Synopsis
"You are lying!" she retorted, her voice ringing with a blend of indignation and despair as she surged to her feet and crossed the space to his side. Her anger struck him as somewhat bemusing, and in a different circumstance, he might have been tempted to applaud her unyielding spirit. "I am an apex predator. I am what monsters and all things wicked fear. How could you imagine I would concern myself with something as fickle as emotions, let alone for a witch?" he asserted, his words delivered without the slightest quiver of doubt. His words landed like a blow to her very core. She had never anticipated such a stinging rebuttal from him. "If you can look me in the eye and tell me you feel nothing for me, then I'll leave you alone," she challenged, her tone calm amid the raging storm of emotion that churned within her. Her words felt like a knife piercing through his cold heart, leaving Damien to grapple with the weight of her final statement. He hesitated for a few fleeting moments before lifting his gaze to meet hers. "I don't," he declared, the words slipping from his lips with austere finality. Lauren's heart sank upon hearing his response; she sensed within her that he was not speaking the truth, but what recourse did she have? Before she could utter another word, the ringing of her phone pierced the solemn air. Engaging with the call, she answered, "Hello, Director." Briefly acknowledging the conversation, she swiftly concluded, "Alright, I'll be there," before ending the call. "Thanks for the meal once again," she offered in a flat voice, devoid of any discernible emotion. Damien found himself taken aback by the sudden shift in her demeanor, feeling the impulse to say something, but before he could gather his thoughts, she had already entered the elevator. Making her way towards the exit, she soon drove off, leaving Damien to stand before the towering windows, watching her departure with a silent ache lingering within him. As she disappeared, he turned his gaze inward, pondering the emptiness that seemed to pervade his residence. Reflecting on his actions, he found himself questioning whether he had made the right choice in pushing her away, but he understood that only time held the answers. This Novel tells a story of a halfie(half vampire half human) named Damien Voltorie. Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 : King Draco Voltorie

"I specifically ordered that the humans be off limit, that no matter what, the humans were not to be touched...everyone of you here at this table were there and aware of the treaty with the humans that had stood for the past two centuries, why would you allow your insatiable hunger to defy my commands and make mockery of this realm" King Draco bellowed.

The council members were shocked to witness this side of their king. King Draco was known to show very little emotion and had never as much as lift his voice towards the council members.

They wondered who the culprits were. While some silently prayed that it wouldn't be someone from their house hold.

Everyone at the meeting knew that death awaited anyone that broke the treaty.

"At night fall these offenders will be executed at the arena in the presence of the all the people of Valefar, this is my judgement" he commanded while the bodyguards brought in the prisoners.

There was a loud gasp and murmur when the culprit on shackles were brought in.

"Your majesty , please I beg you, not my son" The head of the council members implored king Draco.

"Your majesty please, temper justice with mercy, Anthony is my only son" Viktor, another council member pleaded.

"Silence" king Draco commanded.

"He didnt know he was the only son when he butchered innocent humans for sport, Viktor... and what about you Kendrick, are you going to pretend that you weren't aware of your son's escapades " king Draco queried.

"I am not aware" Kendrick said with gritted teeth.

"Hmmm" King Draco gave a cold smile that didn't reach his eyes.

Turning around he commanded the culprit to be taken back to the dungeon..

"How can you execute our sons for merely doing what is known from an apex predator, while your son...." he said turing to look at each of the council members hoping to get their full attention.

"Your son...a mere half vampire, who cannot so much as stomach the blood of an ordinary rabbit" Viktor hollered with vitriol.

There was an instant murmur and a loud chatter within the court, as some members deliberated on what they just heard.

It was common knowledge that the heir to the throne was a halfie and by their long aged custom, a halfie can never rule a full blooded vampire, that was until king Draco who went on to marry a human girl and a have a son with her.

King Draco gave him an icy look but remained seated on his throne, he was biding his time and waiting for two more of his member to show their real faces.

"We aren't wiping out the human race, and by nature they are meant to be our meal" Kendrick asserted loud and clear, to the acknowledgement of the council members.

He knew he had majority of the council members in his palm, and had been secretly trying to garner support of the council to over throw the king and this might be the ultimate opportunity to put his plans in motion.

"As the head of the council members, I request the king to withdraw his command and release our sons, they cannot die for a specie that is clearly below us....but if you refuse king Draco, then you will have no choice than to banish your own son, because a halfie doesnt belong with the full blooded vampire and cannot be heir to the throne, that had been the law thousands of years ago, even before you were born" Kendrick said sternly while the council members vocally agreed with him.

Standing slowly from his throne, the whole courtroom suddenly turned aerie quite....

He walked towards the members menacingly like the king apex predator he was..

In a split second a whoosh sound was heard and a soft thud followed, looking at the throne again the king was seated with hands and claws dripping of dark blood..

The lifeless bodies of two council members, viktor and Augustus fell with a loud hud on the floor, dead.

Kendrick as well as other members of the council were mortified, no one thought that their king would ever kill his own council in such a gruesome manner.

"Anyone else that want to challenge the throne should step forward, or forever remain silent" the king taunted.

"The reason I kept you alive Kendrick, is because I want you to see as your son is been executed along wth the others" the king said ever so slowly.

"This should serve as a lesson to anyone that dares to challenge the throne and go against the treaty" the king commanded before leaving the courtroom.
