Chapter 7: The First Appearance of the Taotie Bloodline

"Your name is Lin Ze, right?"

"Yes."

"Hehe, Brother Lin Ze, when you visit the Magic City in the future, Sister Leng Xiao will protect you. As for that guy Huang Shuo, I'll put him in solitary confinement when I get back!"

It was the first time anyone had called Leng Xiao "sister."

The straightforward and cheerful Leng Xiao was visibly delighted. Especially since the little guy had even praised her beauty—how could she not be happy?

To her, racial identity meant little. As a proud member of the Heaven-Defying Demon Dragon Clan—the strongest lineage among demons—she didn't share the prejudices of others.

Hearing her bold declaration, Lin Ze pouted a little.

"I really don't like that guy. His malice toward me is obvious..."

Leng Xiao thumped her chest confidently.

"Don't worry! He only bullies those weaker than him. With your Sister Leng Xiao here, I'll beat him up if he dares say another word about you. But just because you call me sister, don't expect me to go easy on you in this fight!"

Lin Ze's gaze sharpened.

"I wouldn't want you to. Be careful, Sister Leng Xiao. I'm really strong."

This was Lin Ze's first real fight.

He'd only ever trained under the strict regimens of the Love Demon God, Sidi. But today, he was curious—curious to see how strong this cheerful girl a few years older than him really was. Curious to see where he stood.

Leng Xiao, who had initially wanted to take things lightly, suddenly paused.

In that moment, when Lin Ze's fighting spirit surged—she felt a faint threat.

A strange tremor touched her soul.

Her brows furrowed, but she quickly shook the thought away.

Absurd.

He's just a human. Just a five-year-old. There's no way he could threaten her.

She stepped back, took a ready stance, and clenched her fists.

Sidi, who stood silently at the edge of the domain, watched everything with focused eyes.

Leng Xiao smiled and said,

"I'll let you have the first move."

Lin Ze nodded and adjusted his footing. Though this was his first battle, Sidi had taught him the fundamentals of combat.

He launched forward with a shout, channeling power from his waist into a punch aimed at Leng Xiao's chest.

Leng Xiao didn't dodge.

Instead, she crossed her arms and absorbed the blow head-on.

She was confident. As a magic and martial arts cultivator, she didn't think a child five years her junior could overpower her.

Most demons trained their bodies over magic. Their limited elemental perception made martial arts the natural path. Only a handful, such as the upper three pillars—the Sun, Moon, and Star demon races—excelled in magic.

But among them, the Heaven-Defying Demon Dragons stood above all.

The race of the first Demon Pillar, Huang Fengxiu, was terrifying even at birth. A newborn black dragon was already seventh-rank. Adults were eighth-rank monsters.

But this power came with a price. The black dragons had incredibly low fertility. Only one child every hundred years—and they were born viviparous, not from eggs.

Leng Xiao was not pure-blooded. Her mother wasn't a demon dragon. So, though strong, she lacked the terrifying advantage of her kin.

Still, compared to humans and most demons her age, she was unmatched.

But when she took Lin Ze's punch—she was surprised.

A thrill sparked in her eyes.

This wasn't the strength of a normal five-year-old.

"Not bad!" she laughed. "You're stronger than I expected. But that just means I won't hold back anymore."

She tensed her muscles, and the playful smile faded.

"My turn."

Before Lin Ze could react, she rushed forward like a red flash.

So fast!

That was all Lin Ze could think before her punch struck him hard in the stomach.

His reflexes could barely keep up. He switched to a desperate defense.

The gap in speed, skill, and combat experience was overwhelming.

Punch after punch landed.

Leng Xiao clicked her tongue regretfully.

"You're strong for your age, but you're no match for me. You should give up."

Bruised and aching, Lin Ze staggered back.

Give up?

This is my first fight. How could I give up now?

Determination flashed in his eyes.

He endured the pain, took the hits—and waited.

Then, in a split-second opening in her attack—he countered.

His fists slammed into Leng Xiao's body.

She stumbled back, surprised.

This little guy—he's adapting fast!

Though his technique was crude, his will was unyielding.

He didn't mind trading injuries. He welcomed it.

Blow after blow, their fists collided. The blood-red sea of spider lilies around them stirred violently from the force.

Back and forth, neither child willing to surrender.

And in the distance, Sidi's sharp gaze locked onto Lin Ze.

Her eyes widened slightly.

A black vertical line had appeared between his brows.

The first awakening sign...

The bloodline of the Taotie Beast—had begun to stir.
