Alysa said, "Let's do this!"
Liebe replied, "Actually, today we're going shopping."
Elizabeth and Alysa cheered, "YEAHHHH! Shopping!"
Licht frowned. "How the hell is shopping going to help?"
Liebe explained, "Look at us—we're in uniform and wearing our badges 24/7. We need to help them get properly disguised. We'll need wigs and new clothes—but nothing too flashy. We don't want to attract unwanted attention."
Licht sighed. "Okay then. Have fun. See you later."
Liebe smirked. "Nope. You're coming with us."
Licht groaned. "Why?"
Liebe said, "First of all, because I'm ordering you to. Second of all—for custom gear."
They headed to the mall.
Elizabeth asked, "What kind of disguise do we even need?"
Liebe answered, "We need to prioritize a few things. First, layers—starting with a wig that stays on and doesn't move. Second, gear that's easy to carry and won't be noticed. Finally, clothing and temporary tattoos to help blend in."
Alysa raised an eyebrow. "Aren't tattoos permanent?"
Liebe reassured, "Don't worry—I'll handle that."
He continued, "For now, let's split up. Elizabeth and Alysa, take care of the clothes and wigs. And for wigs, try to be a bit colorful. You need to look like prostitutes—but you're actually their servants."
Elizabeth sighed. "That's unfortunate. Let's hope by the time this mission ends, at least we get a promotion in the prostitution ranks."
Licht muttered, "Please don't."
Liebe said, "And now Licht and I will take care of the gear."
Alysa replied, "Understood."
Alysa and Elizabeth wandered off to enjoy their side of the mall trip.
Meanwhile, Licht asked, "About the gear—what exactly do they need?"
Liebe answered, "In the situation we're heading into, you can't come with us—but your magic is still needed. So we'll adapt."
Licht scowled. "Why the hell not?"
Liebe replied, "Your magic is too flashy and too holy. The moment it senses your presence, it'll either flee—or kill everyone nearby."
Licht grunted. "So what do I do then?"
Liebe said, "Let me see what the blacksmith has first."
At the blacksmith store, Liebe explained, "For weapons, their best bet is a latex bodysuit infused with my dark magic, and a pair of knives imbued with your light magic. That's the best chance I can think of."
Licht asked, "Why knives?"
Liebe answered, "Knives are easy to hide. The bodysuit will help conceal magical signatures, and light-infused weapons will actually hurt it."
Licht glanced at the gear. "What about a bodysuit for me?"
Liebe said, "I planned for that, but your magic is too strong. It would be hard for you to breathe in it—you'd constantly be feeling my darkness. Plus, making a suit for you would require a lot more power."
Licht shrugged. "That's not an issue. Let's do it."
Liebe nodded. "Okay then. Just remember—I'm not even sure this demon exists. Don't get your hopes up."
Licht said, "Got it."
After the gear and shopping were done, the team regrouped.
Liebe asked, "How was your shopping?"
Alysa smiled, "It was nice. We all enjoyed it. Here's what we got—since the mission is for one week, we bought 21 dresses, three for each day for both of us. So, 42 total. And for wigs, we weren't sure what to choose, so we bought 32—16 different styles each."
Liebe stared. "How much did all of it cost?"
Alysa replied, "Not really that much. About 132 gold coins—with the knighthood discount."
Liebe sighed, "I'm sorry I sent you two alone."
Alysa said, "It's fine. We don't mind."
Liebe muttered, "But I do. If I'd known you'd spend that much without telling me, I definitely would've tagged along."
Licht burst out laughing. "It's not funny? It's not funny?"
Liebe said, "Emptying my pockets isn't funny!"
Licht said, "Of course it's not. It's hilarious."
Liebe rolled his eyes. "We made custom state-of-the-art gear for you two, and it cost us just 35 gold and 27 silver coins."
Elizabeth blinked. "How?"
Liebe smirked. "By thinking. At this point, I have to ask—do you girls know the meaning of frugality?"
