"I thought you would be sleeping by now," Marcus said as he swung the door open and walked in to meet Nina watching television.
He had just returned from his meeting with Alpha Clinton.
Nina tilted her head towards the door from the couch and saw him, and she sat up.
"Welcome back. I actually thought you'd spend the rest of the day over there. What are you holding?" She rose up and walked towards him to collect his bag, but Marcus shifted his hand to his back.
"Are you more interested in what is inside this bag than embracing me with a hug?" He asked jokingly.
Nina frowned; disappointed, she walked back like an angry toddler to the couch without saying anything, a pout on her lips.
"Well, there's nothing really important in the bag. It's a gift from Alpha Clinton," he said, trying to make her happy.
"It's fine. I'm not even interested in the content, as I already know it must be something for the Alphas," she blurted and tucked her hair back.
