Nearly a full year had passed in what felt like the blink of an eye.

Aidan was working alongside Elder Vogt in the laboratory, applying the finishing touches to the final spatial anchor pillar, when an urgent summons arrived from Odin himself. After bidding farewell to Vogt, he made his way swiftly to the All-Father's palace.

Upon entering the grand hall, he found Thor standing beside Odin's throne, fully armored and radiating tension. Both father and son wore expressions of grave concern—clearly, something significant had occurred.

"Your Majesty," Aidan said with a respectful bow, though his mind was already racing with possibilities. If they're calling me in, something must have happened on Earth.

"Aidan," Odin rose from his throne, his voice heavy with authority and worry. "Loki appeared on Midgard yesterday. He has stolen the Tesseract—the Space Stone that was hidden within your S.H.I.E.L.D.'s custody."

Aidan suppressed a sigh. So the inevitable had finally come to pass. Technically, this wasn't his responsibility—unless dimensional barriers were threatened, Kamar-Taj generally avoided involvement in such conflicts. Besides, when push came to shove, Fury could always contact Captain Marvel.

"He intends to use the Space Stone to open a portal and bring an alien army to Midgard," Odin continued solemnly. "If he succeeds, your world will face complete conquest. While Earth has its own guardians, Loki is a prince of Asgard—we must take responsibility for capturing him ourselves. Will you accompany Thor back to your realm?"

Odin's request served multiple purposes. He genuinely feared that Thor, despite his good intentions, might be outmaneuvered by Loki's cunning schemes. Additionally, Asgard desperately needed the Space Stone to repair their damaged Bi Frost Bridge.

"Of course," Aidan agreed after a moment's consideration. "I haven't been home in quite some time anyway—it'll be good to visit. Should we leave immediately?"

The timing was actually perfect. He'd been in Asgard long enough to miss Earth, and this mission might provide an opportunity to claim either the Space Stone or the Mind Stone for his own purposes.

"You can travel through the Space Bridge network now," Odin nodded approvingly. "I hope you can retrieve the Space Stone for us. Asgard needs it to repair the Rainbow Bridge, but afterward, you may use it as you see fit."

"Understood."

After Thor bid farewell to his father, the two companions made their way to Heimdall's Observatory.

"Heimdall, we need passage to Midgard," Thor announced upon arrival.

"Of course," Heimdall replied, though he approached the modern control console with obvious reluctance. His movements were stiff and awkward as he input coordinates and adjusted targeting parameters. The all-seeing guardian clearly preferred the elegance of the old Rainbow Bridge—simply inserting his sword and directing its power with a thought. This new system made him feel like an obsolete relic struggling with unfamiliar technology.

Through his cosmic awareness, he could perceive the chaos currently unfolding on Earth, making their mission all the more urgent.

A brilliant blue beam erupted from the central device. Aidan and Thor stepped into the light and vanished from Asgard.

Earth - New Mexico Desert

A cerulean column of energy briefly illuminated the night sky before disappearing as quickly as it had appeared. The phenomenon was so fleeting that only the most sensitive astronomical and meteorological monitoring stations detected its presence.

"You seem conflicted about this," Aidan observed as they walked across the barren landscape. The desert night was cool but not uncomfortable—the sun had set recently enough that the sands retained some warmth. Their footsteps crunched softly in the endless expanse of sand and rock.

Thor's jaw tightened at the observation. "I thought my brother was dead. To learn he's alive... I should feel joy, but given the circumstances..." He trailed off, uncertainty evident in his voice.

"Let's start by finding out exactly where he is," Aidan said with a reassuring smile. A subtle flash crossed his eyes as long-dormant tactical contact lenses activated. Under Thor's amazed gaze, Aidan's eyes suddenly projected a holographic beam into the air.

A small figure in pristine white robes materialized before them—a young girl with an ethereal quality that spoke of advanced artificial intelligence.

"Mr. Parker, it's been far too long," the White Queen greeted him with obvious pleasure.

"Thor, meet the White Queen—my AI assistant," Aidan explained, gesturing between them. "White Queen, this is Thor, God of Thunder and Prince of Asgard."

"Uh... greetings," Thor raised his hand in cautious acknowledgment, still processing the advanced technology.

"A pleasure to meet you, Prince Thor."

After brief introductions, Aidan got down to business. "Do you happen to have a portrait of Loki with you?"

"I'm afraid not," Thor replied sheepishly.

"No matter. White Queen, search S.H.I.E.L.D.'s activities over the past forty-eight hours. Look for any references to 'Loki' or 'Asgard.'"

"Searching now..." The holographic display shifted and changed before settling on a new scene.

The projection showed a dimly lit underground laboratory where an elderly man with wire-rimmed glasses and a receding hairline worked at a complex control station. "Is that Selvig?" Thor exclaimed in recognition.

Aidan remained silent, signaling the AI to accelerate playback. They watched as Dr. Selvig operated what appeared to be a particle accelerator, with the glowing blue Tesseract positioned at its center. When the high-energy pulse struck the cosmic cube, it erupted with brilliant energy that gradually stabilized into a shimmering portal resembling a field of stars.

From this gateway stepped a tall figure bearing a curved scepter and wearing an elaborate horned helmet that gleamed like polished gold.

The video continued at increased speed, showing Loki claiming the Tesseract and using his scepter to take control of both Hawkeye and Dr. Selvig before departing. Shortly after their escape, Director Fury triggered the facility's self-destruct sequence, engulfing the entire installation in flames.

"White Queen, lock onto the man in the horned helmet," Aidan commanded, extracting a clear image of Loki from the footage. "Locate his current position."

"Those are ram's horns, actually," Thor corrected quietly.

"Searching..." The display flickered through multiple scenes before settling on a public square in Munich, Germany. The feed showed Loki, now in civilian clothes, making an exaggerated gesture of surrender. Before him stood two figures: one in sophisticated black and gold armor, the other wearing a blue tactical suit and carrying an iconic red, white, and blue shield. They escorted the captured prince aboard a military aircraft.

"Lock onto that aircraft's current location."

"Position acquired."

Aidan tore open a dimensional portal with practiced ease. "After you," he said to Thor, maintaining the magical gateway.

"Right," Thor replied, spinning Mjolnir and launching himself through the rift.

Once his companion disappeared, Aidan's body was swiftly encased in his sleek obsidian armor, scarlet energy crackling across its surface. Thus prepared, he stepped through the portal to join the coming confrontation.
