Lydia
After feeling a sharp pain in my chest, everything became a bit blurry, and I saw Kaidon rush forward, his face etched with worry.
"Are you okay?" I heard his voice from far away, like an echo, even though he was close to me. I looked at him, and I heard a strong command in my head.
Lydia… hold him tight.
I wanted to resist, but my body moved on its own, pulling him into a tight embrace, and I could feel his stiffness. I knew he wasn't expecting it.
Then his hand landed on my back, gently patting me.
I began to get myself together slowly, until my hand moved on its own and dug into his back, my fingers piercing it like they would rip it off.
"Ah—" he gasped in surprise.
"Mate? Is something wrong?" he whispered in my ear, sending waves of goosebumps across my body.
I wanted to push him away and curse at him, but immediately I opened my mouth, a strange sound escaped my lips, a moan which made me cringe so hard. But I couldn't stop it.
