard building the city walls. Don't knock them down, Elder."

"Hall Master Yun, enough joking. Whether the missions were completed is impossible to disguise. You would only make yourself look foolish," the Ling Yun Sect elder mocked.

Yun Jin chuckled lightly. "Whether or not the missions are completed is indeed obvious. No disguise is possible."

"Of course. If the missions were done, the Mingxin Hall talisman would track it, and the mission system would show completion. Hall Master Yun, your missions clearly…"

The elder continued, displaying the Mingxin Hall talisman and projecting the mission system images into the air.

Everyone looked up and froze.

Wha…what is this?

The five missions, previously marked incomplete, were now all completed.

And each mission showed a completion time.

The dates were several days ago!

What did this mean?

Yun Jin had completed five missions in just five or six days. So almost all her time had been spent traveling. The missions themselves had hardly taken any time at all.

"This is impossible!" Zhai Ge's face turned pale. He reached into his consciousness and verified it. Indeed, Yun Jin's missions were all marked as complete.

Yun Jin looked slightly embarrassed: "Ah, this mission system seems to have a glitch. I finished it long ago, why is it only showing now?"

Of course, the mission system was fine. It was just that she had someone above her. She had asked Master Ji Wusi to delay the display of completion time. This was effortless.

"Vice Hall Master Zhai Ge," Yun Jin said, observing his shifting expression, "I heard you say it was difficult to complete the missions in such a short time. You had to lay low for decades and coordinate all the sects to achieve these results? Your abilities… are a bit lacking. Something that can be done in five or six days, you took decades to accomplish?"

Yun Jin's expression showed complete disbelief.

Silence fell over the scene.

Zhai Ge's face darkened.

He had described demon purging as so difficult.

And yet.

An unprepared Yun Jin had completed in five or six days what he claimed took decades?

At that moment, Zhai Ge felt his face burn with shame.

He gritted his teeth and stared at Yun Jin: "Hall Master, surely you falsified your achievements? After all, your Master is Alliance Leader Ji. If the Leader insisted on helping you build your reputation, I have no words."

The moment he said it, he immediately regretted it.

Yun Jin did not get angry. Instead, she looked delighted, as if she had been waiting for him to say exactly that.

Zhai Ge's heart skipped. A sense of foreboding washed over him.

"Hong Ye!" Yun Jin shouted suddenly.

Then.

Hong Ye, along with her disciples, arrived on a flying vessel.

Under Hong Ye's leadership, the disciples busily began setting up something in the air.

Zhai Ge's face changed again.

Hong Ye?

She had returned as well?

What was happening?

Soon, Hong Ye finished her preparations. She and her disciples unfurled a massive white screen in the air.

Yun Jin rose into the air and said thoughtfully: "I noticed that if I use the recording stone directly, the image is not clear enough for everyone to perfectly appreciate my heroic presence. So I developed this white screen. It will project more clearly."

Yun Jin retrieved the recording stone and projected the images happily.

Hong Ye and the others diligently set up screens across the entire city to ensure everyone could view Yun Jin's heroic presence without blind spots.

The disciples even thoughtfully provided small stools for the citizens, while others went around selling snacks and sunflower seeds.

Hong Ye and the team were clearly well-prepared, maintaining perfect order.

And yet!

Zhai Ge noticed disciples from the sect among them!

They wandered the crowd with furrowed brows, holding either snacks or drinks, selling them to people.

Zhai Ge: "!!!!"
