After the Gym battle, Misty's sisters insisted they stay for a while.
"You can't just leave after that amazing match!" Daisy said with a grin. "At least stay a few days — we owe you dinner and some proper Cerulean hospitality."
Misty looked to Alex and Delia. "Would it be alright if we stayed a bit? I haven't spent time with them in ages."
Delia smiled. "Of course, sweetheart. Family time is important."
Alex nodded. "We'll stay. It'll be good to rest before heading to Vermilion."

The Cerulean Gym doubled as the Waterflower family home — bright corridors with seashell decor, large pools, and dozens of Water-type Pokémon swimming gracefully under the glass roof.
Over the next few days, Alex naturally slipped into helping with everything. He repaired damaged training equipment, helped care for the Pokémon, and adjusted each sister's training routine with quiet precision.
"Your Seaking would do better if you let it rest longer between drills," he said to Lily.
"Try varying Starmie's spin speed when using Rapid Spin," he suggested to Violet.
"And Daisy, Gyarados listens to confidence more than volume — speak calmly, and he'll respect you."
Each piece of advice worked perfectly. Their Pokémon grew more responsive, more focused, and even affectionate.

The three sisters found themselves watching him more often — the way he moved with calm assurance, the patience in his tone when handling even the rowdiest Pokémon, and the gentle way he encouraged Misty whenever she joined in.
Daisy leaned toward Lily one evening, whispering, "He's so composed… and cute when he smiles."
Lily giggled. "And smart — like, seriously. Even Starmie listens to him."
Violet sighed dreamily. "If he weren't Misty's friend, I'd totally flirt."
Misty overheard, cheeks turning red. "H-Hey! Don't go thinking weird things about him!"
Delia, standing nearby, simply smiled knowingly. "You three aren't the only ones who've noticed his charm."
The sisters froze — then burst into laughter. "You're lucky, Misty!"

That night, after the day's training, Alex sat by the poolside polishing Poké Balls. The reflection of the moon rippled across the water.
Misty joined him quietly. "My sisters… really like you, you know."
Alex smiled faintly. "They're kind. And they care deeply about you."
Misty looked down, her voice soft. "They've never spoken about anyone like that before."
Alex glanced at her. "Then I'll take that as a compliment."
Delia watched from a nearby balcony, a gentle smile on her lips as the sound of laughter and splashing Pokémon filled the air.
It was a peaceful few days — warm, domestic, and full of light — the calm before the next adventure.
