Chapter 387 - Chapter 387: Zhang Fengyun’s Thoughts

Chen Mo was a little surprised by the list Zhao Min sent over. There were dozens of names on it, and all of them were well-known figures both domestically and internationally—including CEOs of major corporations.

Since he didn't manage the company's daily affairs, he hadn't met many of them. Zhao Min, on the other hand, attended various economic forums and international conferences on his behalf, so it wasn't surprising that she had so many high-profile connections.

She had already marked which guests required a personal phone call and which could simply be sent formal invitations.

To confirm everything, Chen Mo gave Zhao Min a call.

"Big boss, calling me this late—what's the matter?" Zhao Min's lazy voice floated out as the video connected. In the holographic projection, she appeared in pajamas with a facial mask on.

"You do facial masks?" Chen Mo smiled at the sight.

"Laugh my ass. Your sister is getting old and yellow, gotta take care of myself. Otherwise, no one will want to be my sugar baby," Zhao Min said meaningfully.

"…Huh?" Chen Mo's smile froze mid-laugh, and the corners of his mouth twitched. "You look twenty-three at most. Still young."

Zhao Min was amused by his reaction and burst out laughing. "Haven't seen you in two days and your sweet talk's gotten better. So? What does your sister owe the pleasure of this call?"

"The guest list you sent—is that all?" Chen Mo asked.

"Yeah, too few?" Zhao Min stretched out on the sofa, her tone relaxed. "Don't forget, when these bosses come, some bring their partners. So it adds up. These people? I worked hard to build these connections for you. Your wedding's the perfect chance to expand your network. In business, contacts and resources are sometimes more valuable than money. Remember to thank your sister."

"Alright. Anything you need in the future, just say it," Chen Mo said.

"Really?"

Zhao Min peeled off her facial mask and looked at Chen Mo with bright eyes.

"Really—just don't go overboard." Chen Mo's eyelids twitched. Zhao Min always gave him a sense of unease when she looked like that.

"I'll remember those words," she said cheerfully, lying back on the sofa. "After your honeymoon, come back and thank your sister properly. Where's Xiao Yu?"

"She's showering. We just finished the wedding photos today. I'm exhausted."

"Sounds like someone's enjoying married life already," Zhao Min said sourly. "Alright, I won't disturb the loving couple. Poor me, all alone."

"…"

After hanging up, Chen Mo began making calls to inform the guests personally. All the names Zhao Min listed were major players in the tech world, and he couldn't afford to be impersonal.

It took over an hour to finish the calls. He chatted briefly with each guest and confirmed their attendance. When he was done, he put the phone down and headed back to his room.

One takeaway from the night—his spoken English could use some improvement.

The next day, Chen Mo returned to Binhai with Xiao Yu. Xiao Man went back to school to work on her thesis, so Xiao Yu took her to the airport, and Chen Mo headed straight for the Blue Ocean Building.

Li Zhiyong and Zhang Fengyun were already waiting. As Chen Mo was led in by the club's reception staff, they both stood to greet him.

"General Li, hello."

Chen Mo shook hands with Li Zhiyong, then turned to Zhang Fengyun in surprise. Zhang Fengyun was a renowned director in China. Even though Chen Mo wasn't into entertainment, he still recognized the name. He hadn't expected the man to show up with Li Zhiyong.

"Director Zhang, a pleasure."

"I didn't expect Mr. Chen to recognize me. I'm honored," Zhang Fengyun said with a smile.

"Mr. Chen, let's sit and talk," Li Zhiyong gestured to the seats.

They all sat down, and Li Zhiyong took out a proposal document, handing it over as he began to explain.

"This is our plan based on your requirements. For implementation, we've decided to bring in Director Zhang to oversee the project to ensure it meets a high standard."

"When General Li contacted me, I was surprised," Zhang Fengyun added. "Just two days ago, I was shooting on set. After seeing your video, I left everything behind and rushed back. I have to say, Mr. Chen, you're a romantic."

"Hearing Director Zhang's involvement, it looks like my wedding is in good hands." Chen Mo chuckled. "But seriously, you dropped a whole project just for my wedding?"

"Mr. Chen jests." Zhang Fengyun laughed heartily. "Honestly, I was inspired. I may be a director, but I'm still an artist at heart—and I'm drawn to this kind of romantic flair. But yes, I do have a request."

"I'm listening."

"I have a large IP in the works, and I'd like Mr. Chen's help."

"Oh? Investment?"

"No, not that—though if you're interested, I won't turn it down," Zhang Fengyun said jokingly.

"Then what do you need?"

"I'll help direct your wedding for free. In exchange, I'd like to rent thirty large holographic projectors from your team for the filming of my new project. We can negotiate the rental price. Even if you decline, I'll still help with the wedding—it'll give me a chance to familiarize myself with the technology."

Chen Mo immediately grasped his intent. "You're planning to use holographic projection to replace traditional special effects scenes?"

"Half right. I'm planning to shoot the first domestic holographic film. The IP requires grand, fantastical settings."

Zhang Fengyun didn't hold back—after all, he needed Chen Mo's support.

"Large-scale holographic projectors will help create powerful visual effects with a sense of mystery. It's a pioneering step. I'm confident this can surpass Avatar and reach the pinnacle of global cinema. And once the holographic film is released, it will boost your projector sales as well."

"I see…" Chen Mo thought for a moment before nodding. "That's exactly what my products are meant for. Even though they haven't been released to the market yet, I don't mind renting them to you."

Zhang Fengyun beamed with joy.

With the projectors, he could design breathtaking scenes at will—translating his creative visions into reality and slashing special effects costs.

"After the wedding, you can coordinate with Zhao Min about the rental details," Chen Mo added.

"What about the color-changing clothes? Can those be rented too?"

"That's a no-go. The material is brand new, and the production process is complicated. It's too easy for people to reverse-engineer."

"In that case, just the projectors are enough. Looking forward to working with you, Mr. Chen," Zhang Fengyun said with a broad grin. "I'll inform my team today—we'll start planning the wedding right away."

"Thanks for the help, Director Zhang."

Both sides had reached an agreement, and the happiest person in the room was Li Zhiyong. It meant their company would be handling Chen Mo's wedding—a rare opportunity.

After that, Chen Mo and Li Zhiyong went over the wedding details.

Half an hour later, everything was finalized. Chen Mo handed over the guest list, and once the cooperation agreement was signed, the project was officially underway.
