Chapter 153 - 153 Battle Of The Dark Dimension!

A massive magic circle appeared in an instant!

The Ancient One's scalp tingled the moment she saw it.

She recognized immediately—it was the exact same teleportation spell she had just used to open the timeline.

The difference was glaring, though: she had needed to draw on the spell energy of other Sorcerer Supremes to do it, but the man in front of her didn't need any assistance at all.

But why would he open it again when the world had already been swallowed by the Dark Dimension? No matter how powerful he was, defeating the Lord of that Dimension was impossible.

The next moment, a far more stable portal opened.

Through it, she could see a dark yet breathtakingly magnificent realm.

Nebulae of swirling colors drifted alongside withered planets glowing faintly in the gloom.

If Dormammu wasn't here, the Dark Dimension might almost be considered beautiful—thrillingly so.

The Ancient One's expression shifted to one of surprise.

Last time she had opened a portal here, Dormammu had sent his minion to attack her like a rabid dog.

Why was there no reaction this time?

She turned to the man beside her with a puzzled look.

His earlier words echoed in her mind: "The past and the future overlap…" Could it be that someone had crossed time in another way and never returned?

Russell didn't bother explaining the details. Instead, he looked at her and said firmly:

"Dormammu left his dimension and is trapped at the end of time. Kang the Remnant is devouring the Dimension Core. I'm going there.

"As for you, see if you can find your counterpart. You're all the Ancient One—you should be able to sense each other. Dormammu hates her too much for her to simply be dead."

The information in those few sentences was staggering, leaving the Ancient One completely stunned.

By the time she regained her senses, the man in front of her had already vanished, leaving only the stable portal behind.

She muttered to herself,

"Will I actually meet such a powerful figure in the future?

"This is way beyond my level… this is playing on a cosmic scale."

With a sigh, she stepped into the portal without hesitation.

The Dark Dimension was far larger than the normal universe, and at its heart lay the Dimension Core—the core of the entire realm.

Without Galactus's unique teleportation power, reaching it was no simple matter.

After three consecutive jumps, Russell arrived at the center of the Dark Dimension.

Before him floated a white sun—larger than a typical fixed star—burning with pure white energy flames. It emitted no heat, yet its brilliance was the complete opposite of the surrounding darkness, a vision of extreme contrast.

Russell took a glance and instantly jumped again—this time appearing behind his target.

Kang the Remnant.

The man stood encased in armor even more advanced than Kang the Conqueror's. In front of him hovered an enormous, humming construct that drew strand after strand of energy from the white sun, stripping away Dormammu's mark and channeling it into his body.

Purple energy blazed in Kang's eyes, strange lines appearing beneath his mask. He was utterly lost in the euphoria of growing stronger and hadn't even noticed Russell's arrival.

Russell had no intention of making polite introductions.

The Spear of Instant Death materialized in his hand, and without hesitation, he hurled it.

The crimson spear tore through the air, leaving a dark red afterimage in its wake, and pierced straight into Kang the Remnant's chest.

The instant-death effect triggered—

—but there was no response from the system.

There was no doubt the other party wasn't dead. Russell summoned back the Spear of Instant Death and frowned.

Was it because the survivor had obtained some kind of authority from the Dark Dimension? But if he hadn't become the master of that dimension, he shouldn't possess such traits.

Russell pondered for only a moment before his eyes blazed with dazzling light.

In an instant, a heat ray mixed with thunder burst forth!

He didn't care why.

If killing him once didn't work, then he'd kill him twice.

If piercing the heart wasn't enough, then he'd destroy the entire body!

However, just as the heat ray was about to hit the survivor, the latter's body suddenly collapsed into pure black energy.

The ray struck it, rippling waves across the surface, but it couldn't break through.

A moment later, the black energy exploded into smoke, and more than a dozen survivors condensed in all directions.

This time, they weren't wearing armor but black combat uniforms. Their skin was no longer human, instead covered in shifting vertical lines, their shapes unstable.

Russell noticed that the opponent's molten gold energy watch had completely gone dark.

He hadn't died earlier—he must have used the time energy stored within. But that should work only once, and now it was gone.

Russell let out a small breath of relief.

He didn't fear his enemy becoming stronger—it was just troublesome to deal with someone who could resurrect like before.

Voices layered over one another erupted from all directions, the survivors roaring in anger and disbelief.

"Impossible!"

"How did you escape from the void of time?!"

"My calculations were perfect! You shouldn't be here!"

"Damn it!"

"Another error! Another flaw! You're like a bug in this universe!"

"You were never supposed to exist!"

"Time itself holds no record of you!"

"I'll erase you completely and finish what I should have done from the beginning!"

The moment the voice stopped, more than a dozen survivors raised their palms. Dark energy beams erupted toward Russell!

A light-blue, rigid shield appeared in front of him, effortlessly blocking the assault.

Russell glanced at one of the survivors and shook his head.

"Since you were able to block my heat vision earlier, that means you've gained some authority from the Dark Dimension.

"So don't bother with that trick again… because in my eyes, it just looks pathetic."

The instant he finished speaking, Russell raised his right hand and clenched his fist.

More than a dozen survivors instantly exploded, reduced to pure dark energy that quickly dissipated.

The next second, he turned sharply.

In the distant void of space, a colossal being larger than a planet lifted its head. Terrifying energy swirled and condensed in its glowing purple eyes.

The space around its sockets trembled violently, cracking open to reveal the nothingness beyond.

But Russell only sneered.

"You know, Dormammu was right—there's always a gap… even between monolithic beings."
