Leaving the place where Will Auceptin's body was buried, Leyton met Fors in the graveyard, who had come to pay respects with a bouquet of fresh flowers.
Fors was slightly startled, then approached a few steps and greeted him:
"Good morning, Mr. Tines, what a coincidence, are you also here to pay respects to family and friends?"
Leyton shook his head slightly and chuckled:
"Good morning, Miss Magician."
"It's not a coincidence. I knew you would come here, so I came early to 'accidentally' meet you."
"Magician? Are you talking about the kind from a circus?"
Fors suppressed the slight surge of emotion in her heart and said with a puzzled expression,
Leyton chuckled, "The kind from the Tarot Club."
"You? How do you know?"
Fors's voice stammered slightly as she quickly screened through everyone in the Tarot Club in her mind.
"Don't be so nervous. You're not the only one who has guessed your identity."
"I want to meet someone. I have a premonition that by staying with you, I might see him soon, which is why I waited here to 'accidentally' meet you."
Leyton explained why he had appeared directly and revealed his identity.
"Ah?" Fors looked at Leyton with some confusion.
In her heart, after some speculation, she had narrowed down Leyton's identity to being between Tower and World. Mr. Tower had a higher probability; Mr. World was too gloomy and completely unlike him.
After a brief thought, she nodded and agreed to Leyton's request:
"Okay, no problem!"
After gaining Fors's consent, Leyton followed her to Mrs. Aulisa's tombstone.
The two walked in silence for a while. Perhaps unable to bear the awkward atmosphere, or perhaps still wanting someone to confide in, Fors began to explain why she had come to the graveyard to pay respects:
"Ever since I learned about Beyonder characteristic last time, I've wanted to come and see her."
"The main ingredient for me to become an Apprentice came from Mrs. Aulisa's legacy. I inherited her power, so, during this time, I always had an uncontrollable urge to come here, to place a bouquet of flowers before her tombstone, and to say thank you."
"For Mrs. Aulisa, you are a qualified inheritor. Otherwise, she wouldn't have given that Apprentice Pathway's Beyonder characteristic to you, who knew nothing."
Leyton gently comforted her from the side.
When Fors went to place flowers before Mrs. Aulisa's tombstone, Leyton did not approach but waited a short distance away.
Fors stood before the black tombstone, gazed deeply at Mrs. Aulisa's photograph for a few moments, then bent down to place the flowers, softly saying:
"Thank you!"
She then straightened up, quietly recalling past memories.
During this time, Leyton saw an old man approaching, holding a bouquet of elegant flowers, wearing a heavy wool overcoat and a semi-high black top hat, with a pair of azure eyes.
Leyton and the old man exchanged glances, then both averted their gaze.
Lawrence? He is shrouded in a thick aura of death, has lost the will to live under severe blows, and his own body has reached its limit, hasn't it?
With a single glance, Leyton had already discerned the condition of this Abraham Family member. He slightly furrowed his brows, pondering in his mind how to save him.
Lawrence walked to Fors's side and quietly watched her for a moment before speaking:
"You are truly a kind and good-hearted lady."
Fors opened her eyes and turned her head, only to see Mr. Lawrence from the Abraham Family had appeared there at some point, also holding a bouquet of elegant flowers.
"No, this isn't kindness, nor good-heartedness. Mrs. Aulisa once brought me an unforgettable period of warmth when I lost my Mother."
Fors said sincerely, her eyes suddenly a little moist.
Lawrence put down the flowers in his hand and sighed:
"That shows you value friendship."
The two chatted for a few moments, and Fors was about to bid farewell when Lawrence suddenly began to cough violently.
Cough, cough, cough!
He coughed so hard his legs buckled, and he fell to the ground, seemingly on the verge of suffocating at any moment.
As a former doctor, Fors immediately knelt down without hesitation, preparing for first aid.
A clear, brilliant, and pure warm light suddenly shone over them. Fors felt her body become warm, and the discomfort brought by the cold instantly dissipated.
She looked up in surprise and saw Leyton slowly approaching, his eyes shimmering with a faint blue glow.
"Clap!" Leyton rubbed his fingers together, condensing drop after drop of pale golden water in the air.
These water droplets, carried by a gentle breeze, gathered towards the fallen Mr. Lawrence, integrating into his body one by one.
Fors felt the droplets that brushed past her, carrying rich vitality and Purification power.
Cough! Cough! Lawrence coughed continuously, but the pain in his body was noticeably lessening.
Fors maintained her half-crouched posture and quickly began some emergency measures.
After a minute or two, Lawrence's condition had largely stabilized, but he had some old internal injuries that couldn't be healed by simply simulating some Beyonder abilities.
