Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Revealing the Origin

"Eh? A retest?" Kiana asked while eating. "When is it?"

"Exactly one week from now," Himeko replied, her face full of exasperation. "Seriously, there's got to be a limit to how dumb you can be!"

"What should we do about the retest next week? If I can't pass, there's no way I can become a Valkyrie..." Mei added from the side.

"No choice. We'll have to do special training." Himeko's expression grew serious.

...

"I can't remember a thing..." Kiana looked at the history book in her hand and growled in frustration. "Why do we have to take such a boring subject like history!"

Bronya stepped out of her room and placed a strange device on Kiana's head.

"Bronya, what did you just put on me?" Kiana turned her head to look at Bronya.

"Homu-Homu Virtual Reality Comm Link." Bronya stated the name of the machine and immediately activated it.

A flash of light passed before Kiana's eyes, and she entered a vast library.

"What a huge library!" Kiana exclaimed in surprise.

"Confused young girl! I am the guiding witch, Bronya," said Bronya, now dressed in a different outfit. "This is the core database of Schicksal, recording the most detailed history of the Honkai."

"The Guiding Witch?" Kiana looked awkwardly at Bronya.

"Let's start with the earliest record of the initial Honkai." Bronya opened a book, pulling them into its world.

...

"Chen Tiannuo, please come to the principal's office." Theresa sent a message.

'So, it's finally happening.'

Chen Tiannuo entered the principal's office, sitting down across from Theresa and Himeko.

"If there's something you want to ask, just ask. I'll answer everything," he said.

Theresa and Himeko exchanged glances. Then Theresa said, "It's nothing too serious. We just want to know—can you tell us about your origins?"

"After looking at those blueprints, you've probably already got your suspicions." Chen Tiannuo shrugged and continued, "I come from another world. As for why I came to this one... well, it's kind of embarrassing. I couldn't beat the Man in the Wall, so I ran away."

"The Man in the Wall?"

"Uh, I don't actually know what it is, to be honest." Chen Tiannuo scratched his head awkwardly.

"And this world you're talking about?" Theresa, who knew a bit about bubble universe theory, asked. "Are you from another bubble?"

"You know about bubble universes, huh? But no, I'm from another universe, not a bubble." Chen Tiannuo paused to think. "Like an alternate dimension?"

Theresa was stunned. She had assumed he was from another bubble universe—Otto had observed such ones before. But another universe? Dimensional invasion?

"So, what is your actual goal here?" Himeko asked bluntly.

"I don't know." Chen Tiannuo admitted. He didn't even know why he'd ended up here. Before his first crossing, he had heard stories about this world, but never really dug into it.

"Huh? You don't know?" Theresa questioned.

"Then why come to our world?"

"Because I felt like it." Chen Tiannuo answered, completely justified.

"…"

After a long conversation, Theresa and Himeko came to understand his origins and also learned many tales of the interstellar Warframes.

Chen Tiannuo stood up and stretched. After telling stories for so long, his body felt stiff from sitting.

He glanced at the intrigued Theresa, then at the already-sleeping Himeko, and couldn't help but twitch the corner of his mouth.

"Himeko, wake up." Chen Tiannuo called out to her.

"Huh? Oh, oh." Himeko slowly sat up, still dazed. After sitting on the couch for a moment, she finally woke up. "I'll head out first."

"Alright," Theresa replied.

Himeko left the office.

"If there's nothing else, I'm going too." Chen Tiannuo looked at the files on Theresa's desk. "Principal, take your time with those documents."

"Sure," Theresa glanced at the desk and replied with a guilty tone, "If you've got something to do, go ahead."

From her expression, Chen Tiannuo knew she was definitely slacking off, probably reading manga again.

He said nothing and left the office, heading toward the lab—his Warframe was finally complete.

'Damn, my Warframe is finally done. Took it long enough.' Chen Tiannuo thought, hurrying toward the lab.

...

"Whoohoo!" Seeing the foundry screen display [Construction Complete] Chen Tiannuo excitedly hit confirm. In the Foundry beside him, a Warframe slowly took form.

It was none other than the holy sword Excalibur—one of the most basic Warframes.

"This is Excalibur, master of gun and blade. No matter your style, Tenno, Excalibur is a formidable choice." That's how Lotus had introduced it back then.

Chen Tiannuo connected his consciousness directly to the Warframe.

"Ah! That familiar feeling." As his consciousness linked to the frame, the system reactivated.

"Congratulations on acquiring your first Warframe. Host, you can now travel between worlds."

"Wait, weren't you in hibernation?" Chen Tiannuo jumped in surprise.

"I was in hibernation, not dead."

"Alright then," Chen Tiannuo smacked his lips. "So, which worlds can I go to?"

"Currently, only two are observable—one is Black Bullet, and the other is the world of WorldEnd."

"You can even go to anime worlds? I thought you'd only send me into game worlds."

"You can also go to movie worlds, but only big universes like Marvel can be observed by me. Are you sure you want to go to that kind of world?" the system said calmly.

"Uh, maybe not those bug-level worlds. Feels like I'd die fast."

"Tch, I figured you'd say that."

"When I go to another world, how long until I come back?" Chen Tiannuo asked.

"Time ratio is 1 to 30. Thirty days in another world equals one day here," the system answered.

"Alright. I'll go later when I've wrapped up things here." Chen Tiannuo said in thought.

"Understood. I'll go back into hibernation now. But seriously, gather more energy sources! The crystal cores in this world are usable too, and those spacetime constructs—collect more of those as well!" the system said. "At least help me conserve some power!"

"Yeah yeah, I got it. Honkai energy should work too. I'll gather more Honkai Crystals."

"That works. I'm off. Goodbye!" With that, the system fell silent.

Chen Tiannuo, now operating Excalibur, headed toward the training room.

Once there, he tested all of the Warframe's abilities.

[Slash Dash]: 20-meter range. On hit, seeks out other enemies within 7 meters for slash-through. Reduces damage taken by 75% during dash.

[Radial Blind]: Emits a powerful flash. ???-meter range. Forces blindness for 3 seconds, soft-blind for 15 seconds.

[Radial Javelin]: Summons a javelin near enemies within ??? meters and hurls it at them.

[Exalted Blade]: Summons the exalted blade. Costs 25 energy to summon. Drains 2.5 energy per second while active. Each swing emits energy waves. Duration ??? seconds. Projectile speed: 20 meters per second.
