Hearing those words, Caleb was dumbfounded for a while, too shocked to believe it. Then he squinted his eyes.
The Alpha already had someone to marry, and even if he had found his mate, he would have announced it. So Lydia must be lying.
"How dare you call the Alpha your mate!" he barked, raising his hand to slap her, but Lydia caught his hand mid-air.
"If you dare lay your hands on me, I can't guarantee you it'll still remain on your body," she threatened, causing him to withdraw his hand and stare at her in disbelief.
He couldn't believe she would ever threaten him.
"You sure have a nerve. What gives you the guts to threaten me?" he questioned.
"Me."
He heard a deep and dangerous voice, and they both turned towards the voice. He was shocked to see the Alpha approaching them, his eyes cold as ice, which made Caleb's legs tremble in fear.
The Alpha is backing her? What kind of spell did she cast on him? Caleb wondered.
