The prospect of studying in Hibernia, let alone visiting it, was something Adi had never dreamed of.
Hibernia was a place of peace, a paradise for the mind. As quickly as excitement sparked within him, so it faded, with him realizing how unrealistic the premise of the situation was.
"Study in Hibernia, sure and I might just grow wings and fly through the clouds too."
He joined his friends once again, who had in this time begun speaking amongst themselves.
They made plans to visit the beach before heading home, and Adi tagged along as he always did.
A trip to the beach for this group meant sitting by the shore and feeding the birds scraps from their lunch. The beach was a little slice of heaven in itself, having pristine blue waters, palm trees surrounding the base, and tiny crabs and critters alike to be found under the rocks.
Overhead loomed crows, and even further up were the eagles displaying their brilliant wingspans, not having to flap their wings half as much as the crows did. They flew with brilliance taking in the radiating sun, and it looked like they never had a reason to land.
As they sat there throwing scraps and watching crows perform somersaults to get to them, a few known faces appeared . Adi's friend group consisted of friends from his class which was nearing its annual end, friends from his previous high school who seemed to bond well with the new friend group, and finally friends from his neighborhood, who were rough around the edges but proved to be the closest of allies in times of need.
A burly apparition among these friends appeared, and pulled out what looked like a banquet set for Kings. This of course was the usual lunch Faiz would have, and surprised no one.
"This time I've got something for our friends up above" said Faiz, and he pulled out an entire leg of a rotisserie chicken to show everyone as they gawked at his proposition.
"Surely you don't think the eagles would stoop this low" exclaimed Prad, a man of small stature who never failed to provide brilliant retort when presented with something worthy of his critique.
"Just watch and learn" yelled Faiz, as he struck the pose of a bodybuilder and flung the piece of chicken right up in the air. In what seemed like eons, the meat took its time flowing up towards the clouds, causing the murder of crows to dissipate in fear of the projectile heading towards them.
In the few years it took for meat to soar above, everyone in unison thought this piece of meat was about to become a meteorite that would strike an unfortunate head, and hoped it wasn't theirs.
As the meat started to fall down, a swift pincer snatched it, and the overcast sun was blinded by two massive wings. At the distinct disbelief of everyone including Faiz, an eagle had swooped down to claim the meat for itself, and before anyone register what happened, it disappeared as if it was never there.
"You guys feed crows, but I here am the EAGLE KING" proclaimed Faiz, as everyone including bystanders looked at him in disbelief.
While this moment felt like it dragged on for a long time, the rest of the afternoon swished past in a moment. In a few blinks of an eye, the day had ended, and Adi found himself surrounded by his friends in a café that seemed to be in a rush to close.
To the relief of all staff, the group began to leave. The neighborhood went upon their fleet of bikes, the high school friends tagging along in sets of two to three per bike.
The university friends made their way to the train station, and Adi hailed a cab home with some stranded friends who couldn't fit on the already overcrowded bikes.
He got home after dropping everyone else off, and met with his parents. He talked about his day as they spoke about theirs, but something kept nagging at the seams of his mind. "What was it that was so important to me, and yet I couldn't care to remember it?" thought Adi, clueless to what it was and yet curious about what he had forgotten.
Soon the thought left his mind as he occupied himself online, checking in on friends he couldn't meet and navigating around conversations of future plans.
At this moment, a message beeped from a good friend, greeting Adi and telling him he had something to share.
Adi asked Aaron to share what he had, and the reply he received was a picture with the caption titled "you might find this interesting".
As he downloaded the picture, he remembered what he had allowed his mind to forget. In bold lettering the poster within the picture said "Study in Hibernia".