It seems I need to go find Emlyn.
As Leyton pondered, Lawrence had already stood up with Fors's support. His gaze towards Leyton held an unavoidable wariness, as well as some gratitude and sadness.
He coughed lightly again, and after composing himself, spoke in a hoarse voice:
"Thank you for your help. I thought my life might have reached its end—"
"Your life is indeed nearing its end, but not that quickly. It depends on yourself; I see almost no will to survive in you."
Leyton stated a fact in a low voice.
"This—" Fors looked at Lawrence, whom she was supporting, and for a moment didn't know what to say.
Lawrence didn't mind Leyton's words, just smiled politely, and turned to Fors, who was supporting him, saying:
"Lady, can you take me back to the hotel?"
"No problem." Fors quickly nodded in response.
"Let me do it. Just tell me the exact address." Leyton walked over and placed his hand on Lawrence's wrist.
Inside a guest room at the Kalpensa Hotel in the West Borough.
Several figures quickly outlined themselves.
After emerging from the Spirit World, Leyton gave Lawrence another simple healing spell to alleviate the discomfort he felt from the Spirit World travel due to his physical weakness.
Fors helped Lawrence lean back on the bed.
Then her gaze fell on Leyton, who had already pulled over a chair and sat down. After a moment of hesitation, she spoke:
"Mr. Tines, is Mr. Lawrence the person you mentioned wanting to meet earlier?"
Lawrence, leaning on the bed, also fixed his gaze on Leyton, his eyes filled with wariness.
Noticing Lawrence's wariness towards him, Leyton sighed helplessly:
"Yes, I want to make contact with the Abraham Family."
He continued, seeing Lawrence's 'just as I thought' expression and increased wariness:
"I can provide them with a certain degree of protection and assistance, whether it's recovering the Beyonder characteristic and Sealed Artifacts from the Aurora Order, or providing some help during the full moon's ravings."
"Fors, you are also affected by the full moon's ravings. You should understand that the ravings during the full moon can be blocked."
"How do you know?" Fors looked at Leyton in shock, her eyes somewhat complex. Then, as if she suddenly thought of something, her expression became relieved.
"The full moon's ravings can be blocked?"
Lawrence's attention was completely drawn to this sentence. He looked at Fors as if seeking confirmation, even though he wasn't sure if he could trust this lady anymore.
Fors nodded gently, "Yes, I once used one of Mrs. Aulisa's relics when I was in danger, which caused me to be entangled by the full moon's ravings."
"It wasn't until last month, when I was almost unable to hold on, that I chanted the honorific name of a great existence. He pulled me into His Divine Kingdom and blocked the full moon's ravings."
"Great existence..." Lawrence murmured, the expectation in his eyes fading. He had automatically assumed the great existence Fors spoke of was a malevolent god, just like the True Creator.
Leyton sighed helplessly. The Abraham Family's vigilance towards the outside world was too strong now; it was very difficult to gain their trust.
After a moment of contemplation, Leyton spoke again:
"I am not a Beyonder of the Apprentice Pathway, nor an adjacent Pathway. You don't need to worry that I'm here for the high-Sequence Beyonder characteristic that your Abraham Family possesses."
"I choose to help you, it has nothing to do with yourselves. It's more out of respect for Mr. Door."
Lawrence's face finally showed a different reaction. Although he was still very distrustful, at least he had the idea of communicating:
"Mr. Door? Our ancestor has been missing for over a thousand years, and you, though very strong, shouldn't even be a Saint yet..."
"Not yet, but I will be very soon. If that's what you're worried about, you can stay in Backlund a little longer. I will advance to Sequence 4 before the end of next month."
Leyton spoke these words with great confidence.
"You're about to advance to a Demigod?"
Even Fors, standing nearby, couldn't help but exclaim in surprise.
She somewhat felt that Leyton was just saying this to keep up appearances, but his aura inexplicably made her feel that everything he said was true.
Leyton looked at the silent Lawrence and continued:
"If you have any concerns, I can swear an oath to any True God that during your stay in Backlund, I will not reveal your information to anyone outside of this room in any form, nor will I do anything detrimental to you in any form."
"However, you must give me a definite answer before the end of this year. I will be leaving Backlund by the end of the year."
Lawrence was silent for a long time before speaking again:
"What do you want to gain by helping the Abraham Family?"
"This has nothing to do with you. The price will be paid by Mr. Door."
Leyton responded in a deep voice, but seeing Lawrence's firm gaze, he added:
"Roughly, Mr. Door will need to work for me for a period after His escape, and He will have to provide me with a Planeswalker Beyonder characteristic."
"Of course, it would be even better if He could directly cultivate a Planeswalker."
