A ray of light burned my closed eyelid, making me groan and turning to the other side of the blanket. My hand moved subconsciously, patting the space beside me. I was expecting to reach my mate that laid across me last night but when my hand reached the empty sheets, I jumped up.
A sharp pang tugged at my head at the sudden motion and it took a while for it to subside. I peeled my eyes open, squinting at first before it got used to the light in the room.
Where's Kaelith?
The room was quiet and cold with no sign of him. His side of the bed was also cold, which signified he has left quite long.
But why didn't he wake me?
I glanced at the clock on the nightstand and my eyes widened at the number displayed on it.
1:16 pm!!!? Goddess! Why didn't he wake me?
My eyes moved to the small black note right under the clock. I stretched my hand to grab it but stopped midway, yesterday's event rushing into my head. It all started with a note...it started with a note.
