Chapter 88 - We Have To Keep Moving

Iris POV 

For a moment, something tugs at my mind, a memory, like I've been here before on this tree, balancing on this very wall, the wind cool against my skin. But the thought slips away, drowned by the pounding of my heart.

She reaches the top beside me, but suddenly, she doubles over and we jump down, a harsh, racking cough shaking her as she coughs aggressively. Her hands clutch at her chest, her face twisting in pain. "No, no," I called out, my voice trembling as I reached for her. "Are you okay?"

She waves me off, her coughs growing worse, each one was intense than the last as it scares me. She fumbles in her pocket, pulling out a small inhaler, its plastic casing worn and scratched. She presses it to her mouth, her hands shaking as she squeezes, but the puff is weak, barely coming out. Her eyes widen, panic flashing across her face, and she shakes the inhaler, trying again. "It's… almost empty," she gasps, her voice strained.
