Seraphina's POV
"He is still sleeping?" My voice was sounding like a whisper, even though the room was already filled with silence.
"Yes, his spirit mends in dreams, do not wake him." Zevryn replied, his hand surrounding Lyric's chest, he was trying to read the faint moonlight that was still wrapped around him.
"I could not even wake him if I tried." I said as I brushed my son's wet hair back from his forehead.
His little chest rose slowly, I had to keep touching him just to assure myself again that he was still alive.
"He bought us all a miracle out there, Sera, but miracles burn as much as they bless. If he keeps releasing the power like that…" Kira rested on the doorway, her arms crossed, her sword at her hip, her eyes softened only when they landed on Lyric.
"Don't, he's just a child, he's my child and he'll grow strong enough to bear all that he has to." I cut her off sharper than I meant to. My hand trembled where it held Lyric.
