Haunted by dreams of fire and demons, Benizame struggles to control the VyrnEdge, which hums with a strange will of its own. With Zaiya as his guide, they travel to the undercity of Ironveil, a black market crawling with information brokers, tech-pirates, and Rift cultists. There they meet Rex Voltan, a disillusioned war veteran who once fought in the original Rift War, and Mino, a boy born from an experiment that merged man and machine.
Through Rex, Benizame begins to uncover fragments of his lineage. He learns of the ChronoBlood, a power passed through ancient Riftborn who were neither human nor demon, but something in-between — beings who could twist time with thought alone.
As the group searches the Rift deserts for more clues, they are hunted by Rift Inquisitors, agents of the Time Authority. The pursuers track them to a temple buried beneath the glassed sands of old Terra. There, Reina appears unexpectedly to save them. She admits the truth: Benizame's father was a Rift Demon General who betrayed his kind for love.
Reina had sealed Benizame's blood to protect him. But now it is breaking loose.
Their reunion is short. The Inquisitors attack. In a tragic and furious moment, Reina shields Benizame from a killing blow. As she dies in his arms, she whispers his true name in the demon tongue and seals her soul into his heart — unlocking a deeper level of ChronoBlood that allows Benizame to halt time briefly.
Enraged, grief-stricken, and burning with power, Benizame annihilates the Inquisitors in a scene of warped gravity, reversed screams, and falling stars.
From the echoes of time, a voice speaks to him: "My grandson... at last."
