Chapter 1 - CHAPTER ONE: Into the unknown

The day was still in its tender youth, with warm rays of sunshine whose vibrant colors sparkled in every direction, casting a kaleidoscope of hues across the landscape, and infusing the air with a breathtakingly beautiful atmosphere. Meanwhile, the birds' melodious voices harmonized in perfect symphony, spreading their sweet serenade through the entire place, filling every nook and cranny with joy and tranquility.

Towering trees, their ancient trunks gnarled and twisted, stood sentinel, their branches like Nature's own fingers, stretching towards the sky as if to snatch the whispers of the wind. Their leaves rustled softly, like a chorus of whispering voices, while their bark seemed to bear the weight of secrets, their limbs outstretched like sentinels guarding the forest's threshold. It was as if they had grown ears to listen, eyes to watch, and mouths to whisper warnings to any creature that dared to trespass.

Leaves whose life cycle had reached its end drifted lazily down to the ground, creating a crunchy carpet underfoot, their rustling whispers filling the air as they surrendered to the inevitable. The ground was strewn with their fallen forms, crunching and crackling beneath each step, and occasionally making a soft squishing sound as the damp earth yielded to their weight.

Meanwhile, Mike, Rotimi, Amina, John, Bisola, Chichi, and TJ wandered through the landscape, their footsteps quiet on the leaf-covered terrain, as they scoured the surroundings in search of sturdy sticks to construct a makeshift tent and any edible treasures the wilderness might hold. As they were returning from a corporate event they had attended on behalf of their workplace, their vehicle suddenly sputtered and came to a grinding halt in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by nothing but the dense, emerald expanse of a forest that stretched as far as the eye could see.

Despite their collective efforts to diagnose and repair the mechanical issue, and numerous attempts to flag down assistance, they were met with deafening silence and an unyielding vastness of wilderness. With the scorching sun beating down relentlessly, they reluctantly decided to seek alternative solutions. 'Let's divide and conquer,' Mike, a towering, chocolate-hued man with an imposing physique and an air of quiet authority, suggested.

His rugged features and impeccable attire commanded respect, and his voice carried a weight that was hard to ignore. 'Let John, TJ, Chichi, and I go gather the necessary sticks and branches for the tents,' he instructed, his deep voice resonating through the stillness. 'While Rotimi, Amina, and Bisola scour the surrounding area for food and water to expedite our survival.' With a collective nod of agreement, the group dispersed, each subset embarking on their assigned task with a sense of determination and urgency.
