The smile on Thor's face froze and shifted as he looked at Hela.
She sneered, her eyes filled with mockery.
"You look just like the Frost Giants Odin picked up in Jotunheim. I'm guessing your brain is made of frozen jam."
Thor ignored the insult, but he looked utterly confused.
"When did I get another sister?"
Then he turned to Russell with a bewildered expression and asked,
"Just tell me—how many more relatives has my father sealed away?"
"Uncle? Sister? Don't tell me I have a stepmother too?"
His face was filled with genuine worry.
Russell gave Thor a heavy pat on the shoulder and said comfortingly,
"Don't worry. Just two... and they'll both be gone soon. Relax, go eat something."
Suddenly, a cold snort echoed from the distance.
"How arrogant."
"I think Odin broke the seal just so you two could come here and die!"
Hela no longer bothered to wonder why Odin hadn't died. She swept her hair back with both hands, forming a black, antler-like crown over her head.
Divine power surged through her body. She dropped to one knee and struck the ground with her fist!
In an instant, three massive obsidian spikes—each tens of meters long—shot out of the earth, forming a cross-like cage that trapped Russell and Thor within it.
"Die!"
As her cold voice rang out, countless dark thorns erupted from the three spikes, growing inward!
But the scene Hela expected—watching the two men impaled—did not happen!
Her eyes widened in disbelief.
The dense, sharp thorns had grown chaotically, but not a single one touched their bodies. It was as if they were intentionally avoiding them!
"Impossible!"
She was stunned.
She had full control over these death thorns. They were meant to pierce through everything. This shouldn't be happening!
Thor's scalp tingled—he could feel the thick aura of death radiating from the surrounding spikes.
Just then, he saw Russell beside him slowly raise a finger and smile.
"Trust me. You have no idea what's possible."
As soon as he finished speaking, he stepped forward.
In an instant, all the spikes and thorns formed by Hela's power shattered, breaking apart and turning into pure, dark green death energy.
That death energy circled around Russell and, like loyal servants, left their former master and obediently gathered in his hands!
Thor's eyes went wide with shock.
This was far beyond anything he understood.
Why would his sister's power be under someone else's control?
Hela's expression changed drastically!
She realized—it wasn't that the death energy had betrayed her...
It was that the being in front of her held a higher authority over death than she did!
As if he were the true God of Death, and she was just an impostor.
Suddenly, the ground rumbled!
A massive obsidian pillar rose beneath Russell's feet, soaring into the sky like it was lifting a god back to his rightful place in the heavens.
A thousand meters above the earth—
A deafening thunderclap echoed.
"It's over, Hela."
"The day you broke free from your seal... became the day of your true death."
"Say goodbye to this world."
Hela's face turned pale.
She could never have imagined that upon breaking the seal, a more powerful God of Death would be waiting for her.
She looked up at the sky, her gaze seeming to pierce through the universe—locking eyes with the man watching her from afar.
She roared furiously:
"Do you think I'll surrender, Odin?!"
"Keep dreaming!"
"I am the true Goddess of Death!"
As her voice fell, cracks began spreading across her body, and all the divine power within her erupted violently.
The earth split open completely.
A massive, jagged spike shot up into the sky. It was covered in twisted dark green lines and mysterious symbols, overflowing with pure death energy. Even light dimmed in its presence, as if being consumed into nothingness.
It rose from the earth like a harbinger from hell.
Thor couldn't help but swallow hard.
This sister he had never met before... her mastery over divine power far surpassed his own.
But even so, he instinctively turned to look at the man beside him.
The man's face remained calm. His eyes were cold.
Facing such overwhelming power—he neither flinched nor showed disdain.
He simply did not care.
At that moment, a faint voice sounded beside Thor:
"Thor, watch carefully."
"Don't say I never look out for you. I'll only show you this once."
Boom!
The familiar voice startled Thor.
He looked up—and at some point, the sky had darkened. Thick black clouds churned ominously, radiating a terrifying sense of oppression.
It felt as if the entire sky was about to collapse.
The very air trembled.
Thor's heart pounded inexplicably.
Before he could react, his vision was overwhelmed by one single color—
A blinding column of white and purple lightning descended from the heavens!
For an instant, the world lost all sound.
Only lightning remained—swallowing everything in its path.
No one knew how much time passed before Thor finally regained his senses.
The dark clouds had scattered, revealing a clear blue sky and a blazing sun.
A warm, humid breeze blew across the land, carrying the salty scent of the sea.
For a moment, Thor thought everything that had just happened was a dream.
But when he looked down, the horrifying reality pulled him back.
The once-grassy shoreline was gone.
The ground had been torn apart, leaving a massive, jagged scar that stretched for several kilometers. Scattered across the battlefield were shattered rocks and dark red crystals, still smoldering from the intense heat.
It looked like the canvas of a thunder god—scorched with destruction and despair.
It was easy to imagine the violence that had just unfolded.
The massive spike had crumbled into rubble.
Thor silently followed Russell back across the fractured land.
Hela had completely vanished—leaving behind only a shattered antler crown as proof that she had ever been there.
Thor didn't ask why Russell had killed her.
If Odin had made the decision, then there must have been a reason.
Besides, from Hela's own words, it was clear she hated Asgard.
Just then, a shadow loomed in the sky.
The Helicarrier 2.1 slowly descended from the clouds.
Inside the cabin, there was only silence—punctuated by the faint hum of electrical current.
All agents, including Nick Fury, stared silently at the main control screen.
Displayed on it was not only the ruined and scorched land, but also the high-energy readings the system had recorded.
The AI system had analyzed the spectral and radiation data—calculating that the energy spike just now had exceeded the level of a million-ton nuclear bomb.
And that was only a conservative estimate.
They had witnessed it with their own eyes through the observation port:
A lightning column that seemed to pierce both heaven and earth.
It was like watching a mythical god descend into reality.
At that moment, all of Nick Fury's pride and confidence—born from the Helicarrier's upgrades—were utterly shattered.
And all of this…
Was caused by the mysterious man now shown enlarged on their screen.
That man…
Was like Mephisto himself.
