Kiara's face furrowed as she heard a knock on the front door. She wasn't expecting anyone, so she wondered who could be knocking.
"Who's there?" She asked, wanting to stand up to check. When she didn't hear another knock, she sighed and tried to focus on the project she was working on on her computer. It was a contract that she recently secured, which she planned to start the following week.
Unexpectedly, the knock came again. Angrily, she got up and went to the door in order to see who was disturbing her.
To her surprise, when she opened the door, she found their landlord, Mr. Edwin.
"Landlord?" was the exact word that came out of her mouth. She was taken aback because she never expected to see him.
He is rarely seen in the building because he doesn't stay in the same house or compound. As a wealthy man, he built even his personal house in a different state, so it's only when there's something to fix in the house that warrants him to show up, and this doesn't happen often.
